Nan Hot Pot delivers a premium hot pot experience with high-quality ingredients and beautiful presentation. The wagyu beef was incredibly tender, and the three-way broth offered a great balance of spicy Sichuan, green pepper broth and tomato soup! The menu features a wide variety of meats, seafood, vegetables, and handmade items, all served fresh. Service was attentive, the restaurant was clean and modern, and the overall dining experience felt upscale. It's on the pricier side, but well worth it for the quality and presentation. I'd definitely come back.

We can hear at 5pm on Saturday to avoid any wait. We got seated immediately. Their side bar was smaller than expected. The spicy broth was not as spicy but delicious. The duck blood is the best I've had in the Bay Area. Their desserts are must-try!

Had dinner here with friends and had a good experience. We ordered a bunch of different items and everything was fresh. The meat was good and the portions were decent. It was a fun place to sit, eat, and chat. I would come back again.

I was here last week for a friend's gathering dinner. The spicy soup base is authentic and the meat products are high quality. Will visit again.

This is à la carte where you choose different broth options , you can go up to 3 broths! I can't handle spicy , so I chose a non-spicy option I love the variety of hotpot options where you can order directly from the tablet! There's a sauce bar to make your own sauce and they have small appetizer options (which is spicy btw) There's a soft serve machine to balance your taste buds after eating hotpot~

Nan hot pot is an elite hot pot experience. They have a great selection of authentic cuts of meat to choose from that you can't find elsewhere in SF. Their broth is also unbelievable. We got the spicy one and tomato one - both were incredibly pungent and delicious. The best part about the meal is the free ice cream after! A great idea for a cool down after a steamy and hot meal.

Great short rib but small portion

Excited to have another authentic Chinese hot pot option in this part of town! The broths and selection of items were excellent, the newly renovated interior was clean and modern, and the sauce bar was great, too. Everything is à la carte (no AYCE option) and the total for two, including tax and tip was around $120 so more expensive than the Hotpot Champ AYCE option down the street. The meat portions were tiny and quite expensive, and the lamb was not the highest quality - otherwise I would have given it 5 stars. The short rib was fantastic though.

Ice cream machine; place cone in holder and it'll work its magic

Great spot. Fantastic ventilation and good flavors. I was surprised to find this hot pot place, a couple blocks away from SF Chinatown. Interior is a little cramped, especially with the movable tray-carts butting up against tables for additional surface area for servers to stash the raw hot pot ingredients. Luckily, my party of six had a reservation for the evening, which was a blessing as there was a fair around the entrance. Table dimensions are well thought out, with everyone being able to reach to where the hot pot is located. It is a hot pot place and it's expected that you do a fair amount of work for your meal, but the staff were very focused on trying to get food to the table and nothing more beyond that. We had to really try hard to flag down staff to get us seated for our reservation, and during the meal, to get them to refill the broth when it ran low. Thankfully, there's lots of self-serve features in the place. There's a saucing station with plenty of recommended combos (including their house special oil). Self-serve ice cream where all you have to do is place the cone in the holder and the machines handles all the dispensing for you. And the table has a big cup of chopsticks, a jug of water, and other necessities to wrangle your food to your plate. My table did a split on the bases, and got the spicy beef tallow and a mushroom soup base. The spicy base was great and it like all hot pots, became more flavorful as the evening went on. Great ventilation is a huge plus to the place, along with the aprons they give everyone, so your clothes don't end up a mess nor smell like they were part of the hot pot too. Meats were fresh and flavorful. There is a very limited selection of non-meat options (only a few veggies and other things like noodles) so be prepared for a lot of meat. I would recommend Nan for hot pot in SF if you're going with a larger group as the table sizes and portions felt very geared towards parties of 4+ and would be harder to do with fewer. The restaurant setup, small amenities they offer and food is great, but expect very minimal help from the staff when you dine.

Came here with my family and no wait at 6:30 pm on weekday night. Good - Really tasty hotpot soup - Very quick with orders - Great sauce bar and nice cream - High quality ingredients! - IPad ordering process was nice - Very bustling casual vibe Bad - gets super packed by the night Overall really enjoyed this place and would come again.

My friends and I wanted to try this place since it had pretty good ratings and nice interior. We came here for Wednesday dinner, and it was pretty busy. Luckily, we had a reservation so it didn't take long before we were able to be seated. You get to choose 3 soups and all the food items are à la carte. The potato noodles was one of our faves! So were the balls with pork filling! We order by scanning the QR code and submitting. It did take some time for them to bring the items when we send in the orders. The tea was also tasty! We didn't know what type of tea but it tasted like chrysanthemum. The self serve ice cream was also pretty cool, although, we couldn't distinguish the flavor. Something similar to soybean milk, perhaps? Overall, was a good experience!

