Short story: Save your money and use it to tip the college kid working at Dunkin. You'll still spend less, your coffee will be better, and your artificial muffin will at least have some flavor. I am surprised to see so many positive reviews. I have been in three times. The first time I was assisted by the most pleasant woman who made my experience so enjoyable and welcomed me back. Despite the flavorless muffin and terrible coffee, I went back. The second time and third times I was helped by a middle aged woman with brown hair that was pulled back and she must have been having a bad day despite the early hour that it was. She was unpleasant, said "k" in response to my "thank you so much" and gave me a barely toasted bagel with hardly any cream cheese. I thought I would give the blueberry muffin another shot. It was no better with fake tasting blueberries and just a strange artificial taste. The brownie I got was flavorless and dry. I wish this place was closer, but then again, maybe it is for the best, low-carb diet and all. I was passing by one day and stopped in. I grabbed a few of their mini-muffins. I am not usually a muffin fan, but these were really good. The next weekend, I grabbed my wife and we headed back. I needed her opinion. She and I had a bagel and split a stuffed apple maple muffin. Simply over the top. The bagel was the best I had ever had and the muffin was amazing. So if you are near 37 and Post Road, do yourself a solid and stop by. I love this place, have been cominv almost every Sunday's for the last couple of months, I highly recommend it, sweet cozy environment, the staff gets to know you well very quickly and always kind and well mannered. The cofee is fresh and strong, the bagels and muffins always fresh. This place is so kid friendly that there are families that come here religiously, This is my permanent go to place for Sunday breakfast. Well worth the money. Meah. My order was an everything bagel toasted with cream cheese. And it was good enough. But no more than that. The bagels looked beautiful: big and round, a bit shiny and like it would have a delicious bite and chew. Alas, I got chewy (taffy chewy) and no bite or texture. It was deliciously seeded on the top. But the bottom had nothing, which meant to really experience the everything in all of its lack luster deliciousness it had to be eaten like a sandwich. I think I like Dunkin donuts better. I have no affinity for Dunkin donuts, and don't prefer that, either. Anyhow, I say this because the coffee here tastes like warm water, and the wash from my french press after a pot of coffee is more aromatic. The flavored coffee is artificially flavored. I'd rather get a dunkin donuts flavor shot (or better coffee, period). I thought this was a mom and pop -- unfortunately, it's a chain, which I hear is based in chicago. This is the only one in RI. I was curious about the muffins--about 59 cents for a mini one. I tried the banana milkshake muffin, which was a pretty much overdone name for a cakey banana muffin with a lot of sugar on it. Okay, but not homemade. Big tubs of labelled muffin mix behind the register. This makes me sad because I want a good coffee shop in Warwick. So far, nada. Message me if i'm wrong. This is another one of those cases where I wish I could rate the service and food separately. Perhaps a future enhancement to Yelp? Until then, MFM&B gets a downgrade. The service as a whole is okay. The folks are generally very nice, so of course I take that into consideration. What drives me crazy is there are a handful of regulars behind the counter, and depending on which one you get you will either get your order completely wrong, moderately wrong, or on par. The only reason for the downgrade is the self service coffee pumps. They do not appear as though they are monitored regularly, and more often than not I've had to let someone know that one or more of the coffees were empty. Now, having worked at a bagel store myself many years ago, we ALWAYS had a backup pot going just in case we couldn't get to a pump and a customer had a similar complaint. However, at My Favorite Muffin, they start to brew the coffee once someone notices. I generally don't feel like waiting the 10-15 minutes for them to brew an entire carafe's worth of coffee, especially if I'm on my way somewhere. There has got to be a process efficiency that can be identified to alleviate this issue. Same goes for the milk/cream options, which aside from not always being available, I have some concerns about the temperature at which they are kept. read more

