I had an issue where my car wouldn't start. Since I didn't live within the Indianapolis city limits, my car had to be towed to their shop for diagnostics. 3 days later they decided that it was my fuel pump that was keeping my car from starting. John gave me a rundown of what it was going to cost me ($325), and I approved them to do the work. I was also told that they would be done same day (Monday..three days after they took my car), yet by the end of the day I had heard no news on the progress of my car. When they finally contacted me, they told me that they changed the fuel pump, but the car still wouldn't start....hmmm it wouldn't start when they got it and after fixing what they considered to be the problem it still wouldnt start. Days past and I was still the one who had to contact them for updates on the progress of my car...they decided they had left my battery unhooked too long and needed to reflash my security system...hmmm I wonder if that was the issue to begin with...Finally on Saturday (1 week and 1 day after they took my car) they tell me it is finished and I can pay over the phone and pick it up on Sunday. When they give me the rundown on my bill they charged me an extra $500 for work I neither knew they were doing, nor approved for them to do. Then they held my car hostage until I paid the bill. Now...you would think this would be the end of it right?....wrong...I get there to pick up my car to find that they had not only broken my hydrolic shock on my lambo hinge, but damaged my fender from continually opening the door incorrectly. Do you think they have accepted any responsibility for incorrectly diagnosing my car, locking down my security system, or damaging my hinge and door....no! It is my fault the security system was locked down and the tow truck drivers fault that my hinge no longer works correctly. I would no recommend giving your car to these incompetent morons...you are much better off going somewhere else. read more

As a female, I tend to dread any car service or repairs because I hate feeling like I have to prepare for battle. Most places love to take advantage and suggest every possible addition to get you to pay the largest price. This was absolutely not the case with John and his team. He took the time to explain everything to me and even helped me understand what was most important to address and what could wait in case budget was a serious concern. I waited at the shop for about three hours while they assessed my car and did repairs. Their waiting are was very accommodating - with phone chargers and outlets available for me to plug in for work. They offered Netflix, bottled water, and even a very clean women's restroom which is something I have never seen before in a mechanic shop. I am happy with the work that was done to my vehicle, the price that I paid, and more importantly, the way that I was treated. I highly recommend this place to everyone - but especially women who are sick of feeling taken advantage of at other places. You will not be disappointed! read more

Having 2 children under the age of 4 I was absolutely terrified of my car dying with my kids in the car on a hot summer day. I refused to take my car with my kids because it was dying almost every day a half hour or less after I started it, and a few times it acted like it wouldn't start back up in the middle of a busy road. I had probably the best car repair experience of my entire life today. These guys really went above and beyond anyone else I've ever delt with including a personal mechanic friend. I couldn't believe the quality and quickness of service. Honestly, the car repair world has the potential to be very shady and it was so relieving to find a place so transparent. Unique waiting area with Netflix, Coffee/Hot Cocoa and very comfortable seats. Definately an awesome vibe! The owner (John) was, from the moment I called to the moment I left, the most helpful and informative mechanic that has looked at my car. This guy truly cares about his customers; which was apparent to me by the way he recognized repeat customers, treated every question with respect by answering above and beyond to be sure you fully understood, to his fair prices in the services completed. He made me feel like I was a friend instead of a price$$$ tag. I was there to figure out why my light bulbs went out in my Black Jetta. He had his guys check quickly and lucky for me it was simply something wrong with the bulbs. Even though the problem wasn't complicated, I was just so happy with the owner's service that I had my tires rotated and plan on coming this weekend to get an ailment. If you're having car trouble's in Indianapolis this is definitely the place to go! If I could give them more stars I would! I created this Yelp account just for them! The owner/manager, John, was incredible. He also has a great team working with him! We were on our way to Michigan and needed some work done that wasn't necessarily easy to do. No other place was even willing to help us until later in the day. One of the technicians went and bought a part for us, and they changed our spark plugs and ignition coils in (maybe) 1 hour and a half. Every other place wanted us to drop it off and pick it up in the afternoon. John fully took into account our circumstances and helped us in so many ways. I am so glad I went to John, When our oil pump went out he was the only mechanic that I talked to who knew about the 4.7 Dodge motors, Our first phone call went great. Just had my second experience with My Car Doc, and I will let you know that they did not disappoint at all once again. During my first experience I had them just check out the car, and I did not end up taking any services at that time, but there was literally no pressure or fight back on what I wanted to do vs what I should do. Where my previous mechanic would use fear tactics to get another 500 dollars here and there. Upon my second visit with John, he was happy to see that I came back and enthusiastically serviced my car despite not servicing my car the first time. There are other "mobile mechanics", but none with John's professionalism and honesty. It is hard to find people to trust these days and I don't know about you, but mechanics aren't at the top of my list. I have found my car guy in John Cannon and his team of professionals. The Best! I was visiting family in Carmel Indiana when my aging Lexus turned into the Exxon Valdez in their driveway. Apparently rust ate away at the transmission cooler lines and the car became inoperable. Thanks to Waverly, John and Chris at My Car Doc, they were able to put Humpty-Dumpty back together again in a timely and cost-effective measure. They were able to do what other shops in the area were unable to do; so my hat goes off to their team! I called John on a Thursday evening to see about making an appointment for overheating/AC problems, and he was able to come out to my work the next morning and get it checked out. He had fixed the issue and had it back to me within like 3 hours, and even did some extras for me, including some air in my tires and an oil change! It saved me from having to spend a whole Saturday at a garage and a lot of stress. Plus he texted me with updates and estimates for repairs, which was awesome. Each and every time I come here I am given such exception treatment I leave feeling like I should have paid more. John and My Car Doc are a very professional team. My work truck was having fuel related issues and I feared it might be the fuel pump which would have been an expensive fix. I got my truck to the Car Care Clinic on a Friday night with the understanding that I make money with the truck and couldn't afford a lot of down time. They checked it out and found that the problem was a much less expensive fix. By Monday evening I had my truck back to use for my job on Tuesday. Less reputable mechanics would have changed the fuel pump plus the mass airflow sensor and hit me double. I really value honest mechanics, they have my business for the future! read more

He also understands budgets. He will chat with you about what needs to be done vs. what should be done and do everything he can to keep you within your budget. I was driving from Phoenix AZ to Alexandria VA when I noticed my car was making some terrible sounds. I stayed the night in Indianapolis and a friend recommended their services. I went there and the people there treated my dog ( G the bulldog) and I like family. They made sure that my car was in the best condition possible to complete my trip as safe as possible. They could've charged me a rediculous price to repair my car but they were mostly concerned about me getting to my family in Virginia. The price was for the repairs were fair and honest.
