Left feeling a bit "meh." We came here for a birthday brunch on Sunday. A few observations: -surprised to see the place not packed for Sunday brunch. I've noticed that every breakfast/brunch/lunch place is filled to the brim with church goers this time of day. -Bloody Mary/mimosa bar. Fun! I didn't partake in anything due to recovering from fun the night before, but the rest of my table had great things to say. Related note- great choices for wines and draft beers, with fun chalkboard walls displaying what they've got -Brunch buffet and menu have amazing options. I went for the eggs Benedict, two others had the veggie omelet, and two others had the rib-eye. Speaking of rib-eye... -these steaks weren't very thick, but came out VERY rare. Not sure how a steak that wasn't thicker than an inch could still be rare after going on the grill. -The strawberries in my fruit cup had mold... good thing I saved those for last because I lost any appetite I had after that. The place has really great decor and lighting that gives it the vibe of a fun and swanky place to be, but honestly wasn't impressed that much with the food to come back with a large party. read more

Well I know where not to go on St Patty's Day. I thought I would give Murphy's craft house a try on St Patty's Day instead of Claddagh Irish Pub,the service was fairly good the food ( fish and chips) was fairly priced until we got the bill and was charged $8 a beer I have never paid $8 a beer at a bar in Indiana not trying to sound cheap but Indiana is not Chicago,LA,New York. So we left Murphy's craft house and went to Claddagh Irish Pub which for one more Festival and half the price of craft beer( Guinness, harp) sorry it's one thing going to a concert or a football game and paying $12 to $16 for a large beer but $8 for 12oz at a local pub in Indiana NO THANK YOU. For two consecutive visits to Murphy's at Geist we have received absolutely terrible service sitting at a table in the bar. Tonight, we arrived around 5:15 pm at sat at a table that needed to be cleared. The place was empty with only a few tables seated. We sat there for over 10 minutes while the wait staff and bartenders walked past us repeatedly or were chatting with Bar Patrons. Did not clean the table, did not offer water, simply we were ignored. We walked out. Similarly, last week the wait staff, (who was the Bartender) was inattentive while chatting with other patrons and after 15-20 minutes had to take my check to the bar to cash out! Always crowded, I'll give them credit for that. Food was ok pub food, but not "craft" food. Shrimp was advertised as "firecracker", but just tasted breaded and fried exactly like the cod. Two different shapes; same flavor. I had to ask for tartar sauce for fish and ketchup for fries - waiter didn't think to bring it. Pizza was supposed to be fireball bbq, but you couldn't taste the whiskey. No list of the draft beers on tap in menu or on board ( they just list the brewers, not the beers) so I had to ask the waiter to list them, He didn't know, so he pulled a list out of his apron and handed it to me, then seemed mad. We'll probably go back sometime because it's close; just with lowered expectations. read more

We live close to this establishment. We've been twice since it opened. The first time my husband ordered a very expensive steak - medium well and it came back bloody. I ordered a taco salad and the meat on was cold. They re- did the steak twice to get it right. The manager was nice and apologetic and took care of the bill. We thought we'd give it another try. My husband ordered the same steak the same way and it came back bloody again. In my opinion a restaurant serving a $32 steak, should know how to cook it. If the cut can't be cooked a certain way they should offer to butterfly it or recommend against ordering well-done. They took the steak back again and when the manager brought it out she remember us. I was surprised because the first time we were there was 4 or 5 months ago. But she did t give us a discount or anything!!! She said I remember you from before and I'm sorry. That was it. Not a great experience. Were told 10 minutes after ordering that a steak done Medium would take 30 minutes and they would serve kids food. 20 minutes later kids food arrives. 40 + minutes later adults were served a well done steak and and my burger was overcooked as well. Manager and owner came over and were very nice excepting the "we took it off the bill but thats the best we can do for you." They did offer a piece of cake for my brother but by then he had eaten a birthday dinner of all the kids food and just wanted to go home. Service was decent and they were training our server so allowances must be made but Lots of other places where your money will be better spent. read more

We stopped in on Thursday night because we learned a friend if ours would be playing music. We really like what they've done inside with the decor. I've been to Murphy's twice now, and while the staff is friendly, there are some major kinks to work out. On both occasions, we were seldom visited by our servers and water refills were never offered. The appetizer I ordered both times--the pretzels--were wildly different in each visit. The first time, they were great, and the seedy mustard dip was very good. But last night, oh boy, they were still raw dough and the amount of salt on top made the already inedible raw dough completely unappealing. My portabella salad was terribly week. There were a mere 3 pieces of mushroom on a bed of mixed green and a chunk of blue cheese rolled in a squishy nut mix. No other ingredients. It was a sad salad for $14. My dinner-mate's side salad was clearly bagged salad--the kind with little chunks of pre-cut carrot and red cabbage--and that was it! This place has enormous potential, the porch is wonderful and the bar was really festive when I was there during March Madness. But the food is not happening--the kitchen and menu need an enormous overhaul. I can't tell if they are going for an upscale feel (via the price point) or local pub. I'll definitely be back for a stop at the bar, but I wouldn't eat here again until the menu gets some TLC. read more