Been driving by this place for years... So Happy I finally stopped to give it a try! I arrived after the morning rush.. the coffee was still fresh hot and delicious! With a nice variety of flavors. Variety and quality are what really set this place apart from the rest! I bought a sourdough bagel, cinnamon toast bagel, mini blueberry muffin, and a coffee and it was just over 5 dollars. Really fantastic value for what you get. Friendly service too! As luck would have it, my child's orthodontist is super close by, so they always beg to stop here. My son likes getting the apple pie muffin and my daughter enjoys the different flavors of mini muffins. The coffee is usually good although sometimes later in the day it could be changed up. The staff always are nice to us except they do try to upsell. If I want 3 muffins let me buy 3 muffins. Don't try telling me it's a better deal to buy 4. The catch, for me, is that they're essentially cake. (Some of them are even FROSTED.) If you like that style of muffins - loaded down with chocolate and pie filling and cheesecake bits - then you will love My Favorite Muffin. If you'd rather not have your sugar requirements for the next three days met by one muffin, you might want to skip them. That said, if you treat the muffins as mini cakes or cupcakes, they're quite good! One of the staff suggested taking them home and serving them warm with ice cream, and I'll definitely be trying that. The bagels were an excellent alternative, though, if you want more breakfasty breakfast food. They have a perfect sourdough bagel, nice and tangy. The staff was really nice, very friendly. Bagels are a bit different- but I LOVE them. I would describe them as having a crispy chewy exterior and light fluffy interior. They have lots of choices of cream cheese flavors and they are all delicious. I like that coffee is self serve and it's pretty decent coffee. There's usually at least 3 or 4 flavor choices. I have been coming here for awhile and I love the spinach bagel. The place is busy in the mornings, and service is usually decent. Today could have been a fluke, but it seems things have been going downhill with every visit. They were out of spinach (fine, it was after 2 so not a big deal) so I tried a different bagel. My boyfriend ordered a lightly toasted bagel with butter. We got our food and coffees and left. His bagel was not even toasted, it was burnt! I had asked for tomato on mine which was missing, and the coffee was expectedly awful (I usually get coffee elsewhere but we were in a rush). A note on the tomato- even when they include it, it needs seasoning. I feel like a jerk asking for a pinch of salt so I usually suffer through a bland slice of tomato, but really guys, a little salt will make it shine! I will likely be back to give them another shot, but at least now my expectations are lowered. Can't say enough about how great this place is! Their bagels are awesome, my favorite is the Western Bagel Sandwich. Closest thing I've found in the area to a NY bagel. But the best part is the tiny muffins! They are about 1/5 the size a regular muffin and come in all kinds of flavors. My favorites are banana chocolate and chocolate cheese cake. I've been there several times on weekday mornings. I've never had a muffin but their bagels are crazy good, and the cream cheese selection is awesome. Highly recommend the hickory cheddar blend with the spinach bagel. YUM. My only ding (reason for 3 stars) is that while the food is great, the girls behind the counter in the morning are about as friendly as boa constrictors - every time I've been there they are like that. Extremely slow service for a Sunday morning, at least the Sunday I went. Not sure if they were short staffed or what but the line was out of the door with only two girls working. I still wanted to wait and give it a shot. Finally after about 25 minutes in line I was able to order. I ordered a breakfast sandwich, coffee, and a muffin for my boyfriend then a bagel with cream cheese for me. After ordering I moved down a little to wait to pay, while other people were moving down too after they ordered. It was hectic as some other orders came out before mine so they had to get in front of me to pay and I got pushed to the side. Very dysfunctional... I waited about 10 minutes finally another girl asked me if I'm all set I explained I ordered with the other girl and I think she's making my sandwiches, but then this girl made my coffee and got me the muffin. The coffee was handed to me in a cup with no lid I was expected to put the cream, sugar, lid and straw in it over at another area which would normally be fine but this area had hardly any room, no trash can for the trash, and I was holding my bagel bag. Then I went back up to the counter to get the breakfast sandwich and the lady who I ordered with and who made them forgot she didn't charge me yet, so I had to get back in line to pay. Finally after all that I got in my car to find out my boyfriends breakfast sandwich had eggs that were microwaved, the muffin was OK at best, and the only decent thing was the coffee but I made that.... My bagel was fine but it's hard to mess that up. I didn't have a good experience from the second I walked through the door, but maybe some of the other food is ok and maybe it's less busy other days. I wouldn't recommend anything with eggs seeing that they are microwaved. I'll probably stay away from this place I personally like fresh items, and good, friendly, fast service. I have gone to MFM&B for years and this place is consistently great for bagels and muffins (tho as someone else wrote the muffins are closer to cupcakes - but still excellent). The coffee is also high quality with a variety of changing flavors. I have never tried the sandwiches or anything more detailed for the following reason - The friendliness of the service runs hot and cold there. Sometimes they are incredibly nice and friendly - other times surly. You definitely don't want to complain or be particular about your needs. That is why I tend to stick with something already made that they can throw in a bag and hand me a cup for my coffee. If they are out of the coffee I want I just choose another flavor. But ultimately the bagels untoasted, and the muffins as is, are worth it. read more

Many varieties of bagels, cream cheese, and muffins (some healthy choices but I tend to opt for the banana milkshake and the other muffins that are the guilty pleasure type). Love their breakfast sandwiches. I don't do lunch here often but everything looks great. The owner is the absolute sweetest! She always asks how I am and knows I like a home made biscuit for my dog (yes they sell these too!) This place is full of regulars and often sees a few first timers. If you've never been before, tell the owner! She'd happily let you taste test a mini muffin (or in my BF's case...3...oops). Coffee is fantastic--take it from a coffee junkie like me. They have their own caffeinated version of a coolatta..I forget what it's called but it's so so so good. Their chai is fantastic..I like the hot a little better than the cold. I stopped by here for the first time on the way to my sister's house and was pretty impressed with the selection and quality of the goods. Muffins, sandwiches and salads are all on display as you enter. The prices were spot on, clean environment and friendly staff made it a decent experience. I don't think the food stood out as anything special over other cafes, but you'd be better served here than a Dunkin Donuts for sure. It's a sure fire quality spot for a coffee and pastry. read more

I gave MFMB 3 stars for my overall experience. 4 stars for just the bagels and service. Went here 3 days in a row over this past weekend, was in RI for a hockey trny. Service was fantastic , there bagels were very good, bagel sandwiches really good. But the muffins were so dry, we bought a dozen mini and 3 full size muffin and they were all dry and crumbly. It's been over 6 months and 40 orders later so an update was definitely overdue. I have had my ups and downs with this company but over the last few weeks, Terri (Chief Baker) has turned my experience from an almost completely unsatisfied customer to a happy cheerleader referral customer. When I call in, I ask directly for her and only need to tell her my name and my order is done to perfection. Unfortunately, if Terri doesn't make my order, there is always a problem. This place gets a B- for effort but I'll have to rely on another business who ensures everyone knows how to make the proper order and how to provide CUSTOMER SERVICE. Terri, thank you for always taking care of my order personally; you give my mornings a great jump start but please have your staff wear hair nets. Hair in sandwiches is NEVER a fun way to start your morning (having hair tied back is not the same as protecting your hair as hair DOES shed and break off normally). Update as of 01/12/2013 @ 5:50pm: I'm deeply concerned at the way you have decided to handle this customer review. It is embarrassing that I had to receive a phone call from my boss at 5:00pm on a Saturday to let me know that you have continued to call my place of employment for a PERSONAL matter. The girl waiting on us was very nice and very patient with us. It was our first time visiting so we took longer than we should. We tried a couple of different bagel sandwiches and they were good...though my husbands was a little burned. The muffins were just OK to me. I think you should stick with the bagels. read more
