My friends and I decided to go here on a whim and we are so happy we did. The server was super sweet, the ambience was really comforting, and the food was amazing. They were able to help me figure out what I could and couldn't eat on the menu with my shellfish allergy, and the food portions were really good for the price. You can tell this is a small owned restaurant run by people who really love and care for their customers and the food they make. 10/10 would come back again! Please visit them if you are in the area! Update to my last review: Expanding and giving more information on my experience since the owner replied to my last one about her curiosity with "the prices doesn't match the offer", saying how I don't appreciate the love & dedication her staff put in, mentioned which Vietnamese restaurant offer lower price and better soup than hers, and how anyone with a minimum wage can eat at her restaurant First of all, I never put down her staff on the work they put in. From my last comment, I did mention how friendly their staff were and how the pho tasted ok. Not everyone has the same taste buds or palette with how good food taste like and that's the POINT of what REVIEWS are. Second of all, to clear up what "prices don't match what they offer". I requested a XL like my last comment suggested ("a big bowl of soup") which is $16.95. $16.95 for one noodles and 4 small pieces of meat which is half the size of my pinky with one small plate with exactly one lemongrass, one slice of jalapeño, and one small handful of sprout. And ofc as the owner, couldn't find better soup anywhere because obviously if im the owner, i would also too believe my restaurant is better than others. However, if im the owner, i would NEVER as much as putting down other businesses by saying that my food is better to a customer to in order to prove my point. Anyway, im gate keeping the viet restaurant I always go to (no it isn't on Broadway street) If the owner is so curious, that place 's pho is $17 but with 2 meatballs, 6 medium size meat of half the size of middle finger and ring finger sticking together, and 1 noodle with the side of 2 lemon grass, 2 slices of lemon, and 5 slices of jalapeño. Continuing on, by the owner also saying that "anyone with a minimum wage job can afford our food" fails to understand others point of view and comprehend who the customer is. Like what if the reviewer gets paid under minimum wage? Are they a full grown adult? Are they a high school student? Are they a college student? Are they a tourist or a local? Whatever it was, it was not ok either way on the owners comment on that. I understand the owner's frustration and I see that she is replying to every single yelp comment to improve her restaurant (?) Either way, as the owner, you should know that not every review is perfect and not everybody will like your restaurant very much. Your attitude and the way you move towards my comment deeply disappointed me, the reviewer indirectly. I was considering coming back, but after that comment of yours, it's telling me more about you from my pov, a stranger. As an immigrant myself like many others, I understand that business is hard at times and that everything needs to be perfect. There is a major disconnect between the staff either three of them checked in on me and asked me the same questions or nobody checked in on me until the end of my meal. Somehow, we ended up in Chinatown around 9 pm, and my friends thought of this hole-in-the-wall spot for a bowl of pho to warm us up. Surprisingly, most of the tables were occupied. We grabbed the last table that fit the 4 of us and started perusing the extensive menu. Waitstaff was efficient and accommodating. ***OUR PICKS*** VIETNAMESE SHRIMP ROLLS (2) ~ They used 1 1/2 shrimp per roll by cutting a shrimp in half. Each roll contained only noodles, lettuce, mint, bean sprouts, and shrimp. Usually in a spring roll, you'll get pickled daikon, carrots, and cucumbers. The only flavor you'll get is from the sweet hoisin & peanut dipping sauce. Pretty expensive when each roll is $5, and it's missing some key ingredients like pickled vegetables for flavor. 2/5 CHICKEN PHO (PHÓ GÀ) ~ My friend and I shared this bowl. Little did we know, it was going to be very small. I noticed it was barely a handful of noodles and onions with some shredded chicken, while I dished out 2 bowls for sharing. At least the chicken was dark meat, so it was tender. Glad I wasn't starving! 3/5 SPECIAL NOODLE SOUP (PHÓ ÐǍC BIÊT) ~ My other 2 friends shared this bowl of noodle soup. They had more meat, but just the same amount of noodles as ours. The broth lacked depth. 