Well, I would not call this service......after waiting for a complete day to have my refrigerator serviced, Mario came by to take a look. He moved my refrigerator to the side and claimed that the area around the coils needed to be cleaned (albeit that they had been cleaned in May 2012). He did request an additional $40 for his service. The refrigerator is not working, what am I to say...... Finally he cleaned the coils and then made another recommendation that the water line be replaced by him for $20.00. He was unable to find the water line, so much for the additional expenditure. He said that he believed that it should operate efficiently, but the compressor may need to be replaced and to wait a day. After one day, two trips later to buy dry ice and $$$ worth of spoiled food, he claimed to the service company - Platinum Home Warranty that my refrigerator was neglected. Hello, it was cleaned and serviced last May, not exactly neglect. Considering that I am recovering from surgery and must have the refrigerator in working order, I was not too excited to find out that I cannot leave the house, but now must find a new refrigerator. He would not even answer my call to find out the status of his presumed second visit. He not only solicited me for additional services outside of the $60.00 service call, he even solicited for his friend Marco the plumber. Our 3 year old Motorhome has a residential whirlpool refrigerator. When we arrived at our winter RV resort in Surprise, the freezer was working but the refrigerator was not cooling. We were dreading what a repair would entail and what it would cost since the refrigerator is a built in unit. I was really impressed by Mario "the Younger" who drove out to my home, and checked the "problem" with my ice maker. He simply hit the reset button and explained the nuances in the life of a Kenmore Elite (LG) ice maker. We agreed that I would call him in two days with a status update. Well, two days passed, the ice maker was working, and I called Mario and informed him that since I was so impressed with his authenticity, in future, needs, he would be the first Appliance repairman I would call. Another job well done by Mario (and Mario Jr.)! I called My Appliance Guy to take a look at my Kenmore stand alone ice machine. I was on the schedule the next day. We needed a little plumbing fix before Mario could do his portion of the job. He recommend an independent plumber who was also an amazing find. Mr. Plumber was out the next day and fixed that issue. So Mario Jr. was back out the following day to complete the job. The problem was identified to be our pump which would have to be ordered. I was quoted a price for the parts and install and we decided to proceed the next day after the part arrived. Once the old part was out Mario suggested we try to clean the old pump out and see if it will work... and surprisingly it did! So Mario came to our house a total of three times and only charged us a $59 trip charge and an additional $99 to clean/repair our existing pump. We had Sears out to look at this same machine a few years back and they charged us more just for the trip out. Very happy with Mario and his son. They were polite, quick to come out and I feel very fairly priced. This is the second fix by My Appliance Guy. They were able to repair our dishwasher a few years ago and it is still going strong. I was referred to Mario through a friend of mine, to have my washer repaired. Something to do with the door switch that wasn't allowing the unit to start washing. He knew what the problem was almost instantly after describing it. He came over the next day to have a look. 15 minutes, and I have an operable washer again. Bill came out on Thanksgiving eve as our fridge/freezer just wasn't cooling properly. His diagnosis was a leaking sealed system (which turned out to be spot on). Unfortunately, he wasn't able to fix it that day, and Mario (the owner) came out on Monday to do it. He did some very slick welding on some broken and leaking tubing and the appliance is back to it's cold best. Highly recommend these guys - polite, courteous and know their stuff!! read more

