We got the Corned Beef Hash, Loco Moco, side of Country Fried Steak and Flight of Pancakes with lilokoi (passion fruit), cookie butter and chocolate taro pancakes. The hash was great because it comes with shredded corned beef, and not that canned stuff. The country fried steak is some of the best I've ever had. While it's a beef patty and not steak, the crispy fry and delicious gravy really make this dish. The pancakes are also super good and way better than traditional ones. It's a great dish to share along with savory ones. If you're staying in Ko Olina it's worth a visit to nearby Kapolei for breakfast as their offerings are way tastier and more reasonably priced than what the resorts have to offer. This breakfast spot is located in a plaza in Kapolei. If you're staying in Ko Olani this is just a short drive away. The breakfast is better than what any of the resorts have to offer. read more

Stopped by for Juneteenth with a friend so we could catch up! There were a good bit of people waiting but we got sat in about 20-25 minutes. Once we got sat we were brought waters and menus, and the staff was friendly. I ordered the chicken and avocado omelette with coffee (love the Mac Nut) my friend had the pancake flight! She loved it and said she will bring her daughter back! The portions were still made large with fresh ingredients. Every table was full but it wasn't too loud. But the food seemed just generic for me, with nothing too impressive. - Lilikoi pancakes = mainly came to try this since looked good, but the pancakes were generic and the sauce was just ok as well. Came across this via yelp (again). Took my car in for service in Waipahu and while waiting, decided to get some breakfast. Nice little spot. They do get busy so plan to wait at certain times. Me and wifey got seated right away; got there around 930ish am but by 10am, the line had about 10 ppl already. Since space is limited, you're pretty close to the table and ppl dining next to you. So if you're into having your space and all that, you might not like the spacing here. Got their breakfast burrito - it was good but not better than the ones at the coffee shop across Anaha condos at Ward Village. The pancake flight was pretty good however. Ordered the pancake flight, which came with 3 shortstacks (2 pancakes per flavor): Lilikoi, Ube, and Biscoff. The Lilikoi one is a sweet and tart bite, while the Ube is more of a thicker, darker pancake that's the least sweet of the three. The Biscoff pancake was the sweetest, and tasted just how you would imagine. Biscoff flavor in the glaze and crumbled cookie to top it off. Very good!! Definitely shareable. Also got the Kama'ai Na Scramble, with the potatoes fried crispy and the scrambled good well done. Added spinach to sneak in some veggies. It has bacon, ham, Portuguese sausage, spam, garlic, green onions, and cheese. You can also get rice or toast if you don't like potatoes. Hefty portion! Definitely shareable too. So glad I decided to make the trek out to Kapolei to try My Cafe because everything was amazing! I was drawn to this business initially because of their pancake flight, but seeing that they have chicken fried steak as well cemented my decision to go. We were told there was a 30 minute wait when we arrived, but it actually only took about 15 minutes to be seated. The interior is on the small side, with plastic dividers still in between each table. Of course I had to get the pancake flight, as well as the chicken fried steak & eggs. Tip: you can sub one of the pancakes in the flight with their malasada pancake for extra. Definitely do this because the malasada pancake was the best thing we ate and honestly one of my favorite things I've eaten this year so far. It featured fried exterior pancakes dusted in sugar sandwiching a light custard cream. I LOVED how creative and delicious this dish was; it really reminded me of eating a cream filled malasada. It was the perfect size and not too sweet either. I also really enjoyed their cookie butter pancakes. The chicken fried steak I got was huge and really yummy as well. Their gravy is super creamy and rich. I recommend getting their home fried potatoes as a starch. Okay, I did it. I told you guys I was going back with my family! This time, it was a party of 10 and a baby. They were still able to accommodate us on a busy Sunday afternoon, even with the post-church rush. They quoted our wait time 45 mins, which was pretty accurate. I tried the iced coffee, flight of pancakes, and kalua pig hash. Iced coffee does the job well (it's just coffee and ice but I'm fine with that), the flight was so flavorful. I'm not a fan of lilikoi so I can't speak on that. But the cookie butter and coconut haupia? So moist, soft, and just enough to share samples around the table. The kalua pig hash was so delicious as well! It definitely trumps the brisket hash as my new favorite. Only critique is, I don't care for the fried rice. It's over saturated with too much flavors, and it's a little too wet for my taste. But again, you might love it. After dining (since we were the last party), a man who seemed to be either the cook or the owner, asked us how the experience was. I also overheard him telling the girls on staff "great job today". Awesome leadership right there. Pretty cool to see as well some encouragement written on the walls, as they have the fruits of the spirit a part of their decor. Just a nice reminder to be a decent human to others, you know? The family agreed that My Cafe (although pricey), is a new favorite spot. Maybe we'll try to go earlier as to avoid the long wait, but I'd say the wait is worth it once you try the food and experience their kind service. I'll be back again, and again. read more

I ordered the Flight of Pancakes and my gf got the Keiki plate. Tip: the Keiki plate portion is a like full size plate for most adults. The regular plates have huge portions. The Flight of Pancakes consists of Mini style Cookie Butta Luva, Chocolate Taro-haupia, & Lilikoi pancakes. This place is known for pancakes they didn't disappoint. There were delicious! Got a side order of bacon and were tasty thick strips. The service was awesome. Staff greets you and are courteous and friendly. They serve water with a carafe left at your table. Cute little cafe in Kapolei! After searching a bit online, this restaurant popped up on my feed! We went on a Friday morning so luckily, there was no wait when we arrived. First impression is a really cute and casual restaurant, great for brunch with your family if you find yourself in the area. The giant menu they have written one the wall is super cool and you can tell they have a pretty extensive selection of items ... so there's definitely something for everybody! The smoked meat was so tender and flavorful, definitely the spot with some runny sunny side up