I told this dude I wanted a low fade and a TRIM and then this dude straight up gave me a high fade and cut 4 INCHES off my hair smh the top is uneven the sides are uneven my back hair is messed up . when I ask for a trim off the top I MEAN BARELY CUT ANYTHING OFF just make it even , he had one job and messed it up and he still had the audacity to say "that's $12". read more

When I first met My (The "My" in My Barber Shop) she was cutting hair at another shop down the way and I had just started Police Academy. In the Academy, they had extraordinarily strict guidelines for hair and before I met My, I was doing my fair share of push-ups for not being able to get a decent hair cut. A few weeks in, My stopped me in the parking lot before I went in and she told me that she had just opened up her own place down the way, so off we went and voila, that's how I first came to My Barber Shop. At first glance, it gave the appearance of a beauty parlor as opposed to a barber shop, but I think mainly because it's clean, spacious and well-lit. They have two really big comfy couches that you can rest on while you wait and they have a big-screen TV and a radio for some entertainment meanwhile as well as a plethora of magazines. Now, a hair cut is a delicate thing; if it gets messed up, then you can't really undo a cut. So it's gotta be good and it's gotta be every time, and with My that's just the way it is. She knows how to do a great "High-and-Tight" and she'll follow every instruction that you give her unless you ask "What do you think?" and then she'll be honest and straight-forward with you. So not only is it nice, clean, comfortable and the skill is there, but it's only $7.00! There is one thing though, EVERYONE knows My... and that's of course because she's good at what she does, but because of that people never give any of her workers a chance. So if you go in there looking for My, chances are you're going to have a few people ahead of you. The other workers there are good too, she wouldn't allow other people to work under her name if they weren't! So support your local-friendly barber shop, save a few bucks and look good while you're at it! They're great with kids and can do women's hair as well! read more

Went to get my hair cut. Everything seemed alright when I left. When I got home, I washed my hair and found several areas where my hair was longer. I went back & told her my situation. This place serves it's purpose well. Affordable haircuts done right. If you want to overpay, so be it. Less wait time for the next guy. They will trim or even shave off your beard, for only $5. I think if you want something more than the average trim, it's like $1-$2 more. The younger of the 2 ladies, My, is the best out of the staff. But the older guy isn't bad at all. Minor negatives are the long wait, lack of a sign in list to keep track of "who is next", and my haircutter being a bit rougher than i am used to. I have Don cut my hair and he is certainly the most efficient and meticulous hair craftsman I have ever had. I go here so much I know My almost on a personal level. She is a great barber who really cares abt her customer. Very friendly and great attitude. Just please dont come in last minute because every single day she has to work to 7 or 8 because people come at like 6pm and its unfair to her. I will miss her when I am away from Fullerton. These guys butchered my hair yet again! I started coming here when I heard of the cheap prices for a regular haircut. Until one of the male barbers carelessly cut my hair and made it asymmetrical. I mean what the heck? I decided to not let this specific male barber cut my hair ever again and instead decided to allow the female stylist with the glasses to begin cutting my hair. I understood then why almost all clients went to her and not the 2 male barbers! Doh! She was very careful, precise and conscientious about her work and I was impressed. However, I went in yesterday and because there was a wait for her again, I decided to let a different male barber cut my hair. Big mistake! Read 1st sentence of this review. I specifically told this guy to use the 4.5 cut, he used the 1.5 without verifying with me. Hence he proceeded to cut using the 1.5. Not sure this guy knew a lot of english either. Then when I told him the cut was too short he halfheartedly attempted to fix it. As I was pretty upset at this point, I kept checking the front and top if my hair to make sure this guy didn't continue butchering it. Well this dude got upset and raised his voice at me for attempting to explain to him that I wanted my hair blended in gradually from short to a longer length! Really? What professional does that? I kept my cool and wanted this torture to be over asap so I could get the hell outta there. Regular haircuts are $8 here and I have been charged $8 every single time. Except this time when this "barber" had the audacity to charge me $10. I was upset at the terrible cut and asked why the $10 and not the $8? No response except a repeated phrase in an escalating voice that said "$10!" "$10!" I asked if the price had increased to which the response was a no followed by a quick "yea!" Don't come to this place unless you want your hair butchered. If you feel like you still need to come here, please wait for the lady with the glasses. She'll do your hair right. Lesson learned. Although I don't speak Vietnamese, I can get across what I want with simple directions in English and hand gestures and that is all that seems to be needed by the talented staff. Reading the other reviews and being on the other side of the room where the woman barber was cutting the hair of a little girl, the woman spoke English well enough. I had two gentleman work their magic so far and they both did a great job of cutting my hair with the #4 clipper head and then finishing off with scissors to get those pesky hairs that stand up without any strong wind or electricity nearby. The first time took about half an hour and I thought my haircut was great. No small talk, just the facts, man. The second time it took about fifteen minutes to cut my hair and it also looked great although it could have been cut a little bit more from the top front but that's okay. All in all, a great place for my simple fade haircuts and can't complain about the $8 price either! My (pronounced "Me") Barber Shop is awesome! read more

Worst Barbershop ever stay away. The owner is very rude and consistently has horrible customer service. The employee that ended up cutting my hair this time after going here for 3 years ruined my haircut quite honestly this is been the second time and actually I I'm never going to return. 95% of the staff can barely speak any English. I would rather pay $20 somewhere else and get full service haircut then get my hair chopped off and a horrible cut for discount. The person who cut my hair their ended up cutting it like I was one of his little boys. The other big problem here is that they don't clean their equipment I got folliculitis which is an infection in the scalp. I actually mentioned it to the owner and she didn't say or do anything about it I had to go to the doctor and get special antibiotics to fix this. My son and I would get our haircut here. Unfortunately there customer service and quality of work has degraded in the last few years. It seems like they don't have enough trained barbers to accommodate their clients. The current barbers are in such a rush that they hurt and cut you in the process. I would get triple zero, 000, blade and one time not only did he miss a few spots of hair but he cut my head. The "barber" cleaned up the patches and while doing it he scratched my whole head using the machine like a mad man. I had to tell him to relax for he was hurting me. read more
