literally my dog is at his happiest when he is at my dog hikes. cannot thank you enough and the people who run this are special. they really get our pup and all his needs

My Dog Hikes is the best of the best. This company has the most incredible staff (specifically, we worked with Andrea and Kaelynn for training and walking) who have allowed our pup to be her very best self. Andrea and Kaelynn show up for us rain or shine with the best attitudes, making it such a joy to see them each session. Our dog adores them and we have seen such growth through the training sessions. They have helped our goldendoodle puppy with separation anxiety, the proper way to walk, listening skills, how to calm her hyperactivity, and so much more. We are so grateful for this team who take the time to teach us the skills so that we can continue the training on our own, and they post lengthy messages and pictures in the app that MDH uses so that we can always follow along on the journey and progress. We have seen a huge transformation in our puppy and would not have been able to do any of this without the help of MDH. The level of professionalism and true knowledge of dogs/dog training is so apparent, and Andrea and team establish trust with both owner and dog from the very first session. We are saddened to end our sessions with Andrea (as our pup has learned all she can from her) and will miss seeing her every week! If you have ANY training needs I could not recommend My Dog Hikes more. Call this team, you will not regret it and your dog will live their best life!! Thank you Andrea and team - you saved us!

My Dog Hikes is an incredibly special place. Our dog Pesto goes on weekly hikes and uses their dogcation (boarding) often when we are traveling and I could not have better things to say. They are reliable, communicative, thoughtful and most importantly safe. We love receiving personalized, daily updates and photos of Pesto on his hikes and during his stay. We've had the team pick him up from our apartment with no issues. MDH is a seamless operation, run by people who know and love dogs. Pesto is so enriched and excited every time he's with his MDH family. We can't thank them or recommend them enough!

Winnie hiking in the rain like a champ !!

My doxie mix, Winnie, is completely obsessed with My Dog Hikes! Obsessed. She has a tiny hot-dog body, with the heart of a Doberman lol, and I really wanted to write this review to encourage more dog parents out there with smaller dogs to give their pint-sized pups a chance to be the big dog that they THINK they are! :) While the other dogs in Winnie's pack range in size, they are so good to her, and make sure to play with her (gently!); letting her know that it's not the size of the dog on the hike, it's the size of the hike in the dog ha....Initially, I didn't even know if Winnie could participate in the hikes, given her pint-sized physique, but Andrea and Kristian, her pack leaders, make sure that every dog, from gentle giant to low-rider, feels like they are the heart of the pack, and they really let all of the dogs shine. As a testament to how much fun Winnie has on her hikes, she is even ecstatic to go on her hikes when it's RAINING. Like most dogs with short legs, Winnie absolutely LOATHS the rain. HOWEVER, if I say "My Dog Hikes" to her, she throws on her raincoat without ANY puppy dog eyes, and is ready to take on 1,000 raindrops in true lionheart fashion lol. As evidence, attached is a picture of her in her raincoat, absolutely covered in mud from doing about 20 of her [now] signature helicopter-spin/body-slams into puddles, and a long day of hiking. My Dog Hikes takes such good care of Winnie, and they go above and beyond to make sure that I am updated with fantastic pictures and videos along the way..... Thank you, My Dog Hikes !!

For a while I thought MDH was too good to be true. Our doodle loves hiking and the woods and basically lived for the weekends when everyone wasn't gone during the day. We stumbled upon Andreas business and I figured we'd give it a try. Dog joy!!!!!!!! Everyone at the company is kind, and our dog truly loves them and can't wait to jump in the van. It's possible she likes MDH and Andrea and her employees more than she likes us. The business is super professionally run. It has made our lives with a dog in the city so much better. So thankful we stumbled upon this company when we saw their van and looked them up on IG. Thank you Andrea and co!!!!!!

My Dog Hikes deserves five stars, two thumbs, and four paws up! They are truly the best dog care service. My Dog Hikes provides the most special level of care, communication, and FUN for your dog! My dog, Winston, is a 4-pound Chorkie (Chihuahua/Yorkshire Terrier mix). He goes hiking every week with My Dog Hikes! Winston has always been very active for a small dog. Giving him the opportunity to run, jump, prance and swim outdoors, off-leash, in the woods is so special! He has become so strong and self-aware. The outdoor activity truly does make a world of difference when it comes to obedience. (Not to mention how ADORABLE it is to watch their adventures all day via Instagram @mydoghikes). Andrea and all the staff are truly amazing. I have no worry letting my tiny dog out in the woods with them, and am so grateful! I'd go as far to say it's a necessity if you have a dog in the city. If you're looking for a dog walker, sitter, nanny or any other dog service, I'd recommend My Dog Hikes above all else!!

