I really wanted to love Kitsu Nori, but my experience landed squarely in the middle. On the positive side, the hand rolls are absolutely the highlight. The fatty tuna and Maine lobster were easily the standouts, both rich, fresh, and perfectly balanced. Honestly, those two alone are worth ordering again. The other rolls: tuna, salmon, and hamachi were solid as well and could easily hold their own. That said, the crudos were a letdown. The hamachi crudo in particular looked more like escolar, which was a bit off-putting, and overall the dishes lacked the same freshness and punch of flavor as the hand rolls. For the price point, they felt pretty underwhelming. Service was another issue. With only two people running the floor, things already felt stretched thin, but Jared in particular made the experience worse. He seemed far more focused on bussing tables than actually taking care of guests, and his attitude came off as dismissive, snapping at both customers and coworkers rather than being attentive or welcoming. It put a noticeable damper on the meal. Overall, great hand rolls, but inconsistent food and lackluster service make it hard to justify a higher rating or a return trip with other (better) options scattered around town.

I highly recommend making a reservation first since it's such a small space. We were lucky and got seat seats at the bar where you can see the chefs making the food. The hand rolls were all amazing and they have such an interesting way of presenting them that I have not seen before. I love that the sushi rice is pink-- the chef uses beet juice to make it that color. The cocktails were also really good and really strong. Everything about this place was great. We'll definitely be back again. I also highly recommend the mushroom salad. It was so good.

Went back last night, just as fantastic as 2 weeks ago. Great service and great vibes. They accommodated our group of 6 and went above and beyond! Tried the eggplant handroll this time and it was so good!

I have never heard of Kitsu Nori until my husband booked it for date night. It wasn't plastered and advertised all over IG by food bloggers. It's a new sushi spot that recently opened at the end of 2025. Parking is limited but we utilized the Chipotle parking lot next door. Entry is through the courtyard and once you walk through the doors you are greeted with a very intimate cozy modern setting. Service was superb and we had a nice time chatting and getting our servers recommendations. The food was everything I could ask for and more! All the fish and uni on our hand rolls were fresh! Our favorites were the Uni, Hamachi, Mushroom, Fatty Tuna and Blue Crab. What was unique to me was that they give you the seaweed on the side and place the fillings in the hand roll holder that has a tab. The tab allows one to easily lift and place the fillings on the piece of seaweed. I really enjoyed the whole experience. We also tired the American Waygu dish which were really enjoyed. The steak had a nice crust and was cooked perfectly. The au poivre sauce was perfection. It was creamy and the black peppercorn taste paired perfectly with the steak. My husband wanted to drink the sauce itself. What made our night even more special was meeting Paul Qui, the owner himself! My husband and I will definitely be back for more date nights here! Do yourself a favor and book a reservation here now!

We had a blast at Kitsu Nori! Think Uchi level food, but take the service up 2 notches. In other words, the service was as incredible as the food! We tried a bunch of everything , you really cannot go wrong here. My call outs - Get the lobster, it's way more convenient than eating it in a steakhouse at 3X the flavours - hand rolls were 10/10 - the mocktails were delicious, not on menu but they accommodated with two options! Note - the have this really cool, more relaxed outdoor seating patio which had a bar seating area too! Plenty of parking We are guaranteed to be back!

I think we ordered every roll on the happy hour menu lol they probably have one of the best HH in town. It's 50% off for all hand rolls. My favorite was the lobster handroll. It was so creamy and buttery. One unique thing about this place is that the nori/seaweed comes out on the side and you have to wrap it yourself to ensure it's crispy when you are ready to eat vs at other places, the seaweed can taste too soft/soggy by the time you get to eat it. Outside of HH, seems like it's pretty expensive for the portion you get. I like that this place has both outdoor and indoor seating. Very cool atmosphere! Service was very slow but everyone was polite.

Overall a 4.5. The TDLR is that the fish here is really great quality, but you're also paying for it as portions are very small. Mushroom salad - good amount of mushrooms (had to be mixed up from the bottom because I didn't see them at first). Fresh leaves, light and not overpowering dressing. Hit the spot but not mind-blowing. Salmon butter: a chunk of salmon, and then roe, grated egg white, grated egg yolk, creme fraîche, slivers of onion, something crunchy. You mix these together, squeeze the lemon wedge, and then eat it with tostada. The quality of this salmon was incredible. The salmon was only warmed through so it was in that liminal space between being raw and cooked where the salmon itself becomes super smooth and was a great texture that is hard to achieve. But overall, the seasoning wasn't quite right. Too much creme fraîche (i didn't even mix it all in for fear of losing the salmon flavor) and I had to ask for more salt to just "pick up" the flavor. Much better once I did. The handrolls are truly excellent. I got scallop and fatty tuna. It's really the quality of the fish here that shines. The scallop was tender and sweet. The negitoro sang in my mouth. Sitting at the bar, I got to watch other dishes being prepared. The hamachi crudo (four slices of hamachi) looked great and again it's the quality of the fish that shines. The block they sliced the hamachi from was so smooth and buttery looking I thought it might have been escolar at first. Note however that the handrolls here are about the size of a nigiri. Not necessarily a bad thing but something to be aware of. I think the amount of fish in the handroll is actually similar to that of the handrolls at Musashino (I was actually sitting at the sushi bar eating handrolls at Musashino about 40 mins before I then did the same at kitsu nori, long story). I saw the wagyu carpaccio being made and it took a while to even understand what it was because it seemed like the thinnest slices and tiniest portion. I'm not someone who won't pay for quality (I have happily paid to eat at tsuke edomae multiple times), but there were some things here that raised my eyebrow. The saving grace to the prices and why I would be happy to eat here is that this place is on the in-kind app (at least for now). Ambiance: This relatively new restaurant has snagged itself a surprisingly nice location and would be an excellent place for a date. Can't tell from the street but there's plenty of parking, the outside courtyard is cute and casual (with tv and fire pit) but then the inside feels very intimate with a lovely ambiance. The inside is quite small - just a few tables and then the bar. Bar is great for solo dining. Servers all friendly and seem happy to be there.

