Here for the first time and it was great. A wonderful selection of burgers. I had the Anthony's peanut butter burger and it was delicious, cooked exactly the way I like my burger. If I had a "beef" 8 oz was almost too much so about 2/3 through I removed the bun as I wanted to enjoy the rest of the burger and not feel stuffed. read more

Pretty decent BLT and pretty decent pulled pork. Nothing extraordinary about the visit, but good for a quick bite to eat. Had some nice craft beers to choose from, as well. Waitstaff does not look excited to be there, and they don't even pretend to be when they talk with you to take your order. read more

I've been to this Mugshots and the one in Starkville and this review applies to this one only. Most importantly, the food isn't that good. The burgers are a frozen patty (that's what the waitress said was the reason you can't get cooked to order burgers) which is ok but not worth leaving the house for. The bun is the saving grace though, if you like a nice sweet bun with good texture, but you don't really go to a burger place for the buns. I've had and sampled about half of their burgers and can't get excited about any of them. They used to have quality ingredients but clearly not anymore. Secondly, the service here was awful. The place wasn't that busy when we arrived and there were plenty of servers. The hostess may have been having a bad day but hardly looked at us when she threw some menus at a table and walked off grumpily. It took a while before a server got to us, she was perfectly fine although the things she said about the food didn't really make us want to eat it. I cannot recommend anyone ever go. read more

We loved this Burger place!!! We got the "McDonald" with sweet potato fries! Our waiter was awesome!!! He brought us soft serve ice cream to dip our sweet potato fries in and OMG you guys have to try it!!! So good! We also got the kids mac n cheese and it was pretty Krafty! Great Burgers, Friendly staff, fun menu. One of the Jackson areas best places for a burger. You should be able to find one to meet your needs on the large burger menu. I would suggest you branch out and try one you wouldn't normally order. The Big Kahuna with pineapple and teriyaki sauce is quite tasty. The new Western Burger (maybe?) is great with pepper jack cheese, fried jalapenos, and fried onion straws. The onion rings are very good. I think the fries just changed with the new menu additions. They are a bit larger like the size of a 1/2 of a steak fry and battered with something tasty. The place is loud. You'll have to wait for a table most any evening during peak hours, but possibly an hour or longer on Friday or Saturday. They have big screen TVs throughout the place, you may be able to see one, but you won't be able to hear it. Contrary to some other reviews that describe the place as a sports bar, I think it is a big burger joint that happens to have some TVs showing sports. If you drink water you can by for under $10 before tip, but a tip and drink will push you to $14-16 per person. read more

I went here on a date-- I know, I know, "how classy," "spare no expense," HEY!!! It was her idea : ) We were seated quickly. We asked the waitress what beer selection they had in a bottle. The lady was clueless. I cashed in my Man Card and ordered a Michelob Ultra, my date pushed for a beer menu. Michelob Ultra showed up at the table with a crudely drawn list of bottled beers scrawled on a bar napkin. My date goes with Blue Moon...what goes with that? You guessed it, an orange slice. Did it show up at the table like that...of course not. Date requests orange slice and they bring out some old wilted up looking orange slices that look like they had been slowly decomposing in the back of a fridge somewhere for a few days. On to the meal. There are so many specialty burgers and sandwiches to choose from. It took a little time to make a selection. I ordered the country fried steak burger and the date had one out of a dozen specialty cheeseburgers. Both of us had onion rings. The food showed up at the table a tad longer than we would have liked, but despite the lackluster performance before the food...it was surprisingly good. Everything was cooked to perfection and we filled up in a hurry. The bill was wasn't to heavy on the wallet and arrived at our table and was processed quickly. So all in all the waitress and bartender probably need some training and remediation. The food runners were excellent and the cooks did a superb job. Here's your 3 stars : ) Maybe I should give you and extra star because I did hit a homerun later on that evening however, I'd like to think that was due to my efforts. read more

Definitely one of my favorite places for a good burger and beer in Jackson. I usually go for the Breakfast Burger, which is always excellent. Today I had the Red, White, and Blue, which did not disappoint. Good sized patty covered in mild sauce with blue cheese. Very flavorful, not overwhelming. We went at an odd time, around 3pm, so we didn't have a wait, but usually the place is packed. The service has always been great, and they give you free queso and chips with your eat jxn card. read more

