UPDATE: The women get the job done nicely with their massages 90% of the time. Lily and Tina were awesome. Although the 2nd time Tina massaged me it was a weaker less intense massage, (probably tired). However, I recommend getting their package deal; 5 sessions or 10 sessions paid in advance, cause it will save you money in the long run. My nose is usually stuffed by the end of the hour deep tissue massage, which means they are doing what they are supposed to do, get rid of the toxins and relieving pressure points. Like many of the others stated, if you can overlook the "no frills" environment and focus on the types of massages they offer you'll be satisfied. I have been receiving massages about every two weeks and I feel this is sufficient time in between massages. Parking can be tough. But there is a dedicated metered parking lot directly across the street from Muse. OR you can take your chances and park in the parking lot of the bank . You could get towed. So you've been warned. ALSO: I recommend TEXTING with them when you are communicating appts cancellations etc. some people on here have complained they cannot reach them over a voice call. Okay, so I've been here on at least 6 or 7 occasions and going to get down to the nitty gritty of the good ole Muse spa... First and foremost, unless you come on a day where you are the only person, you will NEVER and I mean never get complete silence due to the fact that there are no doors and is literally separated by curtains, you can hear the slaps on the skin of the person on the bed on the other side of the "wall" You hear every single word of every single person in the waiting area, front desk, the workers.. Just everyone, everywhere. I've gotten massaged and a facial by all of the girls, some better than others, some great the first time and not great the next (my experience) The prices are very affordable via Groupon as it's an incentive to purchase their much higher prices once you're there. You can use Groupon one time, and they now include a small Groupon free. I obviously on a budget and an officer just needed to decompress... if you're looking for something high-end, this is NOT IT! Swedish massage is a waste and does nothing, so you're better off going with a deep tissue and telling them what pressure you're comfortable with. They ALWAYS include a free hot stone massage lol .. it's their thing and at the end, they are extremely pushy about what you should be tipping them and buying packages for $400-$500, they will literally stay with you and tell you it's only for today... like a said, for someone just looking for basic and cheap, then give it a shot, definitely a hit or miss for me and never had an issue making an appt, just always text. read more

Let me first start by saying one star is given because I cannot give zero stars. My husband booked the massage for the both of us. I had an 11 am appointment which did not start until 15 minutes later without so much as an apology. Massage was subpar, no one asked how I liked the massage let alone what I did not like, the place was clean. After my husband's massage a woman stepped out to tell me that she did not want either of us to ever return. I was perplexed as I had no understanding as to why she was so rude. She proceeded to tell me that my husband was not happy that he did not receive 1 hour massage and she was upset because he decided not to tip as he was shortchanged with his service. Imagine paying for an hour massage that starts late and ends before the time after you had paid in full online for an hour. To make matters worse she confronts me in the lobby quite loudly with other business around to here her tell me that I am no longer welcomed there anymore. Take your chances and waste your money if you like, but there are other massage spa businesses with people with better business etiquette than this place. Anyone in the service industry knows that is not how you treat customers and it brings bad reputation to your business. A tip is voluntary not mandatory and one should not be greedy for it, but instead find out how to improve your service to your clientele so that you might receive a tip and not push away your customers. read more

