I visited Maison Chinoise with some friends on a Saturday night and it was an overall nice time, especially because we got to go to the speakeasy, Regines Lounge in the back which was a super cool experience with live music from the band later in the evening. What we ordered at Maison Chinoise includes: Food: -Crispy Orange Beef -Sichuan Dan Dan Noodles -Wagyu Beef and Truffle Fried Rice Drinks: -Lychee Luck Key takeaways: the crispy orange beef was very sweet and tangy (like an elevated orange chicken dish from PF Chang's). The fried rice was good, but a bit dry. The truffle doesn't add much flavor so I really relied on the wagyu beef to carry the dish, but the problem was the pieces were tiny and there wasn't that much protein included portion wise. The lychee cocktail included tito's vodka, pomegranate, yuzu, sugar, and lychee foam. I would say the cocktail was a skip in my opinion as there's too much foam on top (see picture for reference) and then not enough of the actual drink, which is also a bit too sweet.

Truffle wagyu fried rice. Lacked flavor.

I had a horrible experience here while celebrating my birthday at this restuarant on Saturday night (3/14). The only good thing about my time at Maison Chinoise was that the food was good, however the service was so terrible and off-putting that I never want to return here again. Let's dive into why this was so bad shall we? 1. I reserved a table for 6 at 7pm. Me and 3 of my guests arrived at 6:55pm and checked in at the hostess stand. The hostess told us to hold on for a moment and left to check on a table. While she was away, a group of people who came in after us told the other hostess that they had a reservation for7:15pm. Tell me why did that hostess immediately take them to a table? What sense does that make? When our hostess returned, after that party was taken to their table, she grabbed the menus and told us "wait here while I put the menus on the table." Huh? Why? That wasn't done for the other party. 2. The manager (I guess it was the manager. It was a woman wearing a dress) kept coming to where we were seated to open the window shade even though it wasn't a problem for our table. 3. This same woman later in the evening said in response to me sharing that we had a reservation next door at Regine's Lounge and I was concerned about the timing while we waited for our entrees to arrive that she would "take all your 'sh!t' next door" if it took too long for us to get our food and eat. WTF?!?!?!?! It was so UNPROFESSIONAL. All of my guests were stunned. I couldn't believe that she said that to us and we weren't rude, mean, loud, or disagreeable, just concerned about only having 20 minutes to eat our meals and pay. I felt insulted, especially considering that we were the only predominantly black/POC table in the restuarant and I know for a fact that this same white woman would have never said this to the tables around us. I'm disgusted. 4. The service ALL NIGHT was HORRIBLE! Our waiter was also the bartender, and he constantly got sidetracked and distracted with assisting with other guests or tasks inbetween checking on us, bringing us things, taking requests, etc. We would ask for things throughout the evening (like more water, etc.) and he would say "ok I'll get that, but let me take these plates back first and I'll be right back." Then he would leave and not come back for 20 minutes. This happened throughout the entire 2 hours we were there. 5. As I mentioned above, this was for my BIRTHDAY DINNER. I indicated this when I made my reservation. It was very obvious that we were there for a special occassion (a group of 6 well-dressed ladies), so why not ask if we were celebrating a birthday or a special occassion! That was not done by anyone at all. We were also not offered dessert by ANYONE. I complained when we were ready to leave to our waiter and he said that he didn't know it was my birthday, yet STILL DID NOT OFFER ME A DESSERT, NOT EVEN ONE TO GO! The Raggedy Manager Woman should have been more concerned about this as well, rather than repeatedly trying to adjust a window shade behind our table that didn't matter to us! ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE SERVICE BY ALL! 6. The peace-de-resistance was that after such a horrible dining experience, was that gratuity was added to the tune of about 20%. These people didn't deserve a fraction of that, yet we paid probably close to $600 in food and drinks to receive terrible service. I will absolutely never go back here. The food was mostly good, but there's good food all over Dallas with better service to go with it.

Second time trying this place. Love the decor inside. It wasnt very busy but the service was a bit slow. The manager was very nice though and explained it was due to a large party. The food we ordered did not have flavor I was expecting. The seafood puffs had legit seafood in them and they had a unique flavor but it didnt necessarily fit my flavor preferences. The tempura green beans were tasty. The hot and sour soup was also different than I expected. I think I prefer mine to have a bit more substance ot it but it had a good flavor. I ordered the Singapore noodles and they had way less flavor than I would have hoped. I took them home and add a bit more though and they turned out good.

Excellent first visit. The ambiance was nice, the service was very good and the food very tasty. Great variety and better taste. Generous portions. Recommended!

