I Received a lukewarm mango lassi. Whoever is packaging these food deliveries need a training. I ordered an appetizer the 3 musketeers and it was disappointing. Everything was dry, dripping in oil and lettuce. Mixed grill was a total disaster . I didn't see any lamb either . Everything was over cooked, and not worth it. Mixed biriyani was lame, lacked flavor and it had a hard carrot on the side. The raita was a joke. I can't believe someone got the raita wrong. Why did it taste like sweet sugary white sauce is beyond me. The food, the sauces , and the presentation was all disappointing and I don't recommend ordering any of these items from here. My Uber driver was right, next time, that I want a good samosa I will go to Whole Foods market . The samosa from this restaurant was literally a salt wrap. This place is my go to Indian Resturant. I've been to plenty. Many of them look very much the same and sometimes it's hard to distinguish the bad from the good ones. This place is for sure one of the good ones. I usually order take out, but sometimes I dine in. The service is great, like they obviously care about you which shows. As for the food. Trust me on this: Vegetable pakora, mango chicken, mango lassi, tikka, all amazing staple marks that pass with flying colors. But you HAVE to try the Tandoori salmon and the rice pudding! The salmon is unreal! Juicy, and crunchy on the top (no skin!) and spiced to perfection. I never had it before and it blew me away. The rice pudding is just rich milky sweetness. It rules. My boyfriend and I had a great experience eating at Mumbai Place this weekend! It was his first time eating Indian food and he is definitely coming back here for more. We got Lamb Kebabs and Vegetable Samosas for our appetizers. Both were packed with flavor and included a trio of chutneys/sauces. We went with a classic Chicken Tikka Masala and Saag Paneer for our entrees. Again, everything was delicious, with a perfect amount of flavor and spice. The entrees came with basmati rice, and we ordered Naan as well. Great portions, we took leftovers home for lunch the next day. And great prices! If you're looking to dine in, the restaurant is in a really great location on Vanderbilt Ave. It was a summer Friday night, so the restaurant doors and windows are kept open. I recently dined there, and unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience. The state of the bathroom was so unsanitary. And after eating the food, I got bad stomach. I love Indian food and I know so much about it having gone to so many restaurants and Indian events. I am visiting New York and my daughters were taking me to a Pho place on Vanderbilt and I saw Mumbai place and we changed our minds and decided to go Indian, and we did not regret it. Great fresh Indian food. The appetizers were yummy we ordered samosas, and veggie pakora and took their advice on the Broccoli Malai, which was amazing. The Shrimp Okra dish was also amazing and so was their chicken Tika masala and saag paneer, all served with freshly baked naan bread and rice. We asked for pickled mango and more chutney and they were very generous. Everything was a perfect taste and my daughters and I enjoyed the food, the friendly service, and the clean space, it was indoors but they have this set up where they can open the whole front wall and it felt like we are outdoors, but in a cool and clean space. the prices were reasonable and I will definitely go back and do recommend Mumbai Place. read more

Tried with friends and ordered a bunch of stuff, all disappointing. Paneer tikka masala was too sweet, watery, and bland overall. Chana masala was equally flavorless and sweet. Mint chutney was also flavorless and watery. Garlic naan was meh and unsalted. Samosa chaat was okay but the filling was bland. Aloo tikiyas was okay, not amazing but probably the best part of the meal. Also very stingy that they filled all the rice containers only 3/4 of the way up. read more

This restaurant was ominously empty compared to the other nearby restaurants, but we liked that the front wall was open, so we could sit at a table undercover and still have more airflow that some "outdoor" seating offers. Closest we've come to eating indoors in over a year! Good thing about Yelp is that we looked it up here and saw all the great reviews, and decided to give it a go. I'm happy to say that dinner was delicious, service was friendly and attentive, and no one had an upset tummy afterward. We were sad they didn't have dosa (issues with supply chain due to COVID-19), but they had so many other vegetarian options that it was hard to pick! I recommend the mushroom muttar, and my dining companions recommend the saag and the salmon. The rice is good, not too oily like at some of our local places, and gently spiced with cumin seeds. We shared a garlic naan and oh boy! The garlic was plentiful. Yum. Portions are a bit smaller for the price than you might expect, but the entrees are definitely satisfying enough for most appetites. The dinner specials were priced fairly at $15.95 and came with an entree, appetizer, naan bread, rice, and chutney). Great little place. We ordered Aloo Tikiyas, Chicken Tiki Masala, Chicken Biryani, and garlic naan. They were extremely busy juggling takeout and delivery orders with their dine-in customers so the entire experience took a little longer than normal. That being said, the person (1 person handling everything) was very kind and friendly despite the rush and craziness. I give this place 5 stars because clearly they were trying very hard to be on top of the rush of people. There was this one couple - this girl complained about lack of chicken and the sauce - but frankly it was extremely rude and she should've "read the room" realizing how busy they were. My bf got the same thing she did and it was not what she said it was. I could barely finish my plate there was so much (in a great way.
