    Garlic Noodles with roast duck
    Elaine L.

The best meal we had in SF! The music was just as good as the food; the music was honestly better than our wedding dj. Immaculate 100/10 , would return! The garlic noodles are more sweet than savory fyi!

Food 5/5 - mmm..mmm..hmm--this place hit the spot! Things ordered: 1. Pho combination--it was very good broth, not too much salt either. It was delish!!! 2. Thai tea--refreshing! 3. Spring roll-this was very fresh and by far the best tasting spring roll I had in a restaurant. The peanut butter sauce really hit that spot! Service 5/5 - The service was immediate, I only waited under 10 minutes. This Is a family owned restaurant. The lady gave me a extra refill Thai tea. Ambiance 5/5 -It was clean. Hard to find parking off 6th and Bryant or in that area but this Food Is worth it.

    This doesn't look like oxtail.

My heartbreaks for restaurant owners when I see people leaving bad reviews. However with the prices of gas and food going up, not to mention tax, tip, convenience fees, sf mandate health fee, and traveling I completely understand. I saw this place had great reviews and decided to check them out. I tried ordering online and was having difficulty so I called the restaurant directly. Instead of a live person I got an AI voice chat operator. Weird to say the least. Finally was able to order and pick up my food. I ordered oxtail pho and fresh spring rolls. Got home, ready to eat, and I noticed the meat looked and smelled old. Threw the oxtail away. The thin noodles I ordered with the pho were still a bit hard. They needed another 2-3 or 4 minutes to be soft enough to eat. The broth wasn't hot enough even after I reheated it to soften the noodles. The spring rolls were not giving fresh at all. I drank a few sips of broth, and threw the entire meal away. Money and time wasted. I really wanted to like this hole in the wall, but to claim to be best Pho in the Bay is a stretch.

Hands down the best pho ever! Great service, and our server did an amazing job taking care of everyone even while busy. This was my third time here, but my husband and sister's first--and after one taste of the broth, it became their favorite pho spot too. Highly recommend!

Delicious flavor! Rich, savory broth with depth. I ordered the beef combo pho. Beef was so tender and of a high quality. Would definitely get again and would recommend this spot for anyone looking for some great pho! The service was also quick and friendly. Theres also some seating inside the restaurant if you want to dine in.

I stumbled into Pho De Nguyen when I was out on Jury Duty, having looked up locations around the area, only to find other restaurants being ghost kitchens. Pho de Nguyen was right on the corner, and of course, I had to stop by. The ambience of the place was pretty busy; you can imagine a bunch of jurors coming out for Lunch and waiting to grab a meal before heading back in. I was lucky to get in before a large rush and was seated quickly. They have a good amount of seating, including a large table for folks who don't mind that shared customer experience. I had a seat by the window and wish I had chosen the shared table as it was away from the sun, but I was already committed! I checked out the menu and there was a lot of selections to choose from, and I was heavily debating about the Pho that my friend who lives nearby grabs all the time, but me being a fan of broken rice, I had to go for the Com Tam over beef, aka Broken rice over beef along with a Vietnamese coffee, because damn, I was falling asleep that day. The food came out after about 10 minutes, and wow, did it look good! I forgot to take a photo of the Vietnamese coffee because I downed it so quickly, but it matched the ones that I normally get when I go to San Jose! I poured a good amount of fish sauce over the rice, beef, vegetables, and fried Cha Gio (Spring rolls), and damn, was it good. There aren't that many places outside of San Jose that I come to around San Francisco for a rice plate, but this will be another one I add when I'm in the area and craving Vietnamese. The beef was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful, the Cha Gio was piping hot and crunchy, and I just scarfed it down. The rice is fluffy and great with the fish sauce, and the veggies, well, the veggies are always a good mix with this combo. Overall, great food, great coffee, great hospitality, and the owner/worker was extremely friendly!

Had jury duty and wanted to get some pho for lunch nearby. There are no physical menus at this place and orders are taken by scanning a QR Code to bring up a website. I ordered a Pho Dac Biet with a good amount of meat and noodles.

