I had a really great time at Mumbai dreams recently! They are located in a small plaza with parking spots available. The restaurant is quite large with two different rooms for seating. The decor was really nice and the staff were friendly. The menu is quite extensive and they offered us 3 different food menus and 1 drink menu. Honestly it was a bit confusing because it was a specials, lunch, and normal menu and a ton of things repeated while some things you could only find on specific menus. For example chicken tikka samosa is on the regular menu, butter chicken Mac n cheese samosa is on the special menu, but there are no samosa options on the lunch menu. We ordered the lamb nihari tacos, chicken tikka masala samosa, fried chicken tikka masala sandwich with masala fries, the butter chicken Mac n cheese, and a mango lassi. We also got kheer as a free desert with a yelp check in! The tacos came with mozzarella cheese which I can't eat so we had to ask for it off. I would have been nice to be able to sub the cheese for another, but I guess it wasn't an option. The meat was good, very tender and flavorful. The chicken tikka samosa was beautiful in presentation but it was really dry. I'd love for it to have more sauce or some kind of dipping sauce with it. The chicken tikka sandwich and fries were fantastic. My biggest issue with this is that it comes on a brioche bun (fine for me but not for my bf bc of an egg allergy). I asked if we could sub the bun for a non-egg bun but this also wasn't an option. It's fine, just disappointing. The butter chicken Mac n cheese was also fantastic. The mango lassi was good and the Kheer was fine. It was good, it's just not my particular favorite but I really appreciated that we got to try it. We also weren't able to try the nan because they have eggs in them. This was a first we've had this issue with nan so I was surprised and disappointed on this as well. Fabulous contemporary Indian place with a ton of creativity. I don't recall seeing any regular, run of the mill Indian dishes ... everything was a twist (in a great way) taking traditional flavors and spices and adding a little extra joy. The lamb chops were moist, tender, fatty & flavorful, everything you could ask for in a lamb chop. The Kheer was great. Gulab Jamun was good except I didn't like the ice cream it was paired with. It tasted like lactaid ice cream. I wasn't a fan of the butter chicken Mac & cheese, something was off about the taste. It was very creamy & the macaroni was cooked well. Brought family here few months back when so many people recommended it. The interior is definitely decked to be trendy in Indian decor and memorabilia on the walls. The parking wasn't too bad for arriving for dinner time and the restaurant was full of people when we arrived. Staff were friendly and attentive to all tables as we were seated quickly and orders were taken promptly. There were 10 of us so it was nice that we got a table so quickly. Food was served hot and didn't disappoint and menu has so many things to try. They definitely have crafted the menu to appeal to both vegetarians and non vegetarians with unique dishes. We ordered takeout from Mumbai Dreams on a Saturday night. We had heard lots of good things. We ordered potato samosas, garlic naan, and butter chicken. The samosas and naan were delicious. The butter chicken was only ok. The flavor was a little bland and the portion wasn't very generous. It was a lot of sauce with meager amounts of chicken floating in it. I've been twice and the food is amazing! I took a picture of the bill to remember what I've tried. They take your appetizer and entrée order at the same time because everything is made to order. My favorites so far: garlic naan with raita, malai kofta, chowpatty, and pani puri. The service is always good. I was in the neighborhood so I stopped in for lunch. We start off with a dahl Puri and chicken tikka masala samosas. OMG, the Dahl Puri was amazing crispy, creamy and tart at the same time. Loved it!!! The chicken tikka masala samosas were very crispy on the outside with a wonderful tikka masala sauce that was creamy and rich. Just delicious. For entrées, we ordered the shrimp korma and the chicken curry, With garlic naan. The korma was somewhat spiced and the shrimp were succulent and crisp. The chicken curry was phenomenal, the creamiest curry I've ever had. Our waiter was very friendly and answered the questions that I had. Overall, it was an amazing lunch. Servers were nice but the manager by the register was not so friendly. Nothing special about the decor. We didnt have a reservation so we were seated outside near the door. Not much decoration here. Our server had told us that it would take some time (about 20 min) but it barely took 20. So we were pretty happy about that. Food: Ordered the usual: butter chicken, sag paneer, and garlic naan. Chicken was tender but the sauce was not quite the butter chicken that im used to. The color was a bit yellow not tomato orangey color. It lacked flavor and acidity you get from tomato based sauce only heaviness from butter. (2/5) Sag paneer was good. Cottage cheese was fresh but it was a bit too watery. It was too watery to dip the garlic naan. Disapointment. (2/5) Garlic naan came out lukewarm and not enough garlic flavor. It was not great. (2/5) The most annoying thing above all is that they automatically add 20% tip. It was just my husband and i and there was hardly any service. They didnt even pour water in the beginning! The food here is absolutely delicious! My husband and I really enjoy doing takeout. We've dined in once and didn't have the best experience with the service or wait times. The food was still great. We were walk ins. The entire front area was empty. We were told a 45 min wait, we waited. We then saw the front area start to fill up and people who came in after us were getting sat before us (no reservation). Then the waiter took awhile to get to us to take our order. The waiter was very nice & gave great recommendations. We didn't get a chance to review the drinks, but they looked great leaving the bar. The app list is amazing, we had the Lamb Nihari Taco's (New Item I was told) when I say