Myself and my best friend came to eat last night. We were celebrating a promotion and we had the best time, the inside is gorgeous, the food was beyond amazing with the help of Jayce our server recommending dishes. He gets a 10/10 for service, he was fantastic. We loved "making" the handrolls! We will be back soon!

Two words, mushroom handroll - get it! It was MY FAVORITE! Would come back and order 5 of them for my meal. Chips and crab dip is also good. Other rolls were OK, not as outstanding as the mushroom. Also tried the Toro Cashew app, wasn't a fan of the sauce, needs some citrus. They keep the nori (seaweed) separate and you get to assemble the handroll together before eating . This keeps the nori from getting soggy if pre-assembled. There is a parking lot and you enter behind the building.

4.5 stars Beautiful space. Food was generally pretty good. Food: Hamachi crudo - delicious A5 wagyu handroll - very good but didn't think it was worth the $25 Toro handroll - delicious Mushroom handroll - delicious Scallop handroll - very good Blue crab - very good

Handrolls were fresh and good. It was fun sliding the handroll off the display and wrapping it with seaweed. Will definitely be back for more and want to try other options offered.

Kitsu Nori is located on South Congress in the same complex where East Side King was. I was expecting just a small restaurant but it also encompassed the whole hidden courtyard patio that you actually enter from in the back. That space is really nice and spacious, and almost feels like an outdoor sports bar with its own bar and TV. I came here for dinner on a Thursday night. I made a reservation but it wasn't too busy yet so it wasn't needed, as I don't think people have quite caught on. We sat at the really nice sushi bar counter. The inside got decently busy while I was there but there was still a lot of room outside if needed. I got a glass of the junmai sake and it's a very generous pour in a large wine glass. If you want better quality, some of my go-to favorites like Dassai and Demon Slayer are on the menu. We tried a few things on the menu: - Chips & Dips - Tasted like a cleaner version of a smoked fish salad with chunks of crab and nice bright bursts of salmon roe. I can see this as a solid appetizer for the upscale sports bar feel outside. - Hamachi Crudo - My favorite bite of the night. Perfectly balanced. The hamachi flavor is enhanced by the bright sweet and sour citrus from the orange pieces, bergamot oil, soy and yuzu from the ponzu, and spice from the slivers of serrano. I was able to taste every element as they all enhanced one another. - Spicy Tuna Handroll - Comes topped with their own chili crunch. They said their chili crunch doesn't have salt, which would normally be fine but I do feel the handroll as a whole was lacking salt. I didn't get any bright flavors and it tasted muted and one note. - Fatty Tuna Handroll - Really enjoyed this handroll because it's similar to one of my favorite tuna sushi preparations - a negi tori gunkan. Minced tuna and green onions are a match made in heaven. I love getting it at Kura Sushi and the convenience stores in Japan. - Maine Scallop Handroll - I love scallops but this ate a bit too sweet to me. If I got it again, I'd prob add a few drops of soy. - Uni Handroll - I love uni and this handroll honors it by keeping it simple and pure. The uni pieces were large and plump, and were sweet and fresh with no fishiness. If anything, there may have been too much of the aged temari on it but I also may prefer uni just on its own with rice and nori. The handrolls here come presented in a very smart way to ensure optimum nori texture on your own timing, as well as wiggle room if there's delays in service getting it to your table. The server explains if it's your first time - pulling out the filling from the wooden block it is on and dropping it on a fresh sheet of nori. It took me a few tries before settling into the appropriate muscle memory (mine was tipping it on its side a bit left of center, and sliding it off onto the nori by pulling the block to the right and up). I also envision this would be the best way to have handrolls delivered. I've actually gotten Yuki's handrolls delivered as a test and the seaweed was so wet and chewy by the time it got to me. As we were closing out, our wonderful server told us about the amazing happy hour they have from 4-5:30pm with half off handrolls, crudos and I think some beverages. Definitely will come back to take advantage of that. Also pro tip: Kitsu Nori is on the inKind app where you can pay your bill, so you can get rewards, use offers, as well as purchase dining credits at a discount. Costco also consistently has $100 e-gift cards for $75.

We came here with 2 other couples for a friends date night and we really enjoyed it. The space is small and intimate, the staff was amazing. For food, the hamachi crudo is a must. For the hand rolls, I really liked the presentation and enjoyed putting it together with the nori wrap. Everything we ordered was good, but my favorites are the Scallop and Fatty Tuna. Lastly, the fact we can pay using inKind is a plus.
