It was fantastic. We ordered guacamole, of course, which was delicious and I ordered the grilled octopus. My husband ordered the steak. The food was good but the location was better! We did a candlelit dinner on the beach at sunset. The staff was overly accommodating and very friendly. My only tip to the management would be to become more educated on American currency. Our bill was $70-ish and we tried to pay with a $100 bill which wasn't accepted as it wasn't a newer "blue face" bill. It wasn't the super old design, it just wasn't the brand new blue face. It still had the proper holograms. So we had to pay with our card which meant the wait staff got cut short because apparently the business takes 20% of their tip if it's on a card versus cash. We didn't have smaller bills to tip in cash and intended to leave a $30ish dollar tip. read more

Located in downtown Islas Mujeres. With so many restaurants it's overwhelming on which restaurant to pick. We ultimately chose this spot because they had a seafood platter to share which we did not regret. The service was exceptional and very attentive. When I pointed out they forgot to put avocado in the soup immediately brought me out avocado. They also sat us right in the front next to the water and brought a stand for my purse. The only negative is there is no light in the restroom. Not Sure if they were trying to save electricity since it wasn't busy that night. The seafood platter to share was great except for the rice and French fries which I didn't care for. The service made the difference. read more

Excellent location right on the beach. I'm told the name of the restaurant means Pier 7, or Dock 7. Chose to sit out closer to the water because the breeze was mostly blocked in the main/front part of the restaurant. Happy hour is from 5-7 PM and, interestingly, they bring both of your 2 for 1's, out at the same time. Not ideal because ice melts quick in this environment. Guess you just have to drink faster. Food looked and smelled great, didn't eat though as my plans changed. Would definitely come back though, based on the smells and the people I talked to, who also happen to be from Texas. Look this place comes recommended from every boat tour you take to the beautiful Isla Mujeres. At first we were greeted with a friendly "ready for lunch?," by our hostess. We were promptly seated in a fan misted den of 90s pop rock hits and salt air. Once seated the menus were disbursed and we began our adventure. What would we have? Lobster? Chips and guacamole? No, not us. We were gonna get the fried octopus, the stuffed snapper and the coconut shrimp. The octopus was okay but too greasy for anything I'd ever care to have again, grilled would've been better..but wasn't an option. The shrimp was the size of your nephews fist. The best part of the visit was leaving after nearly a 100usd bill we left with a sense of defeat, resent and diarrhea. 2 stars because Jesus was excellent and attentive to our needs. read more

We stopped in attracted by the views of the bay and the kind host that invited us in. We were short on time because our boat was scheduled to leave in 40 minutes. They brought out our drinks quickly and took our orders. The Ojo Rojo I ordered was great. Big stein glass of ice halfway filled with Clamato, salt around the rim and a Dos XX beer with a skewer stabbed through 3 large fresh shrimp and green olives. So refreshing, so good. The Caribbean chicken I ordered was the best chicken I've ever had and the BBQ sauce was tasty. My six year olds pizza looked fresh and tasty, she loved it. My other daughter loved her tomato soup and was impressed with the portion, she loved my chicken as well. My wife loved her fish tacos wrapped in a fresh hand made flour tortilla. My son had the same only his where shrimp tacos. My dad's fish order looked great as well. The place is clean, the food is top notch and the service was great. The bar looks nice, the lobsters are huge and freshly caught. For 3 Rojo ojos, 4 sodas, 7 tasty dishes it came out to $108.00 and I gave him a $15 tip. The seafood could not be fresher considering the fisherman's boats are literally pulling up to the beach at the back of the restaurant. And pelicans are eyeballing your dish from feet away. Ceviche was top notch....octopus and snails cooked to perfection. Not at all chewy or tough but came across tasting like butter. This is now my wife's go to top ceviche spot. Strangely tacos are not on the menu but they will make them if you ask. I got shrimp and they came just grilled with peppers and onions on maize tortillas...with sides of guacamole, black beans and pico, fajita style. Fresh and delicious. Nothing better than sitting out back inder the palms with your toes in the sand and the waves lapping and eating great seafood like this. Very good preparation as well of the island's signature dish, the Mayan orange-spice rubbed fish dish Xichin-chick....few places pull this off but its worth it. Place is very kid friendly too...my 5 and 8 year old loved their chicken nachos with black beans and manchego cheese. Waiter even chopped open a coconut for them to spoon out the meat. The grilled tuna steak, the fish fillet in chili sauce, and the octopus and snail ceviche were extremely solid. There were literally 3 people grabbing, moving and adding things to our small table, next thing we knew 2 drinks were split on us and a glass broke when it hit the floor. It was horrible.... Now the seafood platter is in front of us and something smells horrible and bad! We tried the lobster first, it was over seasoned but tasted fine, next the fish - no flavor to it. Then I got lucky and had a shrimp, it was bad, gross, foul, all the above. At that point we were done eating, the smell was horrible and grossing us all out. We told the waiter and the 3 additional people they called over about the bad shrimp. They offered to bring us more fish which we accepted but later threw out because we couldn't get the smell out of our minds. All in all, it was expensive, gross and a disaster. The guacamole was bland. We asked for jalapeños and they put whole slices of canned jalapeños in it lol. It just isn't the best place to go eat on the island.
