I'm revising my prior 5 star review of My Georgia Plumber following a disappointing interaction with Jessica Stevens, the service manager there. We have been My Georgia Plumber annual members for the past decade or so. We have a larger house with five hot water tanks, 8 bathrooms, 4 half baths and 3 kitchen sinks. My Georgia Plumber has done a lot of work for us, but they have always had issues with Waterworks parts. I told them this was an issue, as most of our hardware is Waterworks. They replaced a cartridge in the sink ($511) and that took about a month to get the part and them back out, so not the fastest option, but Clay did a good job finding the part, and the plumbers got it put in. My issue is that after paying 50% up front, and 50% on installation, I received a $22 charge for something else. I called to inquire and they advised me that they charge 4% to use a credit card. This was not disclosed on the estimate nor did the plumber tell me this. It was added to the amount they charged me, until the next day, so I had no notification. I've now been back and forth with Jessica the manager, who offered to let me write a check and mail it to them and then they'd refund the $22. The issue is that they should just refund me the $22 because it wasn't disclosed. They are putting me out to make me write a check and mail it. I've done a LOT of business with them. They have decided that the $22 is worth more than a client, even a client who has spent a lot of business and has the strong probability of spending a lot more. I'm not sure what their customer acquisition cost, but they've burnt a bridge with me in this. Moreover, they are claiming that they must make the surcharge to be compliant with GA law, but GA law requires they disclose the surcharge, which they did not do. Scam artists! DO NOT USE! They tell you that their truck arrives "fully stocked and able to tackle any job", which seems great, considering they charge you $150 fee just to come to your house, which gets reduced down to about $90 if they do the job that day. I spoke to them a day in advance about the job to be done, and they said no problem. Well, they came to my house, and said no, we can't actually do this job today because it will take a long time and no we don't come stocked with supplies (having natural gas piped to an outdoor grill). Then they tried to charge me the full $150 service fee "so we don't arrive back at the office with nothing", even though it was there fault they couldn't do the job that day. I talked them down to the reduced fee. I asked if there was a credit card fee, they said no, so I paid with my credit card rather than a check. A week later, I got a text from them saying they "had a system glitch and forgot to charge a credit card fee " and that they had recharged my card for that fee- completely without my consent! I let them know it was illegal for them to charge my card like that without my consent. See their insane response below. We have had one bad experience back in November 2023 with a service technician, but the company itself has always stayed on our radar, and we've kept with their customer care plan through the years because of good experiences. Our most recent experience was with Santos has lasted two separate days but has been handled expertly and patiently. We've had some air bubbles come up from our toilet, and they diagnosed the problem and offered several solutions. We have learned the whole "ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" thing with home ownership, so we asked for a LOT of different quotes for various scenarios, and he was never short with us and was happy not only to explain things but to show us so that we could better understand and potentially help ourselves figure things out in the future. That kind of service is above and beyond, so you might even want to request him by name! read more

If you like paying twice to three times as much to get that job done as another plumber, you'll love My Georgia Plumber! Just a basic faucet replacement, I bought the faucet myself and already paid them $150 to come out and diagnose. Honestly my fault because it was set up while I was out of town visiting a sick family member. They come out and put in the replacement and tell me that after they installed the faucet, which took about 20 minutes, that is was $350. Me thinking that is insane went to check to see what the price should be around on average. Pretty much came out to $150 on the high end and $100 on the low end for a basic installation, up to $325 for a complex installation, of which this was not. I got hosed. This is my fault, but you don't have to make the same mistake I did. Shop around, I usually do, but this wasn't an opportune time. read more

