This shop is really great, super helpful and honest. I stopped by yesterday to replace a broken phone case, which I bought from these guys over a year ago. The man behind the counter told me it was probably covered by a manufacturers warranty. He took the time to find the receipt in their system and print it out for me. I took my iPhone5 in for repair and they are really nice, seem like they know what there doing. I can tell they have some kind of experience. But they did not fix my phone. They never would call me. I would call for updates and two days before I picked up my phone they said they were almost done and will be ready in two days....two days later I go to pick it up he tells me they couldn't fix one side of the phone. They did not charge me anything. But I won't ever come back here. I went right then and there to the Apple Store and bought me a new iPhone that's how annoyed and pissed off from them I got. Repling to comment: it was a logic board on a iPhone 5c and I called you on the phone talked it out more then once and my husband brought it in to ur shop and he picked it up... just take my review as is don't try to act smart and make me look like I never brought my phone in and it never happened I could go into more details like the date but I won't!! I have nothing but good things to say about this company! I was incredibly impressed with their professionalism and quality of work. This will be a long review, but its glowing! My 9yr old macbook pro has been struggling for a while now, but only recently decided it had had enough. In a last ditch effort to save my files (as I foolishly hadn't backed it up anytime recently), I headed over to Apple, where they were unable to retrieve any information, as my hard drive had completely failed. Needless to say, it's a pretty scary feeling knowing all the documents you rely on are inaccessible, and there is no backup information. Apple advised me to look into their "recommended" 3rd party data retrieval company (incidentally located hours away from where I live). A quick phone call revealed they charge upwards of $2500-3500 for a hard drive recovery. Obviously, this was not a solution. As luck would have it, my sister recommended My Emergency Guy, which is local, and had excellent online reviews. Firstly, for anyone who needs data recovery, rest easy knowing this team will first EVALUATE your hard drive free of charge, to determine what steps need to be taken in order to start work. After this evaluation, they will also provide a cost estimate for the work, and you are under NO obligation to move forward. If you decide to proceed, you are only charged IF they are able to retrieve your data. I have to say, this was the most comforting piece of information. Sometimes things are beyond retrieval, but this company really gives you a sense of comfort that they're not there to take advantage of you! Secondly, I was incredibly impressed by their level of communication. They provide text AND email alerts, both of which are monitored frequently and are answered very quickly if you message them back! Phillip is thorough, provides detailed explanations and will walk you through any necessary questions you may have about your data recovery. Luckily, all of my data was retrieved successfully!! As unfortunate it was that I needed this service, I couldn't have asked for a better company to work with!! Was looking for a screen replacement for my note 8. Everywhere was ridiculous with the price. I work down the street from here so I called and was quoted the cheapest price. I was able to drop off my phone at lunch and pick it up during my break. Both front and back glass was cracked on my phone and they asked me if I wanted to replace both. I only had enough for the front but when I picked up my phone they replaced the back glass also no charge. I am very happy with my phone and now I know where to go if I have any phone issues. read more

Six or eight weeks ago the screen on my iPhone was getting less responsive. My only phone. Sometimes I couldn't quickly answer calls because the slide wouldn't respond. I stopped in to this shop and had a brief conversation about the problem and was quoted a reasonable price for a screen replacement which they thought would fix it. Took that under advisement. Ten days ago a second problem showed up -- phone went black at random times -- couldn't turn it on or off -- and only an incoming call would wake it up. Back to Emergency Guy. With no other phone I needed quick help. They replaced the screen, fixed all the problems, and at a price a few dollars less then before. And QUICKLY! So upset that I don't have any before/after pictures!!!!!!! I completely shattered the ENTIRE screen on my phone last night while I was running my dog. I've dropped my phone several times before, but never directly on the screen. I was so anxious and stressed out until I remembered coming here before to buy a new phone charger. I looked up a few different places including Apple, which charged anywhere from $200-300, and I knew to come straight here. Especially after reading all of the good reviews about this place. Needed a screen replacement for an iPhone6. They wouldn't match the quoted price from Applenberry in Oakland ($20 less). They only upside was their location. The new screen they put in was raised significantly from the phone body. Didn't sit anywhere close to flush. I asked about it on the spot and they offered to put my cracked screen back in. THat is not why I visited in the first place. I brought it into an Apple store the next day and was told this is not how the screen is supposed to sit. The cost and time to fix would be the same at an authorized Apple store! Next time I'll check an Apple store first, the price and service will be much better. read more