I always give new restaurants the benefit of the doubt when trying them for the first time and I award points for effort even if the outcome falls a little short. My wife, son and I arrived at around 5:15 PM and were immediately seated by friendly host staff. The ambiance is very open and modern, albeit quite loud, and the all staff who served us were attentive and and eager to please. My wife ordered the Portabello Salad and subbed in Steak and I opted for the charbroiled Salmon with a rice accompaniment that was prepared raisins or dates that offered a sweet and savory combination. The salmon was solid and accommodating and my wife's salad greens were fresh and very visually appealing. The flavor was good but lacked texture and variety. Perhaps some cherry tomatoes or grapes might have added some contrast to liven the texture. We love the sister restaurant on Olio Road so we will definitely be back. I ordered the Murphy's Frisco (double) and French Onion Soup via DoorDash delivery. The soup was very good. (I appreciated that the cheese and croutons were kept separate and I was able to add them to the soup and heat it up in the microwave so that the cheese melted and the croutons soaked up the yummy soup) I was very disappointed in the double Frisco, as there was very little (if any) cheese or sauce and the bread was very bland. Just tasted like an under seasoned and dry beef patty on plain bread. read more

My husband and I had a great first visit to Murphys today! We got there pretty early so nobody else was even there yet, but it did start filling in around noon, which I expected as the more "normal" lunch time. Our server was friendly and very polite. The interior of the restaurant is cool so we spent time looking around a bit while we waited on our food. The food was fantastic! I had the whiskey BBQ burger and my husband had the turkey sandwich, the name of which I forgot, but it was like Thanksgiving in a sandwich. It's almost shameful, but I licked some BBQ sauce off my fingers because it was that good. I also got sides of the braker sauce and bleu cheese - both were flavorful and overall awesome. I'm pretty sure they make the dressings themselves and potentially the hot sauce as well. The bleu cheese had a more subtle flavor and actual chunks of cheese as opposed to the bottled stuff that's overpowering and totally smooth. It was divine. Oh, and the fries are lightly seasoned, so I was extra happy about that. Overall a great first visit and I look forward to going back and trying something else - the menu had quite a few things that I wanted and picking just one was tough! read more

My wife and I stopped in for dinner last night. This was our 3rd time eating dinner there. The first time was right after they opened and the food was great. The second time still good but quality of the steak was less than it was the first time. But last nights food was terrible! The steak was so cold it wouldn't melt the butter they put on it. It was so stringy I couldn't hardly cut it. I sent it back to warm it up only to come back just as cold. The potato was cold and hard like it was from the night before or earlier in the week. My wife said her food was the same as mine. I could have had better food at Texas Roadhouse for a lot cheaper. We won't be back. read more

This is my new favorite restaurant! The food is incredible and the service is refreshing! A great atmosphere inside and outside there is a huge patio with a big fire pit. The entertainment on Wednesday's and Fridays makes it fun to unwind with a craft beer, draft wine or draft cocktail. I love that it's family friendly so kids can enjoy the music too! We love Murphy's Pub at 116th and Olio, but this restaurant didn't excite us. Nothing bad, but thought it slightly overpriced for what we got. Will continue to visit the Pub regularly, but will probably skip this one. read more

Very underwhelmed! Nothing about the place makes me think it will last any longer than anything else in that same location. Hostesses anything but, there seemed to be no joy in anyone's faces and conflicting info regarding bar seating given to many guests. My burger was not seasoned nor cooked to order (since when is medium completely brown) and arugula topping per menu was shredded iceberg (ick), husband's chicken in his salad was very dry. Server was very attentive but not enough of a reason to return unfortunately! It's too bad, not to worry El Rodeo many will be back. read more

Overhyped! Judging by the crowds over the last few weeks I was expecting this place to be awesome. The menu is basically the same as the Pubhouse down the street except 50% more expensive. The same exact ribeye that their other location serves for $19, they had on the menu for $29. Glasses were dirty. Napkins were dirty. When I mentioned to the hostess that they had people waiting around when 1/3 of the tables were empty, the look she gave me was dirty. We won't be going back. read more

