I try to support small businesses, especially local ones but I will NOT be coming back here. Bottom line: you don't know how they're treating your pup here. Is your dog super excited to see you when you pick them up? Maybe they want to get the hell out of here, that's why. First of all, extremely rude older Korean woman with terrible service. (I'm Korean so I'm aware of the cultural norm). She straight up said, your dog is not welcome here. If she had a difficult time with my pup, that's fine, not everyone is a dog person, but she should've brought this up as soon as she realized she couldn't handle it, rather than make it miserable for my dog the entire four hours she had him. Yes, ajummah, don't worry, we will not be coming back!! Which brings me to my second point, I don't think they know how to cater to "difficult situations" or timid dogs and rather aggravate the situation since they're not trained professionals. My pup has done very well at other places, but here, he's been called "aggressive and difficult". He also had some questionable spots that looked like burn spots or marks that looked like she went way too close with the razor. There's no way to know since it's just her word, but the other similar reviews speak volumes. I guess they take it out on the pups if it's "misbehaving." Both of our puppies were injured during their last trip here , a bath and shampoo for the two came out to a total of $220. After reporting the injuries and posting photos on yelp I eventually contacted the owners and requested a full refund in which they obliged. I agreed to take the photos down in order to decrease the negative publicity in exchanged for the refund. The saddest part is that the owner seems so caring and genuine yet she deflected any responsibility and claimed the dogs came in bloody and freshly injured. She claimed that my smaller white dog had two infected ears prior to the bath which she left alot of water in which eventually caused the infection and serious bleeding and the larger lab came in with a cut stomach cut leg and infected scars in between her paws and a large cut along side her eye socket , which was the result of a extra speedy razor . It is a common injury caused during a rushed grooming experience. I thought about leaving this real review for a long time and i just simply want her to fess up and apologize and I have no intention of legally pursuing her incase that is what she is afraid of by admitting her faults. Simply just claiming perfectly healthy dogs with zero injuries came in and left tortured bloody and injured just wont cut it in my book. I will keep my promise of removing the photos because she did refund me and that was the deal. read more

I normally read the negative reviews first when trying out new places, but for some reason I did not in the case of Puppy In Style (PIS). This may have been due to the fact that Charlie (poodle-terrier mix) really needed a hair cut/nail trimming and because there were so many glowing reviews that pushed the negative reviews to the bottom. Regardless, here I am writing a review because I am really irked. Sure the owner guy is nice and the price was reasonable at $35 to groom my 15 pound little dark child. Also, appearances-wise the groomer Julia did an overall decent job in making Charlie look nice. However, the part that PISses me off is the fact that they nicked my dog in 3 different places and did not tell me. I mean I should have known something was off when I went to pick up Charlie and he jumped into my arms trying to get the hell out of the place. Alas, I did not notice the cuts until I began spotting blood trails on my tiled floor when we got home. That was when on closer inspection I found that not only was there a cut on his paw, there were also cuts on his face and in his ear. Even after a week the wife and I are still applying bag balm to his injuries. Look, don't get me wrong, I know that accidents happen all the time at dog groomers because dogs move and jerk around unexpectedly. However, what I do not appreciate is the fact that no-fucking-body told me they had hurt Charlie. To many dog owners, their dogs are like their children. Imagine if a barber or hair stylist had cut a child's ear - would that be acceptable? I guess from now on I will have to camp out at Charlie's new groomers instead of just dropping him off so that when he "yelps" from pain I can say what the hell! * Oh yea, and about that report card everyone is talking about. Honestly, I could care less about a dingy 1/3 piece of paper they call a report card that says my dog has an average temperament. I'd rather you fuck the report card and provide me with a damage assessment and tell me the places where you cut my dog. I've been coming here since 2018 so it's been 3 years now. I care less about the haircut and more about the well-being of my furbaby. I've taken her to multiple groomers and I used to wait until she was done to make sure she was safe because I've read so many stories about animal abuse. Now my main concern is for them to make the process as easy and least stressful as possible for her, and having her return home without any injuries. I realized that unless you're going to learn to groom your own dog, it's hard to find someone you can trust 100%. I'm sure it's stressful for dogs to keep changing groomers too. Lola is well-tempered and gentle but she's terrified of water and of getting her nails trimmed so I'm sure it's stressful for her. She sleeps all day afterwards. I'll continue to stick to this establishment because they're careful with her. The owners are sweet, professional, and they do a good job! For any groomer you go to, make sure to tip them 20%+ because I'm sure it's stressful for them too! read more

After the owner changed my dog (tiny 6lb senior dog) came home bruised. The last time i took her in, her entire head was bruised red and purple and swollen. And she was traumatized. When mom confronted them about the injury they admitted that they beat my dog because she wouldnt stay still. This is a lie for my dog has been grooming over 11 years. This never happened until the owner changed. I was furious. They offered to do free grooming and said they will return the tip i paid. I never went back for the money nor have I taken my dog there since. My dog now has a mobile groomer who comes to our home. Shame on you. read more

