Eight perfectly cooked shrimp, which, if you know anything about eating seafood at the beach, is no small accomplishment. Shrimp can go from tender to rubber in the blink of an eye. These were just right. But the gravy... That was the star. Savory. Creamy. Deep with flavor. It didn't simply sit on top of the grit cakes; it brought the whole dish together, elevating every bite. And I was grateful for the spoon they served with it, because leaving even a drop of that gravy behind would have felt like a waste. There are meals you eat because you're hungry. Get a little grit cake, some gravy, and a shrimp on the same spoon and you have one of those bites that makes you stop talking for a second. RP's feels like the kind of place beach locals know about and visitors eventually discover. My first visit was for brunch, but if lunch and dinner are this good, I suspect this won't be my last.
