The devil is in the details. We ate on a Monday afternoon and the place was not crowded the wait staff missed us coming in the door, we finally flagged down a server and got our table. My wife ordered the grilled salmon special and I had the two sushi roll lunch special My fork was dirty which was bad but I uses chopsticks instead to eat my salad. The ginger dressing was amazing and the lettuce crisp. The miso soup had seaweed and tofu but no onion or mushroom. My sushi reached our table 5 minutes before the salmon was brought out. The food was excellent! With a better wait staff and cleaner utensils this would have been a 5 star experience. read more

Absolutely love this place! Great food, good people. One of the waiters will complain and push for higher tips. It can really push away customers and almost made me not want to return. However, the other workers are so good and kind and the food will always bring you back for more. read more

this place is an absolute rip off, we had problems last time we came to where we just ended up leaving and i vowed to not come back because the boss was incredibly rude and said our order was too much and she didn't want to make it and she was extremely hard on the waiter but i decided to come back today because i was craving sushi and i decided to order it to go and i stood there for 15 minutes waiting for someone to take my order and when she does i asked for my bagel roll to be fried and she goes to ask them if they can do that and charged me $3 for it to be fried when they have always fried it, then also charged me another $3 to REMOVE avocado, i do not recommend this place i would rather drive 35 minutes to dozo in powdersville read more

Great spot for sushi. Me and my boyfriend always come here when I'm in town. He hates sushi but loves hibachi and I love both, so this is a perfect spot. They also have a full bar. The staff is always friendly and fast. They are kind of pricy though, you basically pay just as much as you would at steakhouse where they prepare the food in front of you. read more

Was in the area and wanted to try something new. This was a bad decision. The edamame had no salt and was cooked poorly. The service was so slow with a visible 3 servers on the floor and only 6 tables occupied. Two groups came in after us and were fed and gone before us. We had chicken and sushi that shouldn't have taken over 30 minutes to prepare. Everything was way over priced for the poor quality that it was. read more

I've been here a few times they have a great happy hour. The bar tender / server who has often waited on me is perfect. The food is normally pretty good it takes alil longer but that's ok. The other times I've been an older gentleman waited on me he wasn't friendly at all borderline rude. The last time I came he served me again still he looked almost upset I know it's not because I don't tip I've always left over 20%. The rainbow roll came out fairly quickly it didn't look or taste all that fresh and had some weird looking brown paste on one end. I didn't finish it. Plenty of Japanese restaurants in town but this is one of the few options for better quality sushi. The food is very good and the staff is friendly and willing to accommodate special requests. Only one sushi chef typically so if restaurant is crowded you are going to wait a bit for your sushi. Never tried the hibachi so can't comment on that although friends say it is very good. read more

Sushi and hibachi are very good. I had the Dynamite Roll and it had great flavor, fresh ingredients. However the service was strange. We were there with friends and my wife's hibachi came out before anything else, even the edamame. Then later, the salad and soup. Then the sushi tricked out, followed by my salad...then the edamame. A lady that was helping our Server dropped food off and said she was sorry, even though we had not complained, and that they were "slammed", however slightly half the tables were full. We still tipped well, you could tell Donna was really trying her best. We had fun, good food...just go with the flow when eating there. You never know who gets to eat first and in what order:) makes me wonder if we ordered dessert it probably would have come out first..LOL read more

I love this place, serves is nice and is convievant to be able to eat while my child shops around the mall. They have a full bar which is awesome and a liquer liscense for sundays which is awesome. Food is great, even though they dont cook it in front of you its takes the same, portions size is perfect, it keeps me from over eating, as for the sushi, i love it and the fact that you can subsitute and change things around. i recommend this place for sure! read more

The sushi is good but something is put in the hibachi that hurts my stomach terribly. I love Japanese food but this is the only place that puts some kind of spice that I cannot eat. The service is just okay. . But the sushi is the best if you're going to eat here. read more

My husband and I come here a lot- it's our favorite local sushi spot. Honestly, we haven't been to a TON of sushi places around, but we have been to a few and this is our favorite. Service is kind of slow when you first come in, but once you've placed an order, it seems to speed up.. I think maybe they're just understaffed? I've eaten at the downtown Greenville location too and it's not any better. The service is slow, the food is not good for the price they want you to pay. They couldn't even make my sushi right, I ordered the sea breeze roll which has lemon on it and they left the brine on the lemon making it extremely bitter and practically ruining the roll. My mother got the teriyaki chicken that came with a soup or salad. Well they didn't tell us it already came with salad so she ended up with two salads. I came her because of the good reviews. I ordered completely different from my norm of sashimi, nigiri and simple sushi rolls. I ordered a Bento Box that comes with Salad and Soup. I ordered the Ginger Dressing on my salad and the Miso Soup. The Salad was uneventful like most Japanese lettuce salads are but normally enjoy the ginger dressing.The dressing here was overly sweet somewhat like Thousand Island and tasted nothing like fresh ginger over flaccid lettuce. The Miso Soup was served without any garnish and lacked body. It was watery and flavorless and was served luke warm. Actually I don't think there a piece of tofu or green onion in it. The Bento Box came with a Shrimp Spider Roll, Crab Ragoon ,Tempura and some sort of Shrimp dumpling. Everything was greasy, everything was fried, except the dumpling. The wasabi and pickled ginger was of poor quality. I'm not sure what was inside of the roll. I was mushy and unidentifiable. The tempura was greasy on the outside with more tempura batter than vegetable and the vegetables were over cooked. The crab ragoon and dumpling are not my favorite so I can not share an opinion. I order Bento Boxes to have a small variety and this one did not do it for me. Bento Boxes should offer a variety of tastes and texture. I did let the manager know I felt that my order was not of good quality and they offered me a 20% discount. I accepted and gave it to my server. read more

While the food was good, my experience in the restaurant was not. I ordered for take out and while I was wanting to try something new, I ended up getting the same thing I always get. A man was to my left waiting to put my order in the computer and a woman was hovering over my shoulder talking the entire time I was trying to look at the menu. She was trying to explain it to me, but was more confusing than helpful. I felt rushed so I ordered chicken. Once I left with my order there was no silverware so I had to stop and buy some.