We have a 10/yr old dryer and needed to make a decision whether it could be repaired or it was time to buy a new one. It had recently started making that "nails on chalkboard" sound during the drying cycle, even though the clothes were still drying fine. I checked around and decided to try My Appliance Guy and it was an A+ transaction from start to finish. I spoke to Mario in the beginning about cost and scheduling. The service fee was reasonable and he worked with me on a date and time. We even needed something looked at on our washer as well which was done for no additional charge. Christina was our service technician-- very personable, friendly, knowledgeable, and punctual as well. She got to the bottom of the problem pretty quickly, parts had to be ordered, and we rescheduled for her return visit. She quoted us the full price of the repair up front which was 1/4 of what a new dryer would have cost. Turns out it was a good decision as she advised the rest of the unit was looking and running in fine shape for its age. She called ahead both times to advise when she was on the way and even cleared out our duct line with the built up lint while she was back there which has helped speed the drying time a bit as well. As a rental property owner I gave these folks a try and won't be coming back. I had a microwave not working in one of my properties. The tech went to the home and said it could not be repaired but they had a refurbished unit they could install so I said go ahead. A week later I follow-up with my Tennant to find out no refurbished microwave was installed. When I inquired with My Appliance Guy they said oh we didn't have one. Never got a call telling me, or a receipt for the work performed - I was told it was left with the tenant. So I have no Idea if my credit card numb that I paid with over the phone was left with the tenant too . Asked again for a receipt still nothing. He had to order a part and initially said it would be Monday before he could get it fixed, but he came over on Saturday which was very nice. This company is absolutely the worst. Nickle and dime you to death. Everything is expensive, and nothing is quick. And the final straw is you have to pay an EXORBITANT fee to use a credit card. Here is my story. Unfortunately, this is true... I called to have my dishwasher repaired on Thursday, no answer. So I emailed. I was contacted the next day. An appointment was scheduled for the next Monday between 10 and 12.. The technician called me at 11:15 and told me he was 20 minutes away. I said I was the same distance away and I would meet him. He wasn't there when I arrived. He wasn't there 30 minutes later. I called him an hour later and he told me he was at lunch but he was on his way, 15 minutes tops. 30 minutes later he called needing directions. Turns out he had the wrong address. Mistakes happen, no problem. He was 30 minutes away. So my 10 am to 12 pm appointment started at 1:40. Still, not angry. Just trying to roll with the flow. There was a $59 trip charge, but you can take it off the cost of repairs if you have them done. Cool. And then the nickle and dime stuff started. It's $107 to dismantle a dishwasher motor. That's reasonable. Its not reasonable to pull 2 screws, lift a piece of plastic and call that "dismantling the motor". I looked up the part. It was the drain cover. Not even the motor. Then it wasn't even the motor. I had to pay $107 dollars for him to not do the wrong work. "It has to be the solenoid." Tested that. Nope. Some "other motor, that's your problem." Nope, ..."this model doesn't even have that equipment. So it has to be the control board." Okay, it is. "But I don't carry those with me." He calls the part shop. "$169.99 plus labor". Okay... whats that bring my total to? "$311.00." I cant believe this, but I need the dishwasher to work. Okay, do it. "All right. But the shop I called is in Cave Creek and I don't want to drive that far. Let me call this other place." He calls. "Hey they have it for $10 less! I'll pick it up, but I have other calls to do today, so I will try to make it back but if not I'll be back tomorrow." As if by magic, he calls at 6:20 to say he is 10 minutes away. I've come this far, I might as well get it done. He shows up, spends 10 minutes changing out the part. He then tells me "There is a $60 core charge for this part. I'm taking the old one to get that charge back unless you want to keep it. Then I have to charge you the $60." Then take it. Does what I am paying for the part include the core charge? "Yeah, I mean no." Wow. "Okay, you're good. How do you want to pay? cash or check?" I say card. "Well, if you want. But we charge a convenience fee of 4% of the bill. That's what we have to pay, so we pass that along to you." So that means? "Your total bill is $311.48. But you also need to run an acid tablet through your dishwasher. Here, we sell these for $5 each. Want it?" I say hang on a sec. I look the tablet up on Amazon. $5.99 for a pack of 12. Fry's Grocery. $3.99 for 6. I tell him no thanks. I ask for an itemized receipt. He says he can't do that. At this point. I just want it done. I pay. He leaves. Not only did I have to pay for work he didn't do, I didn't get the credit I was told was part of it. I called. No answer. I emailed. Doubt I'll hear back. Price gouging, poor customer service, and piss-poor business practices make this company a trial to deal with. Do yourself a favor, ask ANYONE else. read more

Learn customer service! I had a 10am-1pm appt time, said he would call prior to coming out. I waited at home all day and finally called at 1220, no answer. I called again at 1240, Mario answered and said he said he called earlier in the day and left a message.. I received no call. I told him that and he told me to, "go check your messages" in a very rude tone. I stayed home from work to take this service call, thanks for wasting almost an entire day. Gee, I've been using Mario since 2012. He still deserves a solid 5! Our refrig is back in service thanks to him and his guy Bill. And his rates are great. One thing in particular - he charges a basic service call fee. Finds the problem and tells you what he needs to do and how much it will cost. If you have him do the fix, the service call fee is deducted...even if you decide a few days later. read more

Friday evening, worse time in the world for the fridge to be warm. Starting calling trying to find help and everyone is closed or getting ready to close. Called Mario and he was out still working. Explained my problem and he said would call me when he finished the job and if I had not found anyone he would see what he could do. He called me back about 30 minutes later to see if I still needed help. I did, I was desperate. He showed up about 7PM and quickly found the fault was a relay. He thought he had one on the truck but found my fridge needed a special model he did not have. Later he text me to tell me the part would have to be ordered and he would not have it until Monday. We tried the dry ice route but that didn't work out. Monday Mario was able to locate the part in Tucson and had it sent to Surprise by courier. Part got in around 5PM and 6:30 Mario was on site and got me going again. Friends, that is customer service and he has my business for all future appliance repairs. read more

We thought we had a dishwasher leak reported by our tenant. Originally we scheduled a repair with the warranty company we purchased with the house. The tech came out a month ago and said we need a new gasket. We never heard from that company again. After an email to Mario at My Appliance Guy we heard back the next day. Our Whirlpool washer started leaking water so I called My Appliance Guy and Mario the owner promised to be out the next morning and called to let us know he was coming and he was on time! He quickly found the problem and showed me the issue and explained everything very clearly. He gave me a reasonable quote and promised to be back later in the day with a part. Mario returned after calling again to let me know he was on the way and replaced the bad pump. He showed me the old pump and explained why he thought it failed. All of a sudden our dishwasher would finish it's complete wash/dry cycle and there would be standing water in the bottom of the DW when I'd open it to put our dishes away but only sometimes. So I saw on Yelp My Appliance Guy and gave them a call. Then my DW started working fine again, but I knew something wasn't right. I even thought of getting a new one but after talking to Mario I decided to go ahead with the repair. Wow, am I glad I did. Bill, my repair guy picked up on the problem right away. The machine had gotten out of position slightly and needed to be adjusted so the door would close without interference from the counter top. I'm happy I found My Appliace Guy.