Katrina is the WORST manager I've talked to. It's not about the water heater now. It's about she's not empathetic about anything happening to the customer/new member. She just doesn't care. She cancelled my membership without notifying me even after I told her that I'm not cancelling it. Her communication style is very ego-centric, selfish, and head strong. She does feel anything wrong with me needing to bear with a defect water heater for years after I made 3 payments to them. She wouldn't allow the tech making 2nd trip to install the unit and leave a few days for us to clear the water damage and build a new base to put the water heater on after my old unit leaked and damage it. I have my water heater replaced with them through American Home Shield. They jacked up the overall cost by charging several parts even though they're essential to install the new water heater, saying they're not covered by my AHS plan. They installed a damaged water heater that the body of the tank was smashed. They said it shipped to them this way by AHS. But it's a totally different model than what AHS gave me beforehand. They want me to go to AHS or manufacturer's warranty if I want but they're not responsible for it. They pushed the deadline to finish the service by end of the month per their schedule regardless I need time to clean up the water leak and the rotten base. They didn't tell me that the water heater was an obviously damaged one till we found out after it's installed. They could have asked for a new replacement from AHS but they didn't. They could have warned us beforehand but they didn't. They could have helped to get us a replacement afterwArds but they refused. I called MyGeorgiaPlumber to take care of a leak coming from my shower into the basement. The quote came out to over $1,500 to replace the P-Trap and shower drain. The Tech "CJ" told me it was so much because he needed another technician to push down on the drain when it was being assembled but they would be done inside of 2 hours. I guess I am not qualified to push on the drain.... The access wasn't an issue - they could get to it through the drop ceiling in the finished basement and only needed a 6 foot ladder. Also a $500 faucet replacement. The replacement part again is $45. I stopped this company from continuing work... I called the office to speak to the owner/manager. Nope... they sent the scheduler to talk to me saying that the manager was too busy on the other line. I doubt it. They are issuing a refund for the money I paid. No one wants to talk about it. Message received. It is clear, by the technician's comments, that they are gouging customers because of the amount of frozen pipe bursts over the last few days. I looked up the parts from home depot, the whole repair would be under $50 for the leak repair and $50 for the faucet. Even if I tell them to charge me 500% for the parts, it still makes the labor over $1400. They want to charge $150 for the service call with the line item stating on the quote - " Getting a technician and a stocked service vehicle to your home is the best way possible to resolve your issues on the first visit. Yeah... no. If you can't contractually meet the comment on your quote, don't BS and charge it. They didn't have any parts and they scheduled the repair for the next week." Do not call these opportunistic underhanded plumbers. Find an independent handyman to do it. Even if the handyman does it wrong 4 or 5 times... you still save over 50% of what these reputable and "trusted" service providers would do. You can trust them... to overcharge. I would give zero stars if possible. I have also submitted a complaint to BBB and informed my home warranty company to drop this vendor due to what happened below. Use them with caution. I have a home warranty service and had a leaky kitchen faucet. My Georgia Plumber came, told me I needed a new faucet and to contact Delta as I have a lifetime warranty. I did and after speaking with Delta technicians for about 3 hours was finally able to get a new faucet. As an aside: Delta faucet disagreed that a new faucet was needed as My GA Plumber recommended and explained this to me, regardless they sent a new one. When trying to schedule a return trip to finish the job My Georgia Plumber tried to invoice me $113.00 for a new generic faucet. My warranty company and I informed them that I procured one on their recommendation. They then tried to charge me $85 for a return trip. My warranty company and I told them that this is not part of the policy, it's all covered under one claim. I was then told to just schedule the job from my warranty company. After multiple weeks of leaving voicemails with the company and the owner Katrina D'Errico I received no response. I filed a new claim hoping that another ethical vendor would finish the job, unfortunately My Georgia Plumber got the job again. When I got on the phone with them to resolve the issue they hung up on me and will not take any phone calls from me. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. Charging over $800 to replace a wax ring on a toilet is highway robbery. It's a 20 minute job that requires a $5 part. Have a look at the estimate I've included in this review. There's one line item (T122034) for "PULL AND RESET FLOOR MOUNT; RECONNECT EXISTING FLUSH VALVE AND SUPPLY NEW WAX RING" for $460.33 And then another line item (T826899) for "RESET EXISING TOILET W /WAX RING & REUSE BOLTS" [sic] for $279.54 What the heck? I asked the tech why there were two line items for the same thing and didn't get a satisfactory answer. I think they were trying to pull a fast one, but I'm a little smarter than they thought. I know how a toilet works! The nice little plumbing company I used to use was acquired by My Georgia Plumber several years ago. I continued to use them a few times, but never again! My Georgia Plumber sent me a technician to replace my garbage disposal machine. He told me that American Home Shield, my appliance warranty company, would only authorize a replacement with a smaller machine. I believed him, so I had no choice but to pay for a replacement with the same machine I had. I could not settle for a smaller machine. After I called American Home Shield, I was told that the technician was not supposed to charge me about $200 for the replacement as they authorized the same size machine for the replacement. I called the technician and expressed that I did not appreciate his dishonesty and his scare tactics. I am currently working with American Home Warranty to see if they can compel him to issue me a refund. I do not recommend this company for playing games and being dishonest. read more