My husband ordered the Whiskey BBQ burger cooked medium. It came out medium well-well done. I ordered the cod sandwich. While the flavor wasn't bad, it was mostly bun with a tiny piece of fish. We went on the 3rd night open so we knew it would be busy. However, the hostess was horribly misquoting wait times and the order of the guests. One guest questioned why another party that came in after them were seated first and the staff actually argued with them. They had been told 25 min and had already waited an hour. I was shocked by how the staff handled the situation. They lost 2 customers right there. We were finally seated and the food was ok. They advertised horseradish mayo. It it was straight mayo. The wine was good and the beer selection decent. We aren't in any rush to go back. read more

2/1/2020 at 7:00pm- Nice location, decor, and atmosphere. Many open tables, which is unusual for a Saturday night. In the past it has been an hour wait. Our waitress Ashley was exceptional!!! Very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I ordered a cheeseburger medium well. A friend ordered a salad with chicken breast. We were a table of 4 and our meals arrived at different times. 2 meals were fine. My cheeseburger arrived rare. I sent it back to be cooked medium/well. It came back medium/rare. Manager asked if I wanted to get it well done. I said yes. It came back medium/well and tasted great. She told my friend that the chicken was completely cooked, the ambient light made it look like it was uncooked. But back in the kitchen if was definitely cooked. She then gave him a new plate that was the next order up. The chicken was completely cooked. Issues: I know medium/well is no pink. Don't tell me I am wrong and need a well cooked cheeseburger. We know fully cooked chicken isn't light yellow and slimy in the center. Don't tell my friend the chicken was cooked when it wasn't. Because of the cook and the manager, we will not return. Make sure you dont get the guy called Matt he practically ignores you and takes forever to check on you We had to wave at him to order our food. He just had no sense of friendliness. M, V, G, and I went there a couple of days ago. When seated M's chair was wet mine had food on it. The hostess cleaned up and left us 2 menus (for 4 people). When the waitress arrived we ask her to dry our table and she replied that they prefer the table wet so that the place mats don't move. Three of us ordered the Fish and Chips. Our order arrived after an extremely long wait. M's Fish and Chips did not arrive. V's food was fine. G's and mine were 4 small chunks of fish, overcooked on the outside cold on the inside. M's food arrived in about 10 minutes. Completely different fish, he received more fish cooked well, but with so much breading that he left most of it on his plate. This is the second time in the past month we have been here for dinner, waited an hour and a half for our food and ended up having to get it to go. Host was great. Server was great. Drinks were brought quickly. Spent $90 and ended up getting food to go only to get home 5 minutes later with cold food and a burger that was missing the blue part of the bourbon and blue. It was boxed up to go minutes before we left so it should have still been hot. We paid before the food even came out. Also we had planned to purchase a $100 gift card for a friend for Christmas, but decided against it based on the past 2 experiences. read more

Problem with this place is inconsistency; inconsistency in service and food quality. Our family has been here 4-5 times. Sometimes, the manager comes out and checks on you, the service is excellent and the food is pretty good. Other times, you wait and wait and wait for your server to return and the manager is nowhere to be found. The wings are supposed to be one of "their things". They're OK. Sometimes they're good, other times they're pretty bland. The burgers are a safe bet, but that's hard to screw up. We've also been to the bar for drinks. The service is mediocre to bad. Surly bartenders combined with waitresses who don't have time for you abound. Beware as this place is a crapshoot... read more

First and foremost the wait staff was great the building was beautiful. We started off with the sweet potato Stacker with the candy pork belly and it was great. I got clam chowder next which was probably the best I've ever had and I've had it made fresh in Florida and California. I ordered a 20 ounce New York strip on the baked potato I got my steak cut into it I ordered it medium came out rare so I sent it back cooked to medium they brought it back in about 3 minutes still rare to Mid rare. So finally I just got a box and I took it home enjoy it there. But this would have easily been a 5-star review had they been able to get my steak correct. read more

This is by far my favorite place to eat . So glad they finally got a restaurant in the area worthy for a family or friends to meet and have a great meal. I especially love the live entertainment most nights and unique events they are always planning. My favorite dish is the Beef Oscar. Which consists of beef medallions with a crab cake on it drizzled with hollandaise sauce. It also includes asparagus, wild rice and a choice of soup or salad. I also crave their boneless wings that are done in a sriracha dry rub. It not too hot and they have a lot of flavor. Came in this Saturday at 7pm. Wait time was about 30 minutes which was not a problem and to be expected at this time of night. Grabbed a great draft beer at the bar where service was amazing. The bartender even came around the side of the bar to check on us. We ended up getting a great corner table in the bar area. Food was fantastic but I forgot to take pics. We had the sweet potato fries appetizer and it was awesome. My brother had a burger which he loved and I had the B.E.L.T. It was very tasty. The service was phenomenal.