Theres some real standout delicious food on this menu but also a few things that fell short on flavor. Would definitely recommend the Pork Xiao long bao, orange chicken or beef, and the rice dishes. To start: The Iberico Xiao Long Bao were incredible. The beef spring rolls were tasty and simple. The prawn har gow were beautiful but very fishy without much other flavor. To the mains: Unfortunately the kung pao chicken was mostly potatoes and bell peppers ( not chicken ) and tasted only of peppers and potatoes with no heat and minimal spice. Orange chicken and orange beef stood out as being significantly more balanced flavor profiles than the kung pao chicken. The maison fried rice is similar to a "happy family" rice on a traditional American chinese menu but elevated ingredients and flavors - super delicious. The ambiance and service are amazing. Despite not loving a couple of the things we ordered, we all loved the restaurant and the majority of the food and will definitely be returning!!

If you got with a few friends i recommend ordering a bunch of stuff and sharing. This way you get to try more of the menus. The mushroom dumplings probably my favorite thing. But i loved it all! Drinks were great. Ask to go to the speakeasy after

One and done. Was an okay experience, but when the nicest part of the dining experience is the ambiance, it's not worth a return visit. Food was all "just fine". I've had better dumplings. The hot and sour part of the seafood hot and sour soup was great, but the seafood added nothing positive and had a funky taste. The orange beef was decent but nothing special. And $3.88 extra for a bowl of steamed rice? Seriously? The most annoying part, that you'd think Lombardi's would be better than, was publishing "cash" prices on their menus with no indication at least online of the credit card surcharge until you get the bill. Does anyone really drag out a wad of cash to pay for a $200-plus restaurant bill?

Ordered to go, had high expectations for this restaurant and was disappointed. The food was hot, but the Miso soup was bland. My noodles were horrible! The Ube Bao buns although beautiful in color dense and taste nothing of Nutella, the dipping sauce didn't compliment the flavor at all. The Har Gow dumplings weren't bad but I can justify the price for the flavor, they are beautiful.

The food here was tasty! The dishes were shareable. I enjoyed the spicy wontons from here, along with lo mein and beef. The ambiance was fantastic! Def a great spot for a girls night out. Service was great too!

Came here at 5:45 on a quiet Friday, earlier than our 6:30 reservation and we were graciously seated promptly. We already knew what we wanted so Alexis took our order quickly. The food service was incredibly speedy. We were in and out in an hour, and we ordered several items. The teas were lovely, the veggie dumplings were beautiful, the lamb chops had an excellent cook, the orange beef was bright and citrusy, and the mandarin dessert was refreshing and subtly sweet. The food and service were top tier, we will have to come back!!

Starting off, the service was very good. Everyone from the hostess to the bartender, to our server was friendly. The inside was dark and romantic which is what we were shooting for. Unfortunately, that's the best part of the meal, where it should be the food. The food was all edible but honestly didn't seem any better than your traditional Chinese take out. Given the price point, I thought it would have been exceptional. The soup dumplings were a little more bland than I'd like. The tenderloin was dry and sauce was pretty basic. We had a great time, but the food was just seriously lacking.

Went here last Friday at 5:15 pm. I think we may have been the only people in the restaurant for at least 30 minutes which was pretty odd! The food here was yummy, we got a lot of tapas that were good and yummy drinks. We all had no complaints on the food. However, for what you are getting, the prices are INSANE. I got the 'wagyu fried rice' which is $30 and tastes just like beef fried rice. I would have been unsatisfied if I paid $17 let alone $30. Also, there were 6 of us that split the appetizers, yet our waiter informed us at the end he couldn't split the checks which was super disappointing. The ambiance here is pretty and the food is good, but there's just too many GREAT restaurants in Dallas to go to instead, for much better pricing. I do really think this restaurant needs a good happy hour menu as well in order to get people in the door before 6:30. It's pretty odd to be the only ones there. Wouldn't recommend but if someone took me here and food was free I wouldn't complain!

The food came out piping hot and super fast, within 5 minutes our table was full of dishes! We were a small party so we only tried some dishes: Shu Mai, Shrimp Har Gow (eh), Chicken Feet, Steamed BBQ Pork Buns, Baked BBQ Pork Buns, Soup Dumplings, Fried Shrimp Balls, and Tofu Pudding for dessert. The stars of the show were the siu mai, the Baked BBQ Pork Buns and the Steamed BBQ Pork Buns. The siu mai was packed with fillings and it was so good, might be the best one I've ever had. The Baked buns were good but the buns might be a little too heavy. However, the steamed buns were so airy, light, and fluffy. I've never seen a bun that fluffy, it was like touching a cloud. It was still good when we reheated it at home, too! My boyfriend also loved the chicken feet, it was packed with flavor and very juicy. On the other hand, the soup dumplings were okay they didn't have any soup in them. The shrimp har gow wrapper was really thick, making it not as good. The tofu pudding was delicious. It's silken tofu with sweet ginger syrup, usually served with chewy balls but they didn't have that here. It was served hot and it was my childhood so I had to get it :) It looked like a lot of food but the bill came out to be around $50+, which wasn't bad given that we had a lot of leftovers for the day. I would definitely come back here!
