Dinner at Musume was absolutely delicious. It had been a long time since I'd eaten sushi this memorable. The standout was the Black Cod Misosuka, marinated for 72 hours in sweet miso. It was incredibly tender, rich, and flavorful--easily the most memorable dish of the evening. We also shared the Sashimi Lovers Platter, and every piece was exceptionally fresh, delicate, and so tender it practically melted in my mouth. We finished with the Wrath Roll, which combines salmon, tuna, yellowtail, avocado, cucumber, sesame seeds, kizami wasabi, and smoked soy. It had a great balance of flavors and textures--the richness of the fish and avocado, the freshness of the cucumber, and just enough wasabi and smoked soy to give it a distinctive finish without overpowering the fish. The restaurant is beautifully appointed, upscale, and very comfortable. Jared, our waiter, was helpful throughout the evening and made an already wonderful experience even better. From the food and service to the atmosphere, everything was exceptional. I honestly think Musume may be the best sushi restaurant in the Metroplex--and if there is a better one, I want to know about it so I can try it next. Stopped in for some lunch on the while walking down to the DMA. I don't believe the sushi rolls I got are worth what I paid. Very nice restaurant. Service was a bit slow. But I got average rolls and they were just that, average. After a lovely #getalife comment from someone in house. I would like to follow up that the rolls came out in a timely matter but our service was slow. First thing first: ask for Haley when you come in. Amazing server! The space is big and busy, but they've arranged it in a way that you wouldn't notice if that's the case. When it came to food it exceeded our expectations. My friends and I decided we wanted to try their "Girl Dinner" offering. It included a "small" Caesar salad, some roasted corn on the cob, and half a portion of a sushi roll which honestly felt like more than half. It was plenty of food, plus it included a martini. We also ordered a couple of extra rolls and an app which were delicious, and one additional cocktail each. They were all yummy. The dessert they brought for my birthday was the tempura ice cream and pound cake and oh my goodness... we all devoured it. I wish I would've gotten an additional one! The best part was the service. Not sure how many more days they're doing their restaurant week menu but it is great! We loved the beef potstickers and the salmon sashimi. Their smoky soy sauce is so unique as is whatever the wasabi relish situation is. All the other sashimis we had were great and the fried icecream was sinfully yummy. Visited Musume over the weekend for a nice date night! We really loved the dim sum (not pictured) but be careful, the spicy mustard is HOT. all of the fish was very fresh and had interesting pairings. The Smokey soy sauce was really good on the wrath roll, but I also liked it in regular soy sauce! Our service was quick and we were only there for about an hour! Came on a Thursday evening (with 6 other ladies) for their advertised "Miso and Martini" - their version of "Girl Dinner". You have a choice of martini (espresso, lychee, or classic), Miami roll, and their black miso cod. I did enjoy the Miami roll (cucumber gave it a refreshing taste) and although the miso cod was a small piece it was flavorful. Still hungry, I tried their nigiri - A5 Wagyu, toro, salmon, salmon chili, and yellowtail. I enjoyed them all but my favorites were the salmon chili and toro! I also tried their Saturday night fever roll and it was delicious! We ended the night with their Thai mango cheesecake and espresso crème brûlée. I came in with a small group to try and omakase experience - we went with the booker t Washington omakase just to try something special. I'm normally not one who buys into the elaborate presentations, usually I only care about the food itself and service, but this place really gave an experience. Every course was immaculate - fresh, delicious, beautiful presentation. I can't even remember all of the elaborate dishes (if I could find where I put the signed menu that came with the meal... that would help) but every single one was glorious. I don't know where to start with the presentation - between the smoked old fashioned, the nigiri served in giant smoking boxes, the sauce and rolls assembled at the table, or IMO the coolest part: the sake glasses flash cooled at the table with liquid nitrogen. These guys went all out. Service was also extremely good, our waitress was super friendly, very attentive, very helpful. Actually one funny item was that on the note for our reservation we mentioned that we were looking for a 7 course omakase, which Musume doesn't offer, so the staff started making a personal menu for us. We went with an on menu option but... says a lot about the commitment. The owner (I think) came by as well and was also very helpful and friendly. This was a great experience - highly recommend. We have a wonderful night out at Musume. It was a large group of us all paying with seperate corporate cards, and they were able to accommdate us. They allowed me to make reservations online for the large group and they have valet parkign which was very convenient. The restaurant is beautiful. It's a lovely unique space. The menu is large and has a ton of options. I got the shrimp fried rice and it has almost not shrimp in it. It was a bit odd because my coworker got the crab fried rice and it has tons of crab. Musume is such a great balance of trendy and proper. The food is amazing whether you're here for lunch or dinner. At lunch, I totally recommend the Musume Bowl and the Chicken Sandwich-both packed with flavor. For dinner, the Grilled Lamb Lollipops and Basil Snapper are must tries. Hospitality is excellent; service, food, and ambiance are all top tier. I also love the location and the thoughtful little touches throughout the space such as Tokyo nights, the speakeasy, set menus, etc. Totally