My Georgia Plumber was called by the home warranty service I have. First of all, MGP was very responsive, My issue was not an emergency, so when the tech was going to be late to the appointment I made, I called the office to reschedule. First, I get it that techs get delayed because they never know what they will find when they get to a job. Second, the office person was so pleasant and contacted her dispatcher to see if I could get an early appt, and I got one the very next morning. When the techs came out, CJ and Gavin, they were so pleasant and professional. CJ answered all my questions, and I was very confident in his diagnosis; fortunately, I don't need any work done. So no upsell, or pressure to buy anything else. I like that. This is the 2nd time MGP came out for a faulty toilet flapper, and I was not charged anything beyond the warranty service fee, and those techs completely fixed the flapper. It didn't need replacing. Switched all my rentals to you a few years ago. I have never been so disgusted with the service and the calls and it is NOT American Home Shields fault. Called in a hot water tank and leak under kitchen sink. Ordered the part for the Hot water tank it has been more than 5 days and no update! No hot water for 5 days. They said for the leak which I called in I have to call another service request, which I did for the leak their earlier technician said was the garbage disposal. They said the garbage disposal was neglected. Granted it is 31 years old the original but not neglected so chris the young tech denied it! By the way Chris did not know what switch was for the garbage disposal or the light and asked me which one was the hot water line!? TERRIBLE TECH!! Then he said the nozzle sprayer has a leak and I have to call another service request in. It used to be a great company and I guess if you get a good tech it's okay but call back time and trying to get more and more calls as they do NOT like working for the Home warranty companies and will try and deny anything. Arrived to our property to repair a section of of the main line. The equipment they brought to dig the trench would not start. The employees proceeded to spend 1.5 hours yelling and swearing at one another working on the equipment in front of our home, leaving a huge oil/gas stain in front of our house that they refuse to clean. Office staff is nasty when answering the phone, and we had to call to request any type of invoice or receipt for the work that was completed. We were recommended this company by our home warranty, but I would not recommend them or have them complete any work on our home in the future. read more

I will NEVER recommend this company and I'm sad 1 star is the lowest I can go. I have been trying to get my refund for over 6 months now and everyone has no clue how to resolve my issue. In October 2023, I filed a claim with my home warranty company. They connected me with My Georgia Plumber, who called and requested their $75 service fee upfront. I paid it. I realized within hours that I no longer needed the appointment. I called My Georgia Plumber and requested a refund for my $75. I was told by Sophia at My Georgia Plumber that I would need to call Choice Warranty to request my refund. I spoke to Mikey at Choice Warranty and he confirmed that My Georgia Plumber was responsible for refunding my service fee. I called My Georgia Plumber back and spoke to Kristine who advised she would try to reverse the payment and to allow 7 business days. I never received that refund. I called My Georgia Plumber back and advised I never received the refund and as told they put in a request for the refund and to allow 30 days for it to process. I never received that refund. On 11/16/2023, I called My Georgia Plumber and was told it would be best to file a dispute with my bank. I did on the same day. It was denied because the initial transaction was authorized. I called My Georgia Plumber back and was told Jessica, the supervisor, would call me back. I never received that call. On 2/9/2024, I called My Georgia Plumber and left a voicemail for Lauren Alderson to call me back. I received no call back. Called My Georgia Plumber and finally spoke to Jessica who said she would look into it and call me back. I missed her return call & when I tried calling her back, she didn't answer and now won't call me back. On 5/7/2024, I called My Georgia Plumber and spoke to Kristine. I requested she connect me with the owner, Katrina D'Errico. She said Ms. D'Errico said she saw my file and would look through it and give me a call back on the same day. I never received that call. On 5/13/2024, I called My Georgia Plumber and spoke to Kristine and advised that I have yet to hear back from the owner, Katrina D'Errico. She said she showed the task was still assigned to her, so she feels confident the owner will still look into it and call me back. She also suggested I call Choice Home Warranty and request the 'accounting' department and file a claim to have my 'Trade Fee' returned to me. I called my home warranty company, and they, again, were baffled that this company would think they would refund my service fee when THEY collected it. This company is a total fraud! The positive reviews must be paid. I have had multiple experiences with this company through the warranty company. All negative reviews have a pattern. They seem to have some "internal deal" with warranty companies to reject the claims. They will not fix the issue, instead they hand you the bill of $1000 for $100 work. My experience was very unfortunate. I was not getting any hot water at all. Suspected my hot water heater. Called for an appt and the person came out, looked at my hot water heater for a few seconds and said it needed to be replaced. I thought, ok, must be pretty apparent. Replaced and he left. I questioned when I would get hot water back and he said it would be a bit for the hot water heater to fill up. Next day, still no hot water. I called and they were going to send someone else out... who came and could not determine what was wrong but knew it was something electrical. Then had an electrician come out who flipped a switch and we were good to go. I feel the inexperience and lack of knowledge of the first technician caused me to purchase an unnecessary new hot water heater. In addition, when they were there, they convinced me that my water pressure needed all this work and even got me to pay a percentage up front for the work they were going to do. Now not really trusting their guidance, I tried to see if I could figure it out myself... guess what, it just needed a new faucet! $30 online for a new faucet... they were going to charge HUNDREDS ($300 which they required me to pay up front). I spoke to a manager who didn't have much to say in regards to the situation. I did get my $300 back, but I would say the expertise they tout is not actually there. We experienced an emergency water main break and needed help very quickly at our home. They arrived to diagnose my problem within a reasonable time. It was a major water main leak and the decision was made to replace the water line from the street to my house, about 75 feet. Several days later they arrived to make the repair with 3/4 inch replacement water line smaller than the original. The crew arrived about 9:00 AM and was finished before lunch time. The cost, including the diagnostic visit was $6,496.51, about $3,000.00 per hour. Not too bad for approximately 2 hours of on site work. I have made 4 attempts to contact management to discuss this excessive charge. It has been a month since my last attempt. Promises were made to have someone call, but they have chosen to ignore my request for a simple conversation to discuss the charges for this repair. I'm sorry to say I can no longer recommend this company. read more