Andrea and My Dog Hikes Changed My Life!

Andrea the owner of My Dog Hikes saved me from having to rehome my dog Prince. He was aggressive towards my other dog and I was very close to rehoming him but Andrea was able to give me the tools I needed to make my home a peaceful and civil environment. I live out of state and Andrea and I did a Zoom session and she saw my home setup and determined the best way to ensure that Prince would thrive and not have aggressive episodes. After I described his behavior to her she knew what type of dog he is and what his issues were and what he needed and it was then my job to follow through on these "rules" in order to make my home work. Otherwise the alternative was that I would have to rehome and give up a dog I really really loved. And I did not want it to come to that. Thank You Andrea and My Dog Hikes! You Changed My Life!

    our puppy

When it comes to training dogs, Andrea Klein is a genius. My wife and I are both in our 50s and have never had a dog. When Covid hit the NY area, we decided to get a puppy. Several weeks later we met our new 8 month old yellow lab, Bodie. With Andrea's help via Zoom, we were able to train Bodie. Though Bodie is now only 5 and a half months, when we call for him at the beach ("touch") - he leaves all his dog friends and runs to us. We didn't realize what a big deal this is until the experienced dog people praised his training. Thank you Andrea Klein - we will continue to come to you for Bodie's ongoing training!

This is one of the best companies I have dealt with in ANY industry. Andrea and team are simply the best. They treat every dog with respect and have the utmost concern for their safety. To say otherwise is just a lie. Trust me, her service is the single best thing you can do for your dog. The New York Times did a disservice to her. I'm sure she will work out any situation regarding location but to question her values is inappropriate and patently unfair

We haven't had a single trip that's gone without major issues because of sitter neglect and lack of care. We decided to try boarding to help with our cat's separation anxiety and we still can't believe how well it went. Communication and expectations were open and clear, and the sitter went above and beyond to make sure our cat felt safe and cared for, even with her timidity and fears. She did so much to ease her anxiety and help her in the stressful situation of unfamiliarity and interrupted routine. It was a dream come true to find someone like this. I was also reassured by concluding a contract with the company, which clearly stipulates all provisions of the boarding and when we'll receive updates/photos, etc. It eased our minds so much compared with past experiences when communication was totally sporadic despite someone living in our home. We will absolutely book through them in the future. Their professionalism and dedication were so appreciated!

As everyone who owns cats already knows, you cannot introduce cats like this. And how did I find out? The cat was in the background of the update photo she sent on night one. I insisted on a full refund and rightfully received it, but have heard absolutely nothing from management (Ed), no apology from Anna B who "didn't know what the big deal was" and got zero responses to my two emails. Very disappointing experience. I cannot speak for other sitters or managers, but based on my experience I'd recommend choosing another boarding company!

I called paws in Chelsea in a desperate time of need and happened to be down the block and they were life savers! They told me to bring him in immediately and were able to keep him occupied for a few hours for an amazing price. I cannot thank them enough for their graciousness and being so kind to my nervous and frightened kitty. Not many places take cats and was so grateful for their help and hospitality.

The veterinarian found the cause of wound to be inconclusive but did confirm it seemed to be (recently) environmental and not self-inflicted (as our dog could not personally reach that area on her body). They did not rule out another dog attacking ours but said that was most likely not the cause. The fact is that we dropped our healthy, clean dog off in good condition and she left with a serious, visible wound as the pictures show - this was not there prior to the drop off and it's quite frankly insane and offensive that was up for debate by Paws of Chelsea. I'm giving two stars as the staff was professional and communicative in handling this issue, on the way to the veterinarian. However, there was zero accountability on their part and we were met with excuses and blame. Paws of Chelsea did give us one free night of boarding which was appreciated but was not nearly as much as we had to spend on an extremely expensive vet bill and the discomfort our dog suffered. Based on reading other reviews and how the owner chooses to respond, I do not suggest this place for boarding. If someone is choosing to board, I HIGHLY suggest doing a full examination with pictures, before dropping off your dog and signing their waiver.