Only massage the back of your body the front which is weird because I paid for a full body massage. The facial she barely did anything regarding extractions and had me laying on my back for over 30 minutes "waiting for mask to dry". Everything for facial was not even in the same room she kept going in and out. And she very pushy about how much to tip "$20 to $30" for tip like are you serious. I def would never go back! I am very shocked at the level of service for the location it is in! I loved the massage, I loved the woman who did the massage. It was the attempt at making an appointment, the appointment making and the after the experience that was terrible. I called to make an appoint and no one answered, that was fine. I kept calling and there is no voicemail. Someone finally called me back and it was a very rude call, they demanded that I wanted a 60 min massage but I wanted 90 min and it was a Groupon. They didn't take my name or number to confirm. I get there and it was wonderful. In the end, I was asked to make another appointment and I was going to, I told them that I had another Groupon for a different service than I had received. The Groupons were gifts. One was for a 90-minute massage the other is for a 60 minute with cupping session. The woman told me the second was invalid and I can't use the same Groupon twice. It isn't the same Groupon, so she said that I must convert the Groupon into a gift card for what I paid and then pay the difference. No! Why would I do that? I went to tip at the end, I wanted to tip $10 and they demanded that I tip $20 and ran my card for it. I will never go back. To think, I would have been a long time customer. First off, the place is in a time warp down a set of steps into a creepy shared waiting room complete with plastic covered couch. Not very spa-like or zen. Appointment for 6PM, I had to go in & was told running late. Ok, could happen but was told this at 6PM. Then woman came out to get me & immediately asked about payment (before service). When I said I purchased a series of 4 Groupons, that's when things got UGLY. "Chloe" told me that I could only use 1 & to contact Groupon for a refund on balance. Groupon does NOT refund as I was told they would. Told me f they allowed me to use all Groupons it would put them out of business! The "massage" was more like a beating & not very therapeutic nor relaxing. I have been to many a spa & find it hard to believe that this provider is a licensed professional. When I called following day to advise that contrary to what they said, Groupon will NOT refund remaining certificates that they would not honor. Also told me "Chloe" no longer there. Funny, because Chloe told me that she was there 5 years & happy there! Evidently she left the next day without notice??? Something VERY illegal going on here. Reported to Westchester Dept of Consumer Affairs & NYS Licensing in Albany. They are scammers who try to get you in there & then try to sell you their own packages. My first visit was a Groupon. Loved the massage- Sally was great. At end I decided to buy a very inexpensive package- 10 massages, 2 cupping for $ 400. Just had my second massage with cupping yesterday and LOVED it. I will continue to frequent Muse especially because it is walking distance from where I reside. Only downfall is being able to hear what is going on at the front desk, somewhat annoying- but it really is a great massage and very inexpensive - I can deal with a bit of background chatter. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this location. In summary these are the things that I experienced : - My appointment started after 6:15 for a 6pm appointment - The draping was very lax and I felt exposed more than once - The therapist placed barely warm stones on my back and said "I'll be back in ten minutes". Stones should never just be left on a client for an extended period of time while the therapist leaves to go do other things. She returned 15 minutes later. - Most of the session was spent working on my back. The backs of my legs were touched briefly, the front of my legs were never touched, my arms and neck were briefly worked on and about 30 seconds on each foot. - The session ended with the therapist lifting my feet into the air and dropping them on to the table multiple times. This was NOT a pleasant sensation. - For the last 20 minutes of my session I could hear the woman in the next room aggressively selling packages to her clients. She kept saying things like "Body good, money bad" and "Only $400, you can give me $300 today and $100 next time". I felt harassed for the poor woman who kept declining and ended up buying a small package anyway. My therapist began to try to sell me a membership on the way out but I refused quickly. - When I was about to walk out the door I was told I needed to pay my "Groupon tax" of $3 dollars. When I was quick to say no and inform her that all taxes were paid to groupon, she practically stuttered, checked my phone number and said "oh, okay, you paid". So they are definitely trying to hustle people out of additional money. Overall the experience was horrendous from top to bottom. The massages are sub-par and it's VERY clear these are absolutely not New York State licensed massage therapists. Their main focus is trying to juggle multiple responsibilities at once (which is why my massage started late and during my 15 minutes of stones on my back I could hear her helping other people) and hustling people out of money. read more

I had my first reflexology experience at Muse in Hastings. It was a very calm, peaceful experience. Very thorough. The practitioner worked on my neck and back as a I sat soaking my feet. Then he began to work on my feet. The sensation swung from soothing to intense, but the overall experience was one of being very carefully attended to. My feet never get much attention and the pressure points he addressed seemed to relieve muscle pains at many spots in my body. I plan to go back. We got there a little early and they still made us wait for about 20mins or so. We got in the couples room and my wife got started while they put hot stone on my back because my masseuse was not yet ready. The massage was terrible they charged us $15ea more for deep tissue and the lady just oiled me up and rolled some pointy thing up and down for 40mins. I dont know why, but the lady keeps leaving the room during the massage for 4 times that happened. The massage feels like she was in a hurry keeps rolling that car like with pointy wheels on my back. Had a massage there midday during the week with a Groupon with the hope of finding a cute small spa in the Rivertowns. The actual massage was good, thorough and the woman adjusted the pressure points when she was going too rough in one spot. But, this isn't where you go for relaxation or zen. The rooms are partitioned with thin screens and curtains and you can hear absolutely everything around you including noise in the hall outside of the spa. Furthermore at the end of the massage I was lifted into a sitting position and the massuse started pounding on my back with her fists wth?! At the end they try to coerce you into booking again. Absolutely inexcusable "customer service" complete with bait and switch tactics and flat out rudeness. Tl;dr: Made multiple appointments for couples' massage and they cheated us. The place is cheap and ordinarily I would say "hey, you get what you pay for", but we got literally nothing. They refused service and we had to go through Groupon customer service to fight for a refund. Long version: We booked a couples' massage via Groupon and made an appointment for a Saturday, in the usual way. We were called an hour before the appointment asking us to reschedule because they couldn't get a second masseuse. Not ideal, but we agreed to their offer to reschedule for the following week. The day came, we had planned a whole vacation day around it, and we got a call 4 hours before our appointment telling us we couldn't have a couples' massage because another couple was there. When I protested, the person on the phone only offered separate rooms at different times for us. She would not acknowledge their mistake and refused to provide the service for us, then hung up the phone on me mid-sentence saying "I'm busy right now I'll call you later -- click". No phone call ever came, my return calls were not answered, conflict was never resolved, and I had to go through Groupon customer service to get a refund. Their strategy of rebooking us pushed us outside groupon's usual returns window and I am very suspicious that this is purposeful in an effort to get people in the door and then jack up prices. Luckily we managed a refund and found another massage parlor who was willing to exchange money for massage at a pre-arranged time (I.e. understands what an appointment is). In short: you get less than you pay for and this place is running a hustle. Avoid at all costs. Had I looked closely at their reviews and not fell for the "discount deal", I would never have touched this place. read more