Food was okay and hot but the service was the worst I've ever had short of no service. It took at least 20 minutes to get just our drinks of tea and soda. She forgot my lime for my tea and said be right back. Well that meant another 20 minutes and she still didn't bring the lime! So again she left, got on the phone at the bar and finally brought one little wedge that was pathetic. I didn't bother asking for more for fear of never seeing her again. We ordered and waited 40 minutes for our burgers. NOT WORTH THE WAIT FOR MEDIOCRE BURGERS AND FRIES. This place has had the best burger in Mississippi voted for maybe the last 5+ years (they have banners to prove it) and their burgers are great! My guess is the bread is what makes the burger taste so good. The burgers are so big, they usually need to be cut in half before taking that first bite. I have had most of the burgers on the list and can honestly say they are great. Try the peanut butter burger or breakfast burger(s) for a nice change of pace. The portions are big and their drinks are big too. Most of the service is average, but it can be hit or miss at times. Hopefully you get someone worthy of a great tip. read more

Best burger around!! My husband usually gets the "Gamble" burger. Which is covered in chili and cheese deliciousness, jalapeños and that wonderful sweet bun to too it off. I usually get "Da Big Cheese" burger. Which is a ultimate cheeseburger with American, Swiss, and pepper jack cheese also topped with the sweet bun. The "Spencer's nachos" are pretty amazing as well. All of their food is delicious. But I seriously don't know why anyone would go there for anything other than their burgers. They are THAT good. Oh and the service isn't all that great. I just left there after a hr and 30 mins. When we arrived only 15 mins after opening, there were only about 5 tables occupied. It took an hr and 10 mins to get our order. It was only 3 meals. And my order had chili cheese fries, she put the chili and cheese on my chicken sandwich instead of fries so after all that we had to wait another 20 mins on my food to get changed. And no discount at all. I was sick to my stomach by the time I finally got my food. Also, my moms and sons food came out barely warm. Several people around us came and ate and left around us. I just ordered a chicken Caesar salad from Mugshots, and the lettuce is wilted, stale croutons, tough chicken, little flavor in the Caesar dressing. I have had better salads from fast food joints than Mugshots. I guess if you want burgers, it's a good place to go. Everything else, however, is subpar for the amount you pay for the food. read more

They've seriously become awful. Last weekend we were there with 4 adults and 2 children. Ordered two shakes and they came out warm, small, and gross. The Powpow chicken appetizer that used to always get inhaled had no taste and was left uneaten. My husbands Cajun chicken sandwich was half the size it used to be and had no Cajun seasoning. My burger was dry and nothing special... they also only gave me 9 fries ( yes I counted) for my $12.50 meal. My son ordered a chicken Caesar salad that came out brown with seemingly microwaved frozen chicken-- just a few tiny pieces. We will not return. Such a shame. P.S. our server Xavier was very nice! I will start with my reason for giving 3 stars: I am a fairly healthy eater. Granted this is a burger place, but there was not one thing on the menu that I felt comfortable eating. My choices: a burger, fried anything you want, grilled chicken on a huge bun, or a grilled chicken salad. Ok, so I could have gone with the grilled chicken salad. Oh and grilled chicken alfredo. The burgers all come in one size, they are all beef (no turkey), and they are all served on a sweet roll bun (no wheat options.) I did not even eat anything. This is why I'm giving 3 stars instead of 4. Since I was there with friends, I did, however have a couple beers. I had a Yazoo Pale Ale for $3.75, and a Abita Amber for the same price. They also have draft crappy beer, ie, Miller Lite, Bud Lite, and the like, for just $1.50. However, you are on Lakeland in Flowood. Because of the beer selection, I give it a 3 instead of 2. BUT if you like a good BIG burger, give it a try. There are many options. read more