3/5 IMO, they're lucky to be in Chinatown with very little competition compared to Sunset or Richmond District. Prices are quite high for the amount of food that you get. We ordered their bun Bo hue because of the picture on the menu..it looked so good and my Go to was their banh canh cua.. when the food came out it looked nothing like the menu. It looked as if they whipped some left over pho meat and threw in bun Bo hue noodles. There's nothing authentic about this place. Take a look at the pic and ask yourself is this bun Bo hue? It was missing hella shit. And the banh canh CUA is totally skimp. They gave us 2 pieces of pork and one complete leg for 20 bucks. It is not worth the drive to come here and look for parking to be getting food that you can make better at home. I'm saddened that the owners sold this restaurant and has a new owner. The new owner is the waitress and does not run the restaurant. "The Chefs" have no idea what the hell they are cooking. Hole in the wall in Chinatown. Simple menu. They have a bit of everything which I like, not too many options. Got the pho dac biet $15 and beef stew ho fun $16. My friends and I came to Chinatown to do some shopping, saw the grand opening sign and decided to try it. There was a large group already there, sitting in different tables because the restaurant is pretty small. The restroom is located at the end of the kitchen and it's also small. There's a bucket of dirty water with a mop in it at the corner of the restroom, making it even smaller. The menu has good selection of pho and dry rice noodle/rice dishes. I ordered the combo pho and my friend ordered the grilled beef with spring roll noodle plate. The server came to take our order quickly and we got our food shortly. My pho was decent size. I'm glad that I didn't get the large size. There were several beef meatballs, tripe and beef. I wish there was more meat though. The soup has good beef flavor but little too salty for my taste. The Flower Fair in Chinatown was just as successful this year. With the hustling and bustling of the crowds, I know it's impossible for me to go to any Chinese restaurant and café. The more hungry customers to fill every table, the busier the restaurant had to be. And I barely had enough time to dine in any tea restaurant. Except for one place I go to for takeout, My Canh. What's good about My Canh? Pho, spring rolls, and banh mí sandwiches of course. Though it's just an ordinary Vietnamese café, it counts as a Chinese eatery. I know I should've let the waitress hold the jalapeño poppers since my parents didn't want me to eat spicy foods. I might visit My Canh in a later future. read more

Came here for lunch and got: (7/10) Small Special House Pho - I really appreciate them having 4 sizes of pho since I always feel bad for never finishing it, I enjoyed the broth and there was a variety of meat including tripe, flank, etc. Vietnamese Shrimp Roll (6.5/10) Vietnamese Shrimp Roll - Sauce was good, although the shrimp wasn't properly peeled as I found a piece of exoskeleton still. The place was empty when I first got there but the workers were welcoming. The workers also packed up my leftovers, although I had to wait a bit because the workers were all on the back. The interior is a bit dingy. They also have a 10% for sf residents and also was able to use my credit card here. I spent $23 total including tax and tip. I am a bit confused about their grand opening sign since it seems like they've been around for years now, but the owner seems like they are open to feedback. I've been here quite a few times and always love the food. They have a good mixture of Vietnamese foods - yes, even their sandwiches are tasty (and can be taken to go). My favorite dishes are the Pork ribs with rice and the Pho. With the Grilled Pork... it is really grilled and cooked to perfection. I love how it is seared and tender at the same time... and very flavorful. And with the Pho... I also love how the beef and noodles are cooked - rich in flavor and very filling (I like to get their largest one). They are also known for crab, and although it is tasty - I don't eat crab all too often, this is supposed to be one of their most famous dishes. And to top it all off... they also sell natural coconuts, which is so cool... You get an actual coconut, and its water all in one! The service is also very friendly and warm (neighborhood style), and they are very helpful in picking a dish and telling you more about it if you don't know much about it. And above all... the food does not take forever, unlike other restaurants. I am looking forward to going again and trying more tasty dishes from their menu! read more

