We loved our meal at My Brother's Crawfish! We visited specifically for the crawfish, and we ordered it two different ways - in a boil and in an étouffée. Both were flavorful and filling, and satisfied our craving just right. The cornbread served with our meals was also super tasty, with a light and sweet flavor that complimented our dishes well. Our waitress was very kind and attentive and made an effort to ensure our dining experience was a pleasant one. She offered to get us a to-go container for the seafood broth before we even asked, and I'm so glad we took her up on that offer because that broth made a great second meal the next day! We visited during a time they weren't particularly busy (about 4pm), but even then a few tables were occupied. It's clear that this location has more activity into the evening, especially since there is a full bar and they don't close until 10pm most days. We were also pretty happy with the price, considering we've paid more for less food at other restaurants offering seafood boils. We'll definitely be eating here again! read more

We celebrated appreciation/Mardi Gras today, but we didn't get enough food, like they've had in the past! Because it's Mardi Gras, I was hoping for some Jambalaya or Gumbo of some of that good New Orleans stuff. With that said, before heading home, we searched online where nearby we could go for take out. We did have another market, Shell Gas station not far from where we started, but their Jambalaya was like 'soy sauce colored rice'. THAT's not what I'm craving for! We found one further, and they have Seafood Gumbo, so we drove there. I thought it would take faster than 15 mins. but first we have to wait until the waitress, who told us to seat & wait, she'll give us the menu, (we just found the menu from their website), she wasn't free for a long time. The Seafood Gumbo order came with corn bread and rice. I've eaten Southern & Northern style foods in the past, but the cornbread was probably one of the worst I've eaten! Dry like the Sahara Desert, and old! I took one look at the Gumbo, and I wasn't sure what it was on top, it freaked me out! It was probably one of the largest clam, but I like mine in bite size pieces, not one as big as my tongue. For awhile there, I thought it was a body of a squid, but I like mine toasted, crispy or fried. There's shrimp, and clams with shells. The taste was so-so, hubby did liked it, so he'll eat all of my portion. I did took a couple of spoonfuls, but that's it! (For now, I'm done craving for Gumbo soup!, Corn bread, too!) We visited My Brother's Crawfish last night and had a really disappointing experience. We placed our order at 7:00pm, and by 8:05pm we still hadn't received any food. When we asked our waitress for an update, she told us the order wasn't ready and couldn't say how much longer it would take. The only explanation given was that they had a large group before us. Waiting over an hour with no communication or timeline is not acceptable at any restaurant. We were starving and eventually asked if we could cancel our order. The waitress said yes because the kitchen hadn't even started it yet -- meaning we could've easily been waiting another hour. First off, this place has been my go to for a while. I haven't been able to take pictures in the past because they bring out the bowl of seafood and I just stare at it while digging right in. The service is always amazing. When I ordered this oyster po boy, they made if in the time estimate that they gave me (15-18 minutes). One of the servers told me to sit while I was waiting for my order and asked if I wanted anything to drink. She gave me a diet coke for free and even talked to me for a bit while my food was being made. I love the vibe of the restaurant, where they bring seafood out in big bowls rather than a bag. The oyster po boy was one of the best I've had in Portland (hard food item to find). The oysters were definitely handled with care and fried to perfection. I often feel like fried oysters have too much batter, but these ones have a light and flavorful coating. I also ordered oyster shooters to go and those were delicious as well. The broth is too watery so the seafood and potatoes were rather bland. Clams and peeled shrimp did not taste fresh. Unpeeled shrimp have veins. Then it was time for the main event, which was a seafood boil with snow crab legs and medium broth. Finally we were told our table was ready, and I kid you not, we had to wait...by the door with customers staring wondering what was going on, for another 15 minutes. Waitstaff were coming up asking what we needed and acting all confused about our table. Table? I don't know if theres a ready table? Let me check.... Finally, we get seated, the server and waitress seemed both confused about what was going on and acted like we were a hassle. Now let me be honest, we were mad. Everything so far was crazy and ridiculous. But we weren't rude or unpleasant. We both worked in food service and that would've been just beyond . Then...the food was terrible. Ok maybe not terrible, but it had end of the night vibes going on. I wanted to enjoy it, especially given the wait. But it just wasn't good. Ive heard a lot of great things about this place. So i assume it was an off night? But over two hours for a table? Numerous people passing us and seated earlier? Whats that about? Why were the waitstaff behaving like that? The mysteries persist. First let me say I heard a lot about this place so I was excited. Love Cajun food. Upon walking in we were greeted and pointed to a booth. The place had cobwebs all over the ceiling. Not a great start. We ordered lobster lollipops at nearly $21 a piece and to say not good. The dip was delicious but they didn't clean the lobster. The vein was still there with the "poop" in it. I am a big fan of their seafood boil spicy sauce! It's great with their warmed french roll (a must get!). For a party of 3, we got the salt and pepper calamari, a pound of shrimp boil with garlic butter (with sausage, corn and white mushrooms add ons), and a pound of fresh crawfish boil with spicy sauce (with sausage, corn and french rolls add ons). The portion is big so it was well enough for 3 people. The salt and pepper calamari was very good since the calamari is fried to perfection with the perfect batter ratio. It was well seasoned, crispy and not soggy. The seafood boil came out steaming hot and the flavor is on point! The seafood tasted fresh and the add ons are all delicious. Staff are very nice but they were all so busy so service was a bit slow. read more

When we pulled up my wife was a bit sketchy about the outside and asked if I had checked out the reviews. "Nope. We're going regardless." The inside is quite nice. Food was amazing. The waitress recommended 1-1.5 pounds per person and I think that was a good amount. The sides were overpriced in my opinion. I would skip the corn next time because it was a little dry. We ordered a lb each of clams, head off shrimp, crawfish, and added lb of snow crab. The seafood was good, potatoes was well cooked, the corn was good as well but a tad dry and overcooked. We were still hungry after finishing so we ordered another 2 lbs of shrimp and 1 lb of crawfish. The second batch had a more flavorful sauce even though we ordered the same kind. They came out with head on shrimp even though we ordered head off, but still tasted great.