The best part of this hot pot place is that they have excellent ventilation for their hot pots! Ahem. Anyway, the food was also excellent quality and the sauces were nice. My group was able to sit equitably from the pot, and I liked they provided an entire container of chopsticks because it meant we could get alternate chopsticks for raw foods. Also very limited cross contamination of the broths! Very impressed.

I'd say this place is 4.5/5. The spicy Sichuan broth is spot on. Fragrant. The sour/spicy broth was not great imo. Meats quality is good here. Sauce bar has everything you need. The mango sago drink was great.

Finally, an authentic modern hot pot in the city proper. Great vibes and decor. Super high quality meats and broth. It's an a la carte offering, not ayce, which may end a bit pricier but offers a much tastier experience. The beefs were tender and meaty, the fish was fresh and soft. They also have ice cream and bing fen included. Definitely will be back with a larger group to try more!

It is kind of expensive. We have 3 people, including 1 kid and spent about $350 plus tax for the lunch.

I really enjoyed the sauce bar, which had a few different recipes shown for based on regional preferences for these dipping sauces.

He and his partner like to come here and I'm glad they introduced us to it. ~$100 pre-tip for 4 dishes for 4 people (plus rice) in SF in 2026? Not too shabby! We were full and very content (though we did almost tear up from the spice.) It was pretty busy on a Saturday night and they also do a pretty good takeout/delivery business. I must shoutout their dandan noodles (very peanutty and nice noodle texture) and Stir-Fried Chicken with Hot Chili and Spices(风味辣子鸡)and Spicy Fried Chinese Cabbage(炝炒莲白). The spicy chicken was the highlight. Very good crunch, flavor, and spice. Truly numbing. We devoured it. Everything was good and I will be back! I love mapo tofu and will try that next time! Service was fine. We drank so much water.

We ordered eggplant , cucumber salad , fried rice with crawfish and fried chicken wings . Pretty standard , eh? We had taken a guest who wanted to try these dishes . The cook threw in a bunch of dry chili peppers and Szechuan peppers with the same sauce and chili oil in all of the dishes , a lot of sugar in the eggplant . The fried rice was mushy and again spiked with the 'hot' sauce . Big servings but we couldn't eat it . If you are not as fussy and discerning and want quantity over quality, this is the place for you . Never again .

We stopped by Z&Y Peking Duck for lunch on a Sunday and really enjoyed the experience. The…read morerestaurant has a polished, modern atmosphere, and I liked how the food was presented in a more elevated way while still keeping that familiar Chinese family-style dining experience of ordering several dishes to share around the table. We ordered quite a spread: Peking duck, pork belly, house fried rice, shrimp noodles, crab maw soup, lamb, two orders of siomai, hot tea, and a lychee mojito. The house fried rice and shrimp noodles were easily my favorites. The fried rice was flavorful and one of those dishes I kept going back to throughout the meal. The shrimp noodles were another standout and paired really well with everything else we ordered. Of course, we had to get the Peking duck. The presentation made it feel like the centerpiece of the table and really fit the restaurant's more modern approach. My mom especially enjoyed the lamb, and we also ordered two orders of siomai to share. The pork belly leaned more on the sweet side, which wasn't really for me, but my husband thought it was good. I think that one comes down to personal preference--if you enjoy a sweeter flavor with your pork belly, you'll probably appreciate it more than I did. The crab maw soup was just okay for me on its own. Stanley had made us a special sauce for the siomai, and I decided to add a little to my soup. Surprisingly, it made such a difference! It gave the soup the extra flavor I felt it needed. For drinks, we had hot tea and a lychee mojito. The hot tea was a nice pairing with all the food, while the lychee mojito was light and refreshing. Stanley, our server, was great throughout lunch. He was friendly, attentive, and very informative about the menu and the dishes we ordered. He took the time to answer our questions and explain things, which we really appreciated. Overall, we had a great Sunday lunch at Z&Y Peking Duck. I enjoyed the modern, elevated presentation while still being able to order a table full of dishes to share. Not every dish was necessarily for my personal taste, but that's part of ordering family-style--everyone at the table had their own favorites. The house fried rice and shrimp noodles were definitely mine, while my mom especially enjoyed the lamb. I'd definitely come back and explore more of the menu next time.