It's was a warm day today and I didn't want to cook or eat anything too heavy, so decided to order some banh mi sandwiches from here. I ordered two - one grilled beef and grilled pork. The bread was definitely a highlight. It had that nice crisp exterior with a soft interior that you want in a good bánh mì. The sandwiches were enjoyable overall, but I did find the meat a bit light in flavor. I was especially hoping for more of that smoky, charred grill taste, which was missing for me. That said, it is still a good, satisfying sandwich, just not one that fully stands out compared to the other Vietnamese restaurants that closed down from a few stores down. The space itself is quaint and no frills, but it appeared clean and comfortable. It has that old school, casual Vietnamese restaurant feel that a lot of locals seem to appreciate. Service was a bit mixed. The waitress who took my order was pretty matter of fact, but another staff member really stood out. She was warm and attentive, offered me water while I was waiting, and even said goodbye when I left. That small gesture honestly made the experience feel more welcoming and is what pushed my rating up. Also, I noticed a sign about a singles meetup happening there, which I thought was kind of unexpected and interesting. Swung by here for lunch today & was greeted with such nostalgia! This place is such a staple in Chinatown. Growing up, my grandma and mom would take us here for a nice bowl of banh canh cha after my doctor's appointments or after Chinese school classes. I don't visit Chinatown as often now & my mom saw a few posts about the lines for My Canh so we decided to pay them a visit again. The space looks cleaner than before & staff and the owner Leanne were super friendly. My mom even recognized the ladies cooking in the back & said hi to them. Of course we all ordered the banh canh cua because obviously that's what they're known for. So happy that the flavors haven't changed & we don't have to drive all the way to San Jose for this. They asked if we wanted whole grab or peeled crab and we opted for whole. Lots of crab & pork blood though could use a little more noodles. Anyways, please come and try their banh canh cua! I had many wonderful experiences at My Canh Vietnamese Restaurant on 626 Broadway SF CA 94133 on a weekly basis. The first time I walked in, I noticed how clean and well-kept the entire place was- from the dining area to the restrooms, everything was spotless and inviting. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel welcome right away. They were patient, helpful with recommendations, and genuinely warm throughout the my dining experience. I usually let them order for me. And if course, the food was absolutely delicious! I had the Special Beef Pho, Crab Meat Udon, Beef & Eggroll Rice Vermicelli, Grilled Porkchop over Rice, Shrimp Rolls, Vietnamese Pancakes, and many other dishes. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. You can truly taste the authenticity and care in every bite. Overall, this restaurant is a gem - clean, friendly, and serving some of the best Vietnamese food in San Francisco. I will definitely be returning every week, and recommending it to others. I can't believe someone wrote a 2-star review that was drafted from January 2025, and posted in December 2025 to hurt this lovely restaurant. MY CANH, is a quaint family owned restaurant. Located at 626 Broadway at Columbus. I had the Seafood House Special. It was packed with tender shrimp, fishballs, pork, and fish cake. I chose the egg noodles. The broth was exquisite! The serve was rapid and as family friendly as my aunties I admire family businesses like this. Dedicated, hardworking family, and working for the American Dream! I will definitely return. The parking, typical SF, is a a fun challenge but very much worth it. read more

We came for dinner on a Friday night. The rare steak & flank pho was filling and had a tasty broth, the shredded pork rolls were flavorful, and the hot tea helped warm me up. The restaurant had a clean and relaxed atmosphere. Leanna and Bo were friendly and provided great service. I was looking for a place with free Wi-Fi and good coffee, and I'm so glad I found this spot right across from the Royal Pacific Hotel in Chinatown! Their iced Vietnamese coffee was absolutely delicious--strong, smooth, and perfectly balanced. The people here are super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. It can be surprisingly hard to find free Wi-Fi around Chinatown, so I really appreciated that they offer it here. Another big plus: they're "not cash-only". They take Apple Pay, Credit Cards, Zelle, Venmo--basically everything, which makes it super convenient. Great coffee, great vibes, free Wi-Fi, and easy payment options--can't ask for more. My partner ordered their pork chop rice combo that comes with shredded pork and bake egg. The bake egg was so tiny. We had to clarify with the waitress if it was the wrong portion. She was nice enough to give us another piece. Pork chop did not taste charred it was baked. Egg rolls had too much Taro, loosely rolled and didn't come with lettuce or Vermicelli on the side.