I visited this place for both my first and last time. The fried pickles were decent at best. I ordered the Breakfast Burger, medium and the server informed me that per management "they only cook their burgers well done". It was when I got my food I realized their "well done" was short for "charred edges and dried, tough meat". This used to be one of my favorite places in Mississippi. I have not been here in a few years and stopped because I wanted a good burger. I was utterly disappointed as the patty was rubbery tasting and I could stand to stomach a portion of the sandwich. Although overcooked the onion rings saved this review from being 1 star. Additionally, I also called the restaurant to ask if the meat had been changed as this was not how I remembered it. I was only told that it's the same meat as it has always been. After I said thank you, I just wanted to share that it was not the same quality as I had experienced before and wanted to let someone know, that was it. A BYE was given without as much as an offer to make it right or fix the issue. Customer service is not a strong suit for this location thus I would think twice before spending my money here. Decided to walk from the motel and give this place a try. 630 in the afternoon it was already starting to get full . I sat at the bar , which is something I rarely do. I may have to change my no sitting at the bar policy after this. Talk about good service , and the cold beer kept coming. I had talked myself into trying something different this time , and oh did I. I ordered the peanut butter burger , and like I told the bartender " everything is better with bacon on it , put bacon on it " I got the fries with it. Well I got my burger , and I had to open it to check it out. BIG MISTAKE lol. Like the bartender said " it should come with a warning , do not open" . It sure tasted a lot better than it looked inside , I would actually order this again. Now for those fries , normally I don't care much for fries . These were good , I just wish I had ordered them crispy like I normally order my fries . I still wound up eating all of them anyway. I usually just eat a few . Came in the door to find three disinterested employees chatting, it took them quite a while to lead us to the most obvious table. The floor under the table was dirty with trash, the bench seats were ripped in many places. From there we sat, no one ever appeared to get dinks or take order. The food is still delicious, but the atmosphere has definitely gone. In all the other locations, mugshots has established itself as a fun place for college-aged people, with delicious burgers and cold drinks. The Jackson-area location seemed to mimic that when part of the Quarter, but their move to flowood seems detrimental at the least. I walked into an empty restaurant, except for a few families after high school football. So, its great to know I can get a great burger while in Jackson, but sad to see this branch be such a far cry from the others. This was a waste of my money & time... We (myself & 5 girl friends) went in for dinner on a Thursday night. The restaurant was not extremely busy so we were seated within reasonable time, it was after that where everything went south. We ordered basic drinks (tea, coke, water..) and two appetizers which came out rather quickly. Our waitress then went MIA, we had to ask for a random waiter to take our order..he instead went to find our waitress. Once we had someone to take our order 45m later we received our meal. We didn't order random entrees... we had to ask for things that should've been attended to without questioning. Refills. Condiments. The manager came to check in on us and after complaining about our service to him he mentioned he would make corrections to everything for us and take care of everything. We tried the new Pearl Mugshots and it was nice, way bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside. I like it better than the one on Lakeland because it's bright and clean. I've never cared for the low lighting at the Lakeland location, food there is always great, service is lacking at times. We had great server at Pearl and I love the Mugshot's breakfast burger but I actually tried the blackened shrimp pasta this time and it was wonderful. Won't think of just burgers when I think of Mugshots now. read more

This is where I go when I want a good Veggie Burger. I usually get it plain but you may like the fixings. I have tried veggie burgers from almost every local restaurant that sells one and there is no way that they can beat this delicious, juicy burger. My whole family loves this place. There fries pickles are great! I have gone by and just ordered them. The fries are so crispy and good too. I could eat a basket of them. My nieces love the chicken strips. They are huge and so juicy. My daughter loves the pasta. They have something for everyone. But I recommend a burger....they have lots to choose from. You can't go wrong. read more

Came in for lunch after picking up someone from the airport. The placed looked like it was a bit busy from the lunch rush. Our waitress gave us one of the booths at the end and gave us our menus and left to get our drinks. We started with the cheese wedges, which were a lot larger than we expected. These wedges tasted awesome and were fun to eat with the whole cheese stretching. The only demerit from the entire experience was that I just wish they had let them drain a bit more of the grease off before serving them. My companion ordered a Middleberger, and could not even finish half of it nor the fries, but they thoroughly enjoyed the attempt. I ordered Anthony's Peanut Butter Burger, with crunchy peanut butter and bacon. Okay, I know that the idea of peanut butter and bacon on a burger sounds disgusting to some, but it is an mind-blowing experience. The only thing I was thinking as I was leaving was, "Next time I'm gonna add jelly to that burger." Overall, the prices were a touch high, but we did get what we paid for. Our waitress was attentive but did not hover over us as we ate, not to mention she was also informative and had a pleasant and colorful personality.