I woke up one day and my phone wouldn't load my mail so I turned it off and it wouldn't turn on past the apple logo. I spoke with apple customer service who told me to charge the phone, or attempt a hard reset. None of these things worked so I went to the "genius bar" at Apple. They attempted to update my phone however that one thing didn't work so they recommended a factory reset resulting in the loss of all my Europe photos. ***TL; DR : DO NOT GO TO THE APPLE STORE, DO NOT RESET TO FACTORY SETTINGS I yelped and found My Emergency Guy. Pourya checked my battery, my battery port and attempted to update my phone. None of these things worked so he did not charge for these services. He then kept my phone overnight and the following day he emailed and told me my phone was fixed. WHAT?!?!?! YES. Fairy dust. All photos in tact. Apparently the iPhone software was corrupted and this just happens to Iphone6s. This seems silly. ***TL; DR : GO TO THIS GUY. FREE IF HE CAN'T FIX IT, REASONABLE PRICES IF HE CAN. read more

I took my iPhone 5 in for its broken screen after I dropped it on the floor, paid about $80 after tax when I picked it up, and everything seemed to be fine. Then I noticed that the front and back camera weren't working anymore. Apparently, the guy that replaced the screen had messed up the logic board in the process of replacing the screen. When I took it back to the store the next day for it to be fixed since they have the 90-day warranty on repairs, they couldn't fix it. Side note: the guy there asked me if there was any possibility that anyone I knew had ever opened up the phone without my knowledge to cause the camera to HAPPEN to stop functioning right after their repair (which is completely ridiculous) I was told that I would have to give them my phone for at least week to outsource the repair, and there was STILL a chance that they wouldn't be able to fix the camera. Breaking a major feature on my phone after taking $80 seemed like fair ground for me to get at least a partial refund, but I was told that they could give me my money back only if they put back the cracked screen, as if everything else would be in the same condition. Um...you still messed up my phone? I did end up getting the repair done after someone I knew kindly lent me a phone to use in the meantime, and the repair took about two weeks. I WANTED to be one of the 5-star reviewers. I really did. I did eventually get my iPhone back with a fixed screen (which is the reason for two stars instead of one), but My Emergency Guy gave me an $80 price tag that left me to deal with unnecessary hassle and inconvenience. read more

I went to this guy to fix my iPhone 4s power button because although the button worked, it was stuck and you had to press very hard to get it to work. I thought the price was very fair $35. First of, he does the fixes at his apartment. Might sound sketch, but it is not.... not too bad. But that's about all that's not too bad. So I gave him my phone to fix while waiting on a futon in the living room. 15 minutes later, he hands the phone back to me with an unsure look on his face. I press the power button and although now it pulsed up and down, IT STOPPED WORKING! So he basically broke the button's essential functionality. Gee, thanks! What's most messed up, is he then told me he can't work on it right now because he has to leave to go somewhere and tells me to come back at the same time tomorrow. So I did come back and he stood me up! I waited for 20 minutes and he never showed up. Very unprofessional. I would NOT recommend him to ANYONE! Go to Joe's iPhone Repair instead, he is professional, meets at the cafe on time, and does the job flawlessly. I'd rather pay more than get my phone broken by some tech-wannabe. read more