eggs. My husband had pounded his entire plate so I'm assuming that it was hit too. He said he could definitely tell that the corned beef was made in house! The flight was also good, we mutually agreed that the lilikoi pancakes was the best out of the three. I will also say it might be worth it to pay for the extra sauce cause we ended up eating mostly the top pieces of the flight and I think a lot more sauce would of been good to balance it out. We decided to order different things to share so we ordered a flight of pancakes, a lox benedict, a kalua benedict and a side order of their smoked meat. My friend and I swapped one benedict from our plates so we got to try each one. They were busy and seemed stressed. The food arrived but they had forgotten our pancakes. When I was handed a bag and asked if I could eat in, one employee looked to the other, who replied "I guess" -- as if my staying was an imposition. I've been sitting here and haven't been offered so much as a glass of water. To top it off, I ordered my eggs over medium and they came out with a fully hard yolk. You don't have to eat the whole thing you can always share it with your group. It was a great ending sweet treat to our meal. 9/10 With the Beast, I ordered an extra side of hollandaise sauce to make it actually smothered with the hollandaise sauce. That made all the difference. It made it a 9/10 for me. My friend ordered a rice dish and the fried rice was over the top amazing. 10/10!! As always got a simple black coffee which was smooth and not acidic! The only reason I could not give them the 5th star was sadly the serve this time was not good, not friendly, no aloha love. Last time I dined in, wait time was nearly an hour so I opted for takeout since I know it gets crazy busy. Ordered malasadas pancakes and flight of pancakes which consist of cookie butter, chocolate taro haupia and lilikoi flavored cream sauce. I like that the sauce isn't overpowered with a strong sweet taste and has a light taste to it. Makes the pancakes a lot more enjoyable knowing it isn't just for sweet tooth's. Food: (3 people; 2 adults & 1 child) *1 flight of min pancakes (super sweet, more like a dessert) their syrup used to taste amazing, doesn't taste the same anymore, just super sugary syrup *original buttermilk pancakes- taste like any other buttermilk pancakes *Kalua Pork Benedicts- this was lacking enough kalua pork (not for their $20 price tag). Sourdough bread, meh.... Maybe over something better. I substituted it with fruits n they charged extra $2 for the fruits (they don't mention this...) Overall, they overcharge for everything. Charged me $2 for 2oz of salsa (they never mentioned this either! For black coffee, they charge you $5! Overall experience this place overcharges for just a hole in the wall joint. The breakfast was just ok and out the door with a kind of pricy breakfast of $85.82. I don't know what a family of 4+ would be.., over $100 for breakfast???? Seating is very limited here. I always feel lucky when the wait is short, and I feel blessed when there's no wait at all. Either way, it's worth it. I've tried a few different things on their menu, and I keep going back for the veggie fried rice, BEAST, bagel breakfast sandwich, kalua hash, Jalisco.......I guess I just keep going back. Sometimes I'll get a malasada pancake or the flight of pancakes for dessert. My mom never leaves without the avolicious smoothie. Orders and payment are taken tableside; a carafe of iced water is placed on the table; the coffee mug is huge. Servers tend to be friendly and efficient even while busy. The egg was perfectly runny, the Kalua pork was seasoned flawlessly, and the potatoes had just the right amount of seasoning as well. Saturday brunch with the family. If you're ever in Kapolei, this place is a must. When we got here, it didn't seem like there was a long wait. I had to go inside to put down my name, then they got my number so they could text when our table was ready. We waited for about 20 minutes, which flew by quickly for us because we walked around and were able to use the bathroom out and upstairs (no restrooms inside). This brunch/breakfast spot is in a small plaza with a lot of parking. We waited for about 30 minutes for our table which went by fast while we waited in the car to distract ourselves. When we finally were seated, the servers and staff greeted us warmly. Our drinks orders were taken right away and our food orders were quickly taken after that. The time from placing the order to picking up the order was quick (within 20 minutes). Picking up is also easy as your order is ready at the door by the time you pick it up. Now, review on the food. First, Loco Moco with fried rice. The egg was runny on arrival and wasn't overcooked. Everyone loves a good runny yoke over the patty, so that was a plus. The rice itself was flavorful and did not skimp on the flavor. Second, next time I'll order the Lox Benedict without capers, but that's just a preference. The amount of lox to egg to bread was an even ratio. The egg yoke was runny and the English muffin was toasted well. Third, the Loaded French Toast was a little underwhelming. The toast itself seemed a dry in my opinion, it could use a hit of syrup of some sort. Maybe next time, I'll ask for some syrup. They do have a haupia sauce that they include, but when I think of French toast, I think of moist gooey carb heaven. Disappointed because the reviews were pretty good! A $70 price tag for some Eggs and potatoes. The pancakes in the Keiki plate were pretty hard although the egg portion was large for a child. The scrambles are actually Omelettes so if you'd like it all scrambled up you'll have to ask. They also do not have any dairy milk so if you want milk for your coffee it will be almond or Oat milk. Similarly there is no cream other than the carrageenan fake creamer packets by coffee mate and international delight. The omelettes were pretty packed with ingredients and portion size is not the problem I think it's just the overall package didn't quite meet expectations. Everything was pretty dense and heavy so definitely recommend sharing. Small cafe so I don't recommend bringing a stroller and bathrooms are on the second floor in the strip mall so not sure how many businesses share the same facilities. No one took the time to toss the trash or move to area away from all the customers eating around it. Staff complaining that it's not their job to take it out. Not a great first experience at this restaurant and I will not be returning. We were having a good time with family and just felt very rushed, waitress kept coming around and asked if we are done with the check but we were still eating. The restaurant was not busy at all. There was no party waiting to be seated so I wasn't too sure why waitress kept wanting for us to pay.