N1.Phong's Beef Bun Bo Hue. Glistening broth which has more noods and broth than meat. Reminds me of Burmese fish noodle soup. Coke is $4

First time eater but a long time lurker. I wandered in after dying to have some pho since I feel under the weather. I finally went today and here's my honest review Food: $4 for an 8 FL oz coke and $19 bowl of pho. The pho does photograph well and looks very appetizing. There's more broth and noods than does meat. Broth is flavorful, briny, and does the job. I got their spicy pho beef and pork soup. It's spicy so don't get it if your spice level is less than one chilli pepper. You'll sweat through all your crevasse and cry! If you're a spice champ then this would be a good pho to get. I wouldn't say it's going to be my new go to spot but if I ever found myself needing emergency pho, this place does the job. Ambiance: the layout reminds me of Turtle Tower which was here before this place came in. The music on the speaker is super loud and blasting viet pop. It's fine if you don't mind it but it can be distracting if you're trying to have a cute date with someone or yourself. The got artwork everywhere and honestly it adds the charms. Service: 3.5 stars for me. Two of the workers wear gloves BUT was touching EVERYTHING with the same gloves. This includes the coke can I ordered AND the napkins I asked for. Gloved hands does not always mean sanitary. Mind you the same workers wore same pair of gloves entire time I was there while continue to touch every surfaces at the establishment. It does not help that one of them wore the same pair of gloves to pack to go fish sauce containers , handling cash and bills, fill to go Vietnamese coffee, and also handling to go order. Honestly, this is a no no

Recently tried Pho de Nguyen again because I was in the area for jury duty. Busy lunch rush. QR code ordering. Got a bowl of the Pho Tai. The noodles were overcooked. The broth was okay. Not the best I had unfortunately. The water cup I was given had oil in it. A tad sloppy. I know it's lunch rush tho so maybe just an off day. Not much interaction from the staff, but they seemed friendly. Located on 6th St and Bryant.

I was curious what became of the former Turtle Tower space on 6th and Bryant since they moved to California Street to become a pricier version of itself (review: https://yelp.to/4OlUZUDKyn). This San Bruno-based pho shop decided to move in, and I thought there might be a chance that I could get the chicken giblet pho I was craving. Fat chance. They serve chicken pho but no signs of innards. I got here at a less than ideal time. A large work party dominated the space, and the only seat available was a narrow counter facing the wall. I felt like I was being punished by my homeroom teacher. Feeling frisky, I decided to order the $23 Ox Tail Pho, which was definitely on the higher end of the menu. The bowl arrived completely filled to the rim with scorching hot broth (Photo 6). Spillage was inevitable and when the too-hot-to-touch bones slid off my chopsticks, big splashes occurred. Why they didn't offer a plate for the discarded bones, I don't know. I used what was left of my raggedy napkin as my own boneyard. The ox tails were not as fall-off-the-bone tender as I was hoping, but they were tasty enough. The broth lacked richness but not flavor. I missed my giblets though. FOOD - 3 stars...blistering hot broth and bones, but the ox tails had meat on them AMBIANCE - 3 stars...no changes from the Turtle Tower days SERVICE - 3 stars...not much interaction TOTAL - 3 stars...hopeful it will improve...and add giblets! Came late to this establishment as I was craving pho and all of the other nearby Vietnamese restaurants were closed. Not sure if this is the regular playlist, but we came around 9pm and they were bumping loud EDM! I'm not mad about it, felt like I was at a rave (can I check this one off my bucket list?). Maybe not the best spot for a first date lol. Servers were very chill, though we had a major spill at our table and nobody helped to clean it up. Hopefully they just didn't see or hear it...benefit of the doubt! Alright, let's get to the food: Pho Dac Biet - 3/5 your average bowl of pho, not bad, not exciting. I've definitely had better, the broth wasn't the most flavorful. Portioning of meat was good, and I enjoyed the cooked-ness of the noodles. Thai Tea - 3/5 not my favorite Thai tea, i'll be honest. Looked like they used whole milk which didn't affect the taste much but made it less creamy than I'm used to. Overall, I'm happy to have tried it, and I'm open to coming back to try some other menu items.

    Alex H.

No frills pho spot open relatively late at night in the Mission Bay area. Atmosphere is energetic as the workers are bumping EDM and lively pop. I got the pho dac biet and it was solid with generous protein portions. Definitely satisfies any craving you have for soup. Paid street parking can be difficult to find.

