I would avoid this place at all costs. Save your money and go to another dentist. While some of the employees here may be knowledgeable, the level of professionalism is seriously lacking. I brought my mom in for a dental cleaning, and the entire appointment took over two hours--most of which was just us waiting for the doctor, who only showed up in the last 10 minutes. They told us she needed a deep cleaning and other treatments and that they'd need to get insurance authorization. A week later, they called to schedule the appointment, but when asked about the authorization, they suddenly said it wasn't needed. Then yesterday, they called again to say the authorization had just been received. There's been nothing but confusion, miscommunication, and inconsistency--especially around what's actually needed and what the costs are. This kind of experience is not something anyone should have to go through when trying to get care for a loved one. read more

First off, let me start by saying that I have EXTREME anxiety when I go to the dentist. It's something I've been dealing with my entire life! I had a cracked tooth and knew that I had to go get it fixed. Let me say the staff at MURRIETA DENTAL STUDIO along with the dentist Dr. Hernandez are AMAZING! His assistants helped me get thru my anxiousness and anxiety so well! Dr Hernandez has very calming bedside manners that eased my tension aswell! They were very truthful about how my pain would feel at specific times but assured me it would go away! My crown looks perfect and I am pain free! Highly recommend them! I don't understand all the good reviews at all. I was misled by them and decided to switch over to this dentist since it is so close to my job. Right off the bat, it took forever for Dr. Hernandez to finally come in and see me, so wasn't a fan of that. After he finally looked everything over, he told me 2 of my fillings needed to be redone even if I didn't feel any pain or sensitivity there, but I believed him. HUGE mistake. After he redid the fillings, one of them started hurting so much, to the point where I can't even eat on that side anymore and hurts to the touch period. I went back to them several times, telling them it hurt only to be turned away and told there was nothing wrong, doctor literally shrugged his shoulders at me. I ended up going to another dentist as an emergency and he redid the filling again because he said it was a bit loose, which helped, but I was referred for a root canal evaluation anyways. Lo and behold, I need a root canal/crown on that tooth now. I will say, the hygienist is great and I'm sorry to not have my cleanings done by her, but I just don't trust Dr. Hernandez to do any work on me ever again. read more

Guess I caught Jessica who works in the front office on a bad day? She took the liberty of not only canceling my appointment which I booked well in advance, but also proceeded to give me a bunch of lies in a weak attempt to cover herself. Rewinding in time to when I initially booked my appointment, the receptionist asked for my dental information which I didn't have available at the time. I asked if there was a new patient form I could fill out online and submit that way, and she said yes if I go to the website, there is a form online. Only issue is, when I went to the website, the form was only a printable version not one I can fill out and submit through the website. I figured it would be OK for me to arrive to my appointment early and just fill out the new patient form then as is the case in any other dental office I've been to, however after three calls/voicemails and one text in one day I realized that apparently it was super urgent that they get my information. I called the office four minutes after I received the text and reached the lovely Jessica. I explain that I have received multiple calls and I'm calling to provide my dental information. Jessica then launched into a long unnecessary explanation of why they had called me so much. I thanked her for that information, and then again asked if I could provide my insurance information. She then said she wanted to clarify why they reached out to me so much. I again said that's great Jessica can I please provide my insurance information. She put me on an extended hold appearing never to come back, so I hung up and called the office again. It's still me, Jessica, did you forget about me? After making me verify my first and last name again, (even repeating my first name twice as if she didn't realize it was the very same person. She spoke to before) Her response was oh yes, we canceled your appointment due to not hearing back from you with your insurance information. She then told me that they needed four hours prior to the office closing to process the insurance information and the office closed at five so I was too late. I said OK Jessica thank you and hung up. I then went to the text to see the timestamp on it. The text asking me for my insurance information was sent at 4:49 PM. I called the office at 4:53 PM so I'm sorry Jessica, if you guys need four hours to process the information, why am I receiving a text 11 minutes before the office closes. Also, on your website it says the office closes at six on Thursdays so either they're closing early or the website is incorrect, which is understandable things like that happen, however I find it incredibly difficult to believe that my appointment was given away within four minutes. Hopefully the office manager sees this and recognizes the inappropriate and completely unprofessional conduct of this particular employee. read more

Hygienist is great and will not say anything negative about the rest of my experience. All I know is definitely get a 2nd opinion just needed 3 fillings for cavities and not 6 or needed a crown. Left a piece of metal had to pay out of pocket intense pain the previous year from 3 root canals and go to on one tooth Endodontist had to fix left a piece of metal behind. read more

Do not go here if you are scared of the dentist. He will get you high and leave you sitting in the chair. When you wake up two hours later you won't be done. Just leaves you in the chair. Said he was there the whole time except for when I woke up. So you said it would take one hour. But you just sat there for two waiting for me to wake up. Then left right before I woke up. Then told me I was told that only an impression needed to be done but I refused. Like if you weren't in the room how did you say this? Then wanted to give me more drugs to out me to sleep for an impression. Now I may be scared of a root canal or extraction but an impression? Then kept calling me young lady trying to be cute as I am in my 40's. Then once mad told me he didn't want me crying in his chair. Just out of line for a professional. Especially to treat a woman that way. Would like to see if I were a man if he would have acted all macho. The staff even admitted that they were upset with him after I left. Why would they be if everything was done right? Now I have to get my money back which was paid in full and find a new dentist to finish. read more

I've never had a worse experience in my 50 years at any dental practice. The dentist himself is incredibly nice, but not competent. I had a root canal performed there and a tip of the metal instrument broke off and was left inside my canal. Unfortunately, it's not something that can just be pulled out easily. It is going to require me to visit an oral surgeon and cost thousands of dollars now that they'll also need to pull the tooth and replace it with an implant. I have given Dr. Hernandez several months to fix it, but they're ignoring my messages and offered only to pay to have my tooth pulled. I have several attorneys willing to take my case because it's causing health issues and numbness in my face and to the top of my head. I'm being referred to a neurologist, and will have to undergo tests and see different specialists as it's affected my nerves. I will attach a picture of the X-ray when I find it. read more

Doctor Hernandez does everything he can to make me feel comfortable when I am anxious about dental work. He also makes it a point to talk to my kids, who are 7 and 9, frequently so that they are distracted and not uncomfortable or scared. The girls at the front office are friendly, respectful, and polite. They have helped us work around our busy schedule and always give us their complete attention. We are always greeted with smiles. Furthermore, they have done everything they can to help us get the extensive amount of dental work we needed done covered under our insurance. I've been going to this office for a long time, when Dr. Hernandez took over I was hesitant about seeing someone new. I needed work done so I saw him. One of his hygienists was so amazing and made me have a great experience(Go Kings)! When it came time to see Dr. Hernandez everything went downhill unfortunately. The first time I went home in so much pain and The following appointment I was in so much pain when he gave me the anesthetic. I never felt this much pain before but he didn't seem fazed by my pain only asked if I wanted to stop but at this point I was so numb now. I was hesitant to try a new dentist - who wouldn't be, but just like Dr. Evans, Dr. Hernandez is honest and won't try to take you to the cleaners. Also very impressed with his hygienist, office staff and his prices are very reasonable - especially since I don't have dental insurance.