recommend following their Instagram for these events. We went to musume for restaurant week where they have a fixed 3 course menu. Before the appetizer we got green peppers with a sweet glaze which was 100% the highlight of the dinner. For the appetizers we got salmon harasu and short rib wontons. The presentation for the wontons was really good. The salmon harasu was paired with wasabi, pickled cucumbers which were really good as the salmon itself wasn't particularly marinated and was a little tasteless. For the main we got the sushi lover platter and Wagyu flat iron. The sushi lover platter was mid especially for the price. They had a lot of different types of fish including yellowtail and salmon and different toppings but the taste wasn't anything crazy. The Wagyu was tender and juicy and the flavor was on point. We finished with tempura fried ice cream and chocolate mousse cake. The tempera was nice and cakey and matched with the ice cream. All in all not a bad experience but I probably wouldn't go back for the sushi. read more

Musume is an amazing experience from top to bottom. We went here for dinner on my husband's birthday. We had a reservation and were taken to our table right away without a wait. Our server, Daniel, was absolutely one of the best I've had! He was attentive, kind, upbeat, helpful with the menu, and on top of everything, including keeping our sake glasses full throughout the meal. The food itself was spectacular! We had the bluefin toro hamachi nigiri, spicy edamame, and two speciality roles, one of which was created by a staff member that month, a very endearing nice touch to the meal. This is a classy place. Nice interior. Nice dishes, presentation. The bathroom is even pretty cool. Lit only by candles, done in a very Japanese cultural way. There's even a recording of a Japanese woman giving Japanese common phrases and then its English translation. The food was OK, nothing that made me go "Wow!" but it was OK. Their version of gyōza (potstickers) was interesting. It had some berry or something cooked with it. It was also cooked in a different way. I didn't care for it. Some things you just shouldn't mess around with. I had one of the bentos for $27. Everything is expensive downtown. It came with some really good tasting misō soup, a salad with no dressing (?), four sushi roll slices, a bed of rice with my choice of beef on it (you could choose chicken, shrimp, or veggie). The beef lacked flavor, but was cooked medium. The sushi rolls were OK. I don't know, just not overly impressed, especially for the price. Looking at what others got, you may like their sushi rolls, some of which looked pretty interesting. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. We have been influenced to come and try their version of girls dinner - miso&martini, for 22.22$ you will get a choice of martini(classic, lychee, espresso), Miami roll( which is DELICIOUS) and a piece of black cod miso which is spectacular but the piece is small. This was not enough for a full meal for us since we came starving thus we ordered multiple other positions from the menu, I ordered their nigiri: smoked salmon, unagi, snow crab, yellowtail and A5 Wagyu all came with two pieces in portion. I liked them all but my favorite was definitely the Wagyu. I also ordered Saturday Night fever roll which was recommended by our waiter and it was great! Perfect combination of flavor and spice! I also got two desserts, one was Thai mango cheesecake and I liked it but it's way better if you eat it together with ice cream that is served with it. The fish was extremely fresh and the rolls were filling and flavorful, although on the pricey side for sure. The service was good overall they gave us a couple of free appetizers because our group was so big. The Shishito peppers were flavored really well, although there weren't that many on the plate. I usually don't give five stars but Musume definitely deserves it. Sunday evening, before a Graduation ceremony across the street at the Meyerson, we popped in with my parents, without a reservation. We were greeted warmly, sincerely and shown to our table by the owner himself. What followed was attentive, professional service with very good suggestions for selections they are rightly proud of. Every item that came out was outstanding, including a corn appetizer the owner sent over for us to try. The Mason roll was presented beautifully and had a hint of Thai basil,I'm craving it again. The highlight had to be the 72 hr miso marinated Chilean Sea Bass. Not only was it among the best I've ever had, it came on a bed of perhaps the best mushroom risotto in Dallas. Italian restaurants take notice, this is how it should be done. Not too firm, not too soft, perfection on a plate, and the Umami flavor filled the mouth. I would eat that every day, every meal. What a special treat at a very special place in the Arts District! Wow! Hubby and I ate here with another couple prior to a performance at the Meyerson Symphony Center. Musume is just across the road and a VERY short walk from the Meyerson front entrance. If you have Harold as a server, he will help you make ALL of the decisions. He was so helpful and so knowledgeable about everything on the menu from the sake, wine, cocktails to all of the sushi selections and dinner selections. So happy we finally got to try this place. I stumbled upon it when I was looking for Akai (speaksy in the back). To start we got the dynamite shrimp, which was to die for. Our reservation still had a bit of a wait so we started out with drinks at the bar - and they were made with impeccable detail. We were seated at our table shortly after and our server was so friendly and helpful. We ordered a bunch of dishes to share: the ribeye came with a delicious chili sauce - it was so good I added it to the wasabi mashed potato as well..! The rolls were fresh - but be warned the Wrath roll is called wrath for a reason - it had too much wasabi for my taste and we were both crying after one bite..!