We ordered the Papaya Salad, Veg Spring Rolls, House Favorite Yellow Curry, Eggplant Basil, Pad Kee Mao, and White Rice. The Papaya Salad was a bit disappointing. It was overly sour and tasted more citrusy than fresh and lime-forward. The Veg Spring Rolls were fine, but nothing particularly memorable. The biggest letdown was the Yellow Curry. It lacked the rich flavor I typically expect from a Thai curry, and some of the vegetables seemed undercooked. The Eggplant Basil was also underwhelming. It lacked the distinct basil flavor that the dish is known for. Since we ordered the vegetarian version, it came loaded with a mix of other vegetables, which made it feel more like a generic vegetable stir-fry than an eggplant basil dish. The Pad Kee Mao was the standout of the meal. It had good flavor and was enjoyable, although the portion size felt a bit small for the price. Overall, the food was ok, but nothing really stood out. I've had better Thai food elsewhere, both in terms of flavor and value. While the experience wasn't bad, it wasn't memorable enough to make me want to return. For the price point, I expected more authentic flavors and better execution.

If you're looking for a calm, relaxing place to eat, I wouldn't say this is the place. It's sort of an "in and out" situation. I ordered the spicy G.K.O. So so delicious. One of the standout appetizers was the spicy enoki chips. They were packed with flavor while still feeling light and crispy. Fair warning--they definitely bring some heat! I love spicy food, and while the spice didn't linger much on my tongue, it definitely had my nose running a bit. My husband ordered the GKO ramen bowl, and it was absolutely loaded with flavor. The garlic-forward broth was rich, savory, and incredibly satisfying. It does get a little heavy toward the end, and you'll probably leave with garlic breath--but it's 100% worth it. I ordered the Spicy Signature Toripaitan ramen, and we were both glad I did. Despite the name, it's not particularly spicy, which was perfectly fine with me. The broth was creamy, flavorful, and comforting without being as rich as the GKO. The duck chashu was incredibly tender, and the oyster mushrooms added a wonderful chewy texture that balanced the bowl beautifully. Add the enoki chips to the broth, you won't regret it! Service was great. We were checked in on frequently and always had a refill when needed which was definitely needed when we ate the enoki chips. At least for my husband anyway. Overall, we absolutely loved the ramen here. Every dish was flavorful, filling, and thoughtfully prepared. We left happy, full, and already looking forward to our next visit.

I've been to plenty of Japanese/Ramen spots and I've been running into the issue where I say I have a soy allegry and there is an assumption that I have a gluten issue (I do not have a gluten issue). I noticed yelp said they have soy-free options and thus called on Friday thinking it might be a bad idea as they're usually busy.. It was defintely hard for the person to hear a bit when they picked up. The staff did relay something about gluten free noodles.. We go and I asked which 4 of the soups I was eyeballing don't have soy - the staff said they can accomodate and replace any of the soy soups with a salt broth. We had it family style. The 3 of us shared it all. There was plenty to go around. None of us left hungry. I can't even pick a favorite. Maybe the numb and spicy which wasn't that spicy. Menu is relatively the same as Dumpling Home featuring my faves like the numb and spicy XLB and the sheng jian bao. Both very delicious! The remainder of the dishes we got were also good. I will say the green beans left me wanting a bit more from it. But overall, my party had a nice, fulfilling meal. Dumpling Home will always be my favorite (still prefer it a TINY bit), but because there is less of a crowd, service was amazing! I definitely wouldn't mind coming back considering there the difference in wait time to Dumpling Home.

If you're not able to squeeze into the first wave, the wait is upwards of 2 hours! FOOD: We ordered one galbi jim with extra noodles and rice cakes and a separate garlic noodles for a party of 5. While we initially thought we could finish two galbi jims, our server cautioned us against it, referencing the healthy portion size. We were glad we took her advice because everyone was stuffed by the end of our meal. Their galbi jim was flavorful, with extremely tender beef and chewy rice cakes. We ordered the lowest level of spiciness and while there was still a kick, it was extremely manageable. SERVICE: We were the first to be seated and our galbi jim took almost 20 minutes to come out while others waited even longer. However, they comped our garlic noodles and apologized for turning waits. Overall, I'd definitely return if I'm able to get into the first wave of seating.

Typically what I saw was they do waves of seating and ordering so if you aren't there right at open/when they fill up, plan to write your name down and grab a drink nearby. Once we got seated, they were pretty prompt to give us utensils, napkins, cups, and water. The two of us shared the Braise Beef Galbi Stew. It's more than enough for 2 people to go home in food comas (with some food remaining) and for 3 to be sufficiently full. If you have big eaters, order an app alongside if you have 3 people. The Galbi stew was exceptional. I liked that they had various levels of spiciness. We went with spicy and it had a nice kick that elevated the dish for me. The beef was very tender and flavorful and the veggies and rice cakes soaked up all the juices. And the cheese was so stretchy! I'd actually rank this place slightly above Daeho given the shorter wait, the quality, and the price. I'll be back for sure.