insane I mean insane! The flavor that came from the lamb, onions and cilantro was unmatched and made that combo soooo soooo good! Also the garlic naan fantastic, then we had the butter milk chicken lollipops a real nice take on a chicken style app. I went in knowing I wanted the masala fried chicken sandwich and really nothing else hahaha. There's levels to the spice they put in their food, I tried medium to play it safe and it was really tasty with a good amount of spice without being too hot at all. I love spice so next time I can't wait to try the next level. It was a Tuesday night walked right in, seated immediately, perfect table in the back corner. The decor was decorative, lighting a nice romantic setting...bathrooms were clean, tidy and fully stocked. Idk what more you can ask from a establishment. I would recommend this spot to any one and will be back very soon for the other interesting items on the menu. Love the traditional Indian dishes and the fusions mashed up as well. It was expensive for rockland county, but if this place was in manhttan might have been about the right price for 3 adults drinking and eating for a night out. I found out about Mumbai Dreams from fellow Yelpers' reviews. It peeked my interest since the restaurant has almost perfect 5 star rating. Despite being 30 minutes away, we decided to give it a try. My oh my, we were in for a meal for the ages. This hidden gem of a place, is simply outstanding. From the items they offer in the menu, to the food, the music, service, all of it a treat. This place is among my top favorite Indian restaurants now and I am already planning many more visits here. For the food, we started with dahi puri. So juicy, and a perfect mix of ingredients, just melts in your mouth. The keema pav was a very unorthodox dish, that I haven't seen before. The keema with egg and bread was a delight. For entree with got shrimp taco and the mix platter. As expected they were full of spice, masala, and mouth watering taste. Veg samosa and kheer were also top notch. I could only compare some of the best Indian restaurants from Parsipanny and NYC to this place, when it comes to food's quality and taste. I Drive to the packed parking lot and the outside seemed, eh but we said let's go inside and give it a try. We were not disappointed. From the great customer service to the food made to order. One more thing about this destination is that they will alter the spice level to you preferred spice level perfectly. My brother and I came here cause we saw a post from IG. We ordered the Fried Butter chicken sandwich and Fried chicken Tikka Masala sandwhich. They came with French fries and it was delicious. Family meals consist of 1 tray entree (list of availability on social media) and 1 tray naan, basmati rice or half and half for $35. Feeds 5-6 people. My main complaint, curry dishes were thickened with guar gum or flour or corn starch or something! They were all the same gelatinous consistency and texture and the chicken Tikka Masala had so much red food coloring it was practically glowing! Gulabs just tasted sweet and not much of cardamom or spices. What a FANTASTIC experience! From the staff to the food everything was 5 stars! We walked in with no reservation and were sat immediately, thank goodness because it got busy very quickly! We started with a few drinks, the Mumbai dreams and a colaba, needless to say delicious! We love a place with a great cocktail menu and Mumbai dreams has it! As appetizers we got vegetable samosas, Lamb Nihari Taco's, garlic and rosemary naan. The Lamb Nihari Taco's .... OUT OF THIS WORLD GOOD! The samosas were good as well but a little dry in my opinion. For dinner we had the Lamb Shank Mughlai and the Akbari Kebab, both were amazing. The lamb shank was fall off the bone tender and so flavorful, I couldn't stop eating it! As for the Akbari kebab, the chicken was juicy and tender, the minced lamb was even flavored wonderfully, and the presentation... WOW, if I could attach the video I would! My cousins live nearby and sent me the Instagram page and I don't think it's possible to avoid immediately salivating just looking at pictures/ presentation. I do have to admit I was guarded because you often see tik tok and Instagram videos that hype up a lot of restaurants which end up with food that tastes subpar. But wow- this place really lived up to the hype! The cocktails are thoughtfully crafted and unique. I do have to say I got to the kachi keri cocktail which I would not get again but the drinks my cousin and husband got were amazing Food- I'm not a huge lamb eater but their lamb tacos were so insanely flavorful and just a burst of flavors- would definitely order many more times. Four of us shared a chicken tikka masala sandwich since we ordered many appetizers and it was VERY good. As both a chicken sandwich and chicken sandwich with a. Twist. The lamb biryani was equally as flavorful as the lamb tacos. We got a medium spice and it was medium- spicy which was perfect. The only downside is that one person takes your orders and the rest of the waiters are only servers. The service was very slow but honestly it was worth it- hopefully they can work on that. I said we won't pay for it. Then they removed it. Had the audacity to charge a 20% tip for 3 people! They did not deserve the 20% gratuity. Even in nyc they don't charge a 20% for less than 6 people. That's why their servers can offer sub par service because they are guaranteed that tip. Never again. Will do take out but never dine in again! read more

On to the main course, the Lamb Shank Mughal showcased a remarkable combination of flavors and textures, very tender and offered an array of warm spices. The Kerala fried chicken was crisp, tender, and juicy on the inside. The Naan bread and chicken tikka masala were enjoyable and displayed the classic flavors one would expect. However it did not leave a lasting impression, or offer anything exceptional. The drinks were enjoyable, however I did observe that the gratuity had already been included in the check, which was not my preference and I did note that the prices of these dishes compared to other Indian restraunts were on the higher side.
