In short Very friendly pet-supply spot with a focus on more-natural and less-processed stuff for dogs and cats. You probably knew that already. Bottom line, they're super nice, the products are good, and they're actually competitive on price too. In long Across a couple locations, they've been one of the main places I've shopped for pet stuff the last 20 years. There was a time when I'd get food at other places when I saw a lower price, but the dry stuff I get my cats now is actually cheaper here than most places. This week I came in for a bag of kibble that I paid for online. Their website occasionally has a bug that triggers your purchase at a different store, even if you re-save your local branch as "your" store. They were super cheerful about fixing it and squared it away in under 5 minutes. Another guy had a big friendly mutt in with him while I was waiting, and here's where you see MB doing its thing--they offer treats, gush over your fur baby, and make a point of remember your dog's name next time you come in. They want you to know they work there because they love animals, too. Nice touch. The way they merchandise everything is really nice for some reason--bit sturdy free-standing tables and shelves, usually you can see under around just about everything. Polished concrete floors. All easy to clean, very pet-friendly. They have every little thing you can imagine--beds, collars, food and water dishes, not just food. They have every kind of wet and dry food, too, and probably some natural stuff (I didn't look). Pets go through enough food that I am a pretty price-driven shopper, and these guys have come back into the rotation for me thanks to their pricing. But they really care, too--our little dog is a picky eater, and they have kept track of everything she has tried, and finally found stuff she'll eat enough of that she actually got half a pound *over* her goal weight. If I could give ten stars, I would. My 14 year old Maltese had to be laid to rest and we took her during her last weekend to Mud Bay to get all the treats and toys she could dream of. When we walked in, we told them what was up and they got her a cozy bed to sit in in the cart so she could shop in comfort. One of the employees went to the back and drew and beautiful card for us with a picture of her on it and everyone in the store signed it. Then they presented us with a bag of samples, soft food, ice cream and some other goodies for her. Everyone came over to give pets and hugs to all of us. I cried the entire time and they were so patient and loving with me. They went so far out of their way to help make her last few days special and it meant the world to a grieving family. But, oh my..this is by far the best customer service experience I've ever received. They were so attentive and were helpful when needed. They are always happy to help with my questions and they are great with my (insane high energy) dog. The store is clean and well organized. It's in a large strip mall with plenty of parking. They always have enough people working that one of them can take the time to talk to me about whatever I have questions about. And their return policy is great. If your dog won't eat the food or it doesn't agree with him, you can return it. I love Mud Bay and what they do and they employ the best people. The people are always kind, caring, and incredibly helpful. I just walked in 10 minutes to close, and Johnny, the Sherlock Holmes of cat food, helped me deduce what cat food I had last bought with almost no clues. I told him it was salmon, came in a sample pack, and showed him one of the pellets. He did some sleuthing and used deductive reasoning and found the food I needed. I had just run out if it, and had bought it for the first time a few weeks before and stupidly threw out the bag when I dumped it into our food bin, so I had no idea what brand it was or the name. The only drawback I can find is the expensive price of items compared to the bigger chains, but this is just the nature of smaller, higher quality pet stores! Love the staff and the selection of products. As a new pet owner, their information rack was a wonderful way to start investigating the do's and don't s of pet patenting. The ladies tending to the store were very nice and polite, inquiring about our dog's needs and dietary requirements. Their meal inventory includes a lot of natural and organic products that you may not find in big box and chain stores. Don't let the size of the store fool you, the selection rivals the aisles at Petco and Petsmart. The best thing about the store is you can buy snacks and treats by weight! This location is convenient - close to Boeing/Mukilteo/Edmonds/Lynnwood and near several shops, restaurants, and Grocery & RiteAid. The folks are kind and helpful, they have great inventory, it's clean, well-lit, and fantastic products. This is my new go-to pet shop!! Taylor was fantastic, she took time to ask about my pup... his coat/fur, his size, his protein preferences, everything - just to narrow down the perfect food fits for him. She recommended (2) foods that she thought would be a good fit.... and then she gave me complimentary SAMPLES of both. This made my day. I'm always afraid to commit to a big bag of food, because I'm not sure what my pup will take too. And she was spot on -- the 1st one we tried, he loved. One of the staff spoke with me for 30 minutes to discuss health problems my dog has been having. We discussed several approaches to dealing with it, what has worked for others, and he gave me alternatives that would work within my limited budget. I have been coming to this store location since it opened. The staff are friendly and know their stuff! Recently I adopted a cat and was given a coupon good for the next visit in. That's very nice of a mom and pop type store. I rescued a dog from a shelter and they gave me a packet that had $20 worth of dog food free and a dress 1 pound bag of treats. On top of all that the sampled out cans and dry food since I have no clue what this dog eats yet. Beyond being well-stocked, the store is tidy, organized and kindly staffed -- and last, but not least, remains cheaper than our alternative toy and treat source, the Country Store.