On 10/29, I came to dine at KTown Pho. I ate a table in the hallway. There was puppy barking the entire time. It broke my heart. The store was locked up and all lights were off. So the dog was just in there, in the dark, barking and crying. If your dog was boarded here on this night, I'm sorry to report your baby suffered. All I wanted to do was rescue the baby, but there was nothing I cld do. I get when you board an pet, there can't be someone there 24/7, but even if there wldve been another dog or something. She made weird comments about my dog, acted like I was bothering her when I arrived and was just really snippy when I was paying too. SOOOO weird. I have no idea why you would be rude to your own customers. We have a small dog (6lbs) and she quoted me $30 on the phone. Then after the first cut she said it was $35 b/c my dog was difficult. Um.. Puppy in Style is located at Monette Place and Western, inside at the back corner (past a delicious Pho restaurant). There is also a small parking lot in the back of the building through the alley on Monette. As soon as you walk in, you are welcomed with so many cute little dogs either being groomed or what I assume to be at doggie day care? Some of them even have the cute blush on their cheeks!! Honestly, the first time I walked in, I thought I died and went to heaven! The store also has every imaginable dog accessory available!! Highly recommend! It makes me so sad to give this place a bad review when I used to be a faithful customer for 11 years. But I will now never come here ever again. There has been a recent change of ownership and it has become a place that does not care for the well being of your dog. I understand it is possible to occasionally accidentally clip a dog's nail too short and bleed. But this has never happened with the previous owner. But just last week I took my dog here again for her normal grooming, and when I picked her up, I saw that EVERY SINGLE ONE OF HER NAILS had been clipped so short that they ALL bled. One of her nails, they even went as far as to cut off half the entire nail. If you accidentally clip one nail too short, why would you continue to clip them all so short that they all bleed?!! Then they had the audacity to say to me that they didn't know where the nerve ending is on her nails. They're supposed to be the professionals. And on top of that, my dogs nails are CLEAR! You can see the pink part!! I asked where the nice gentlemen was and the lady told me that she is now the new owner. I plead with you all please! Do not bring your dog here! They will butcher your dogs nails until they bleed and then try to push the blame away from themselves. They do not care and will continue to cause your dog pain. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE. I took my puppy here as a last resort and I really should not have. When my puppy arrived home she was licking her body and I found out she has scars all over her body. It wasnt even a scar, it seems like someone cut her skin on some parts, instead cutting just the hair. She is so irresponsible and I cannot believe she didn't even care to tell me when I went to pick up my puppy. If you want to scar your pets, this will be the place. WORST SERVICE EVER!!! 1. I came to pick up my dog and the lady asked if my dog had allergies and I said yes. THEN I see this huge scar on her right shoulder and the lady said it was already there when they cut her hair off. She said it was probably cause my dog itched herself SOOO much that it made her bleed. I found it kinda reasonable but although she had allergies I've never seen anything like this. We've been to plenty of groomers and nothing like this ever happened. I just paid her and left planning to go to the vet. 2. Didn't think much of it till we went on our afternoon walk and she would refuse to walk. She just sat there and would not move. My dog loves going on walks and who's dog doesn't!? Thats when I knew she made some BS about my dog itching herself to death. My dog wouldn't want to go on walks and she was sleeping ALL day. I knew these were signs of trauma. 3. After further examination she has a nick on her neck, right shoulder, back left leg, left armpit, and scabs on her private area. To think she HAD the audacity to tell me to put Neosporin on her scar and not go to the vet cause it's expensive. THE only reason she wouldn't want me to go is cause the vet would say she messed up my dog!!! 4. DO NOT GIVE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY TO A DUMP LIKE THIS THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY'RE DOING 5. Owner and groomers have changed. Recommend going to Olympic Pet Shop or Bubbles. The owner Jay is super friendly. They offer grooming and dog sitting (daily or prepaid monthly. I've seen them quarantine any dogs who start humping or bothering the general pupulation. It's nice to know that your pup won't be stuck in a cage/kennel alone until grooming. I like to drop my baby off in the morning so she can socialize and pick her up at closing. They provide a report card with weight, dental hygiene, and behavior. read more

Update: My pup's corneal ulcer is melting due to bacterial activity. I cannot blame Puppy In Style for the initial damage to my dog's eye, as it's possible that could've happened separately. But as for the bacteria that entered the damage, this establishment is definitely to blame. They obviously need to sanitize their tools better. I'm swimming in vet bills due to this. ------------- I've never hated myself so much before. It's my fault I let my dog get groomed here again when I had a bad experience last time. Since I didn't have time to drop him off, I thought letting my mom drop him off, with more specific instructions would be ok this time.. but NO. I JUST CAME BACK FROM THE VET. Ever since he was picked up from this place, he hasn't been able to fully open his left eye. His eye was pussing up so much. Turns out he's developed a mean, deep corneal ulcer & a crazy infection. I was even told to IMMEDIATELY get a second opinion from an eye specialist because his case was really bad, I mean IS really bad. We're suffering right now. I called several places who were all booked out for the day, but Puppy in Style was able to take my dog right away. This place was a little hard to locate, in a plaza on Olympic and Monette Street(before 8th street), the little space was inside the plaza. There is parking in the rear with an entrance directly to the place. The lady didn't seem to friendly initially and she asked what kind of trim I wanted. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the short trim because my dog was too matted. My dog was ready in a couple of hours and she looked beautiful with teeth freshened ($5 extra). She did keep the hair on her ears long, so she looked even more adorable. Too bad I don't live closer, otherwise I would be a regular. I took my dog here for an all shave and they did a pretty good job. The lady wasn't too friendly but after she saw my dog she seemed pretty chill. The place I used to go closed down so I was worried they might screw up the shave but they seemed to do a better job than the old place. So glad I don't have little black doggy hair all over my bed!!! My dog is a mini pinscher and shes super aggressive so I was worried that they might be a bit forceful with her but after a few belly rubs(definitely comes with experience) they seemed to know how to get friendly with my dog. Cost of shave: $40 Tip: $10 Not bad.. I went at 11am and they told me to come back at 2 but had me waiting until 2:30..... But this little service made up for it. Never go there. My dog had over 5 deep cuts and scars after a grooming session. I was able to manage my anger when i found out they were closed so i didnt get a chance to go scream at these people, but hopefully writing this review would do some justice. I mean 1-2 small cuts are understandable but it is clear that they think of pets that come in as objects. My dog was even bleeding inside both ears - look like scars from pulling ear hair agreesively. If you love your pet go else where please! read more
