Great place, good atmosphere, great tenderloin sandwich, great service. This place has good value for the price, staff was always attentive

We went for a quick lunch trip and sat at a high top in the bar area. There were a few people at the bar but the place was definitely not busy. We ordered two of the Buffalo chicken wraps which were the lunch special that day. After waiting about 25 minutes and beginning to wonder where our food was, our server (who was very nice) came by and told us she would check on our food. A few minutes later she returned with our wraps. The Buffalo chicken wrap was FANTASTIC and one of the best I've ever had, it was definitely worth the wait. Upon asking for the check and without us mentioning or complaining about the wait for our food, our server told us that they worked something out with the bill, apologized for our wait and wished us a good day. Stopped by on a Saturday night. It cooled off once the sun set, but they have a fire pit and that kept things warm enough. GF had the steak hoagie, loved it. I had a burger, which was a bit messed up, but the manager made good on it-and then some. Excellent fries. We'll be back :-) read more

Gloppy, yellow Italian dressing on a narrow plate that meant lettuce chunks fell off the side with each forkful. Pub pretzels that were dry and several rungs below those at the mall or a high school sporting event. Slow, slow service despite not being crowded. Probably won't return. read more

Birthday dinner out for two of us in the family. Our party of 6 walked in without at wait right around 4. The New York strip was fantastic. Others enjoyed the chopped steak, wings, and goat cheese bites. Great customer service and atmosphere. Appreciated the cake slices for our celebration. Highly recommend. We will be back. read more

While my husband and I were fans of The Gathering, tonight was our first time back since the restaurant changed to Murphy's. We had high hopes, but left disappointed. As others have noted, the side salad is bagged iceberg lettuce mix, doctored with a few spinach leaves and some tomatoes. We also had the clam chowder, which tasted like canned soup. We split the prime rib, which came out EXTREMELY overcooked....not at all how prime rib should be. It was not served with the au jus as advertised and there didn't taste as if there was any horseradish in the horseradish butter. Lastly the whipped potatoes tasted reheated. On a positive note, the wait staff was very friendly and accommodating. Not sure if we'll go back. Unfortunately there are not many similar options in the area. read more

I have been to this restaurant many many times and have never been disappointed by the service or the food. I have read the reviews and just remember you can't please everyone no matter what. The Bartender Denell is the best you can have. She always greets us with a smile and remembers our drink. This is just a very nice and relaxing place to have a nice lunch or dinner. read more

Very poor experience at this location. Went in right at then end of the Colts game on 5-Jan, couldn't be seated because they only had 2 servers. I counted 4. They had open tables but made us wait 20 minutes. When they did seat us, put us next to a cold window & "chef" came over to offer an appetitzer. Was only ready for someone to take our order but waited another 10 minutes with no server. Left without ever being approached by a server. BTW, hostess was on cell phone (texting/facebook?) most of our wait time. Don't go there!! read more

My wife and I were extremely disappointed last night at your establishment. We sat ourselves in the bar area at a table. We sat down at 7 PM and at 7:30 we got up and left. Nobody and I mean nobody ever acknowledged we were there, never received water a menu or nothing. Actually never even saw a waitress the entire 30 minutes we were there. Service is very poor! Servers are not attentive at all! Very disappointed in my meal as well. It's very sad because I was hoping something would finally work in the space but alas I guess not! This place has been bad for a while. Food is ok, bands they get are good, it's the people and staff. Overpriced, service is terrible, and they add in the tip line. So basically they steal from you. Not good bar tenders and unethical. read more

My mom and I were so excited to try this new restaurant out. Was shocked that the prices (even for lunch) were ridiculous. We just wanted a small lunch so we ordered their bean soup. The waitress talked us into a bowl vs a cup / yet the size of the bowl was like a small cup. The bean soup had hardly any beans in it- more like a few mashed beans - and it was mildly cold. You can get a much better soup (bigger portion and better tasting and less expensive) across the street at Lincoln Square. Waitress was very nice. Atmosphere was nice. This is another expensive restaurant attempting to make it at this location at Geist. This spot attracts the adult bar crowd and is too expensive for a family friendly meal or light lunch. There's no reasonable lunch menu (unless you want their pricy specials of the day) and we really didn't want a $35 steak or expensive heavy meal for lunch. We won't go back. read more

