But it was very clear when I dropped in to my first class that all of the coaches take a tremendous amount of pride in their work. They are experts in their profession and wanted to make sure that I was doing the various movements properly. After a few months, I continue to be amazed by the culture of the gym. This October, it will be two years since I've been coming to KBX and it has truly changed my life…read more I always tell my friends and family, it is like second therapy. However, the beginning of this year I become complacent and was really only coming to one class a week and making a lot of excuses to not do more. My physical and mental health were definitely being affected, so I decided to sign up for the six week Boot Camp. I'm not gonna lie, I was pretty intimidated in the beginning, but I really wanted to challenge myself, reset some habits, and overall get back to something I really enjoy. The six weeks helped me get back on track with my hydration goals, eating healthier, and going from one to maybe two classes a week to some weeks doing 5 to 6. Ultimately, it helped me recognize that with some small steps and keeping focused on my goals I was able to make some real change. What I really enjoyed as well was it really was designed for each individual person to go at their own pace. We had a group chat that constantly encouraged each other, shared recipes, and motivated each other on the bad days. It was about the small wins, and always going back to our health is beyond the six weeks. Yes, I saw results and that definitely helped motivate me to keep going, but really it helped me recognize that I want to be a healthier whole person and in order to do that I need to show up for myself. I may not now be doing 5 to 6 classes a week, but doing 2 to 4 is absolutely manageable with my schedule. Thank you so much Joe and all the support you gave each of us during Boot Camp! With just a 12 week prep last year I was able to place in both divisions that I entered under the guidance of Coach Tom. I am currently under the guidance of Coach Ty and I've been able to pack on a lot of quality muscle without excess body fat and improve my stage presence a ton! The environment here is like no other. Everyone is encouraging one another and it's awesome to be around likeminded people working toward something similar such as an upcoming contest. You truly get to see everyone's physique coming together week by week. AZBB also holds posing classes weekly (Saturdays @noon) usually led by Coach Ty or Chris who is one of the best posers I've ever seen on stage. It's group sessions up to four people maximum (there is one in one training available) 1 hour Tom is perfect for a group of friends to get a great workout in (and from someone who understands aging and weight issues.) Tom will work with you and keeps you remembering importance of posture to keep his trainees healthy and moving. Tom has various workouts and switches it up. Tom also does monthly measurements (if want to know or you skip the measurements if you don't want Tom to know you're not keeping the nutritional plan lol)