I cracked the screen on my iPhone 5s and didn't want to pay the absurd amount ($250) that apple charges for screen replacement. I decided to order a kit from iCracked and do the repair myself. Everything went well except when I turned the phone on with the new screen, there was a preexisting crack. I returned the screen to iCracked and decided to have My Emergency deal with installing a replacement. It took them under 20 min, cost only $35 more than the iCracked DIY kit (except their screen actually worked) and less than half of what apple would have charged. They even put a screen protector on the new screen, which was a nice touch. Painless, fast, and relatively cheap. Am considering breaking my phone again just to experience this place again. read more

My Nexus 5's battery was dying. It would drop from 100% to 80% in a matter of minutes and then shut off without warning. Also, the back panel was puffed out a little, just like how old salsa does when it goes bad. Have to update this to say again how helpful these guys are. Last fall, my iPhone 5c's screen went dead. This was after a trip to Disneyland with my then 2.5 year old daughter and a few hundred priceless photos...and no, I had not yet backed up my phone, nor was it connected to iCloud. The phone had password on it too, so I couldn't even back it up just by plugging it in. Apple told me they couldn't help me retrieve the contents of the phone, that they'd likely just replace the phone. These guys replaced the screen for me and I was able to get the photos off my phone! After that, I got an iPhone 6, and the screen has recently started acting up off and on...again. Couldn't wake the phone up from sleep mode. I brought it over to these guys, and I don't know why, but they were able to get the screen to wake up just by starting to charge it (and yeah, I had tried that myself already!). This allowed me to back up my phone and make sure I set it to back up photos to the cloud. They are always professional and quick to assist when I've walked in the door. read more

My Mac was running slow and I took it in to see if it needed a diagnostic or hard drive or whatever. I didn't know and I was willing to trust based on the Yelp reviews. They did not disappoint. The guy on duty spent about 15 minutes looking at my computer and asking me some questions and basically evaluated my problems (I shouldn't have upgraded to Yosemite, Chrome is faster than Firefox, etc). He could not have been more pleasant and helpful. So instead of dropping off my computer to get it checked out, I was in and out in 15 minutes at no charge. Instead of cash this time, they will get me as a cheerleader for their store and a devoted future customer when I do have a real issue. Nice work! read more

This guy is amazing - no other way to put it. At first I thought 13 reviews were a little sketchy, considering that I have to entrust my beloved iPhone to him and go to his apartment, but after emailing him a few times and checking out the other options, I decided to give him a try. My headphones broke while in my iPhone so the bottom part of the headphones was still stuck inside the phone. I asked for quotes from a ton of different repair places and they all said it would cost anywhere from $30 to $60 to fix. This store is completely magical. I've been struggling with no being able to make calls on my iphone6 for the past three days. Everything else works great, but can't make or receive calls. So it was really just a tiny iPad. This morning I finally tried the dreaded factory restore button, but was only able to accept phone calls and still can't call anyone. I walked into the store, was promptly greeted and had my phone looked at. I have no idea what pixie dust they have in the store, but when they tried calling to and from my phone, suddenly everything is working again! I finally got my phone repaired but it took very long time. One of my microphones was not working well on my I phone 7. They repaired it an I picked up my phone. Tested almost everything I could think of and no problems. Days later found charging port was faulty and didn't charge my phone properly. Notified them, and Dropped phone off. They tested it and then i picked up the phone. Days later same thing problem was happening again. Dropped phone off again. Weeks later and silence. I didn't hear anything, so I had to call them. They Said my phone was repaired and I can pick it up. I'm sure they get busy so I kinda ignored this. Didn't say exactly what was wrong. Nor did I care at this point. I just wanted my phone returned. They didn't charge me extra. They took a very long time to repair my phone over 6 weeks. Communication was poor. One last kicker was that the SIM card tray was missing when I picked it up. I was super annoyed by this as they stated my phone company gives these out if I ask them. I went to couple att places and both said that would be a apple product replacement. My HDMI to VGA adapter intermittently disconnected my second screen. I'd unplug it, reinsert it and it would work - and then not. I contacted My Emergency Guy and they responded immediately. They told me to test the connection on my laptop with the other HDMI cables in my home to troubleshoot the laptop, cable or second monitor. We ended fixing it ourselves by replacing a cable.