I really want Murphy's to do well because we have so few dining options in this neighborhood but my experiences so far leave much to be desired. Went with friends on opening night with low expectations but overall the food was good and service was great. Everyone had steaks that were cooked decently although the shrimp cocktail was a little too shrimpy and the sauce soaked into the bed of shredded lettuce making it impossible to eat. Harry and Izzy's shrimp cocktail it was not although the price was similar. I've since ordered takeout 3 times and the pickup time was grossly underestimated each time; I was always told 20 minutes but the wait ended up being more like an hour. Since I live two blocks away yet my food was cold each time I assume the waitstaff weren't checking on the to go orders. Murphy Frisco was a little dry and served without sauce and the mashed potatoes a little gluey. The focaccia on the Turkeyberry was in pieces - not sure it works with the goat cheese - and apart from the purple tint I would have never known there was anything berry about it. Bread pudding was served once with ice cream, albeit melted and warm, and once without. I'd never order anything I've had again aside from the steak. The ambiance is nice, more upscale and hip than that of The Gathering, drink selection is good and there are plenty of good options on the menu, I just think they need to tweak things a bit. read more

I really enjoyed a meal I had here within the first couple of weeks that they opened. Went back tonight -- a month or so later -- and my exact same sandwich had about half the amount of turkey on it. It was all bread. My son got a pork sandwich and it was the most pitiful looking thing -- again ALL BREAD. I was so excited to have a good restaurant open up in the neighborhood. We've been to Murphy's once for lunch, and once for dinner. Both times, were not that great. Maybe it's just better for a bar atmosphere than a restaurant, but the food was just not very good. Kind of bummed about this as it's so close to the house. We were hoping for a quick pop in place for after practices, or our daughters sports games. However, both times, our servers were very friendly, but the meals took a really long time to come out, and when they did, they left a lot to be desired. Even the plating was a bit off, my salad kept falling off the plate which was long and narrow, which didn't make much sense. Hopefully the food improves,as a lot of our neighbors were hoping for a nice quick place to grab a bit to eat on busy nights just like we are. If we hear it is, then we may be back. read more

I ordered the soup of the day which was presented as New England clam chowder. Nope, it was mushroom soup. Burgers ordered by my friends were over cooked. First off, the staff and especially the bartenders are some of he best people you will meet! They have a cool unique concept that caters to both families and adults looking for a night out. Their food is incredible, they have an AMAZING steak salad where they grill the lettuce (sounds weird but i promise It will open your taste buds to a whole new world). They have their signature cocktails on tap which is something you really only see in big cities. I highly recommend this place. read more

Murphy's food is excellent and the service and staff are great! The owners have done an excellent job with all of their locations but really like the modern layout and decor at Craft House!! Murphy's is not only great for dinner but also have some fun entertainment on occasions! We frequent here often and have not been disappointed. Murphys Crafthouse was decent, much better than the last 2 establishments at this location. Atmosphere and decor were very nice. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Drinks reasonably priced and large selection. Only issue was the food was just ok. The Crafthouse wings were very soggy, not sure if they had to sit a while waiting on our other food but they need to be crispier IMO. The side salad that comes with the entrees is laughable and underwhelming. Just a plate of lettuce with some cucumbers chopped up in it. They definitely need to rethink the side salad, add some cheese, croutons or something besides what you get. It gives off the perception they are trying skimp on it. We will be back but probably just sticks to drinks and a appetizer next time. read more

Our first visit to Murphy's overall was good. We were told there would be a 45 minute wait, but we were seated in under 30 minutes. It is good to know that they take reservations. The staff were all very friendly and the owner/manager came by a couple of times to see how we were doing. One of the staff (Kayrn) made very good recommendations-three of us decided on the pork tenderloin. Although mine came with cheddar cheese on it, which I did not order, the sandwich was delicious. Two in our party had burgers which were cooked to perfection. The only drawbacks were 1) our meal took over 30 minutes to arrive and our server seemed to take a while to get back with us after our meal to give us our check and 2) the live music, a duo, was very loud and made it difficult to converse- and we were on the far side of the room from the music. I think the consensus among us was that we will come back for another visit-many things on the diverse menu we want to try- and will trust that the service will be a little quicker next time. read more