When I finally reached a real person to schedule an appointment My Georgia Plumber required a credit card before they could schedule. After I gave them my card # they told me that it may be hours before they could give me a definite time. When My Georgia Plumber arrived without notice they found that I had someone else working on my leaks. They still hit my credit card for $159. I will stay away from this service provider. The most unprofessional service providers I have ever been forced to work for me. Forced because my Home Warranty service chose MGP to replace my Water Heater in November 2023. My Georgia Plumber several times added additional charges and delayed the installation of my water heater for about 1 month during winter. \With no warm water in winter, I had to pay total deductibles much more than if I had not used my Home Warranty. My Georgia Plumber had stored my credit card information without my consent, and recently they charged my credit card because the Home Warranty had not paid to this plumber a final amount. Their recent emails ask me to file a Performance Bond Claim complain against my Home Warranty to get my money back. Also they threaten me to put a lien on my house if I decline their recent unauthorized credit card charge for a service even though I had paid all my dues 7 months ago. Working with My Georgia Plumber was painful, several surprising demands for unanticipated new fees, long delays and at end much expensive compared to other plumbers I have worked with. I received the renewal in the mail April 20, 2023 with a due date of June 1, 2023 and within a few days of receiving the renewal, they charged my credit card. I called to cancel the membership on April 25th and was told it would be 7-10 business days to receive the credit. After the 10th day, no credit. I called and was told it would be 30 days and I was given incorrect information. I asked if it was 30 regular days or 30 business days. The representative did not know the answer. I contacted my bank to dispute the charges. This is bad business practice for any company. If you use My GA Plumber, do not sign up for the membership. read more

They were sent to my home by HSA warranty for a busted water heater flooding my basement. Their plumber was so busy blinking $$ signs while telling me about all the "code updated" work he'd have to do for the fix, he never inspected anything nor stop the water leak on the shut off valve I pointed out to him. They solicited the work for a higher price outside the warranty and sent two different estimates and items list to me and HSA. If I paid them with a cash out they would charge me $3,400 for the work. I called my home inspector who said the code work they claimed they had to do was unnecessary and I was being ripped off. I demanded a free second opinion from HSA and they sent another plumber out who agreed with my home inspector. HSA won't let you use the second contractor unless you cash out so I did. The second plumber charged me $1,405. TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS LESS. Buyer beware with this company. And check out the other negative reviews stating similar stories. read more

Absolutely useless. Called them to service my tankless water heater. Error code suggested blocked air intake or exhaust outflow. Guy looked in exhaust, said looks clean and left. The problem persisted. After researching. I ended up having to remove the air intake fan which had dead bugs and cleaning it. A water heater technician should know this. I was referred this company threw my home warranty company. I paid them my $100.00 and the warranty company pays the rest. 6 months later I get a email telling me that Choice Warranty which is supposed to be the best did not pay them. I contacted the warranty company and explain what they said. They told me to give them there number so they could call them to rectify the problem. They would not. Instead they withdrew the money out of my account. I find it shady that 6 months go by and you claim you didn't get paid but when they was given a chance to get there money from the company they didn't do it. I had a leaky faucet which they did a temporary fix and said I needed a new cartridge but that it was 100% covered by my Home Warranty company. When they came back to do the repair, they charged me $85 even though they told me it was covered by my Home Warranty And now my kitchen faucet is leaking again. I called to have a plumber come out and install the gas vent on the hot water heater they had previously installed and failed to connect.I also ask for an estimate on the installation of a new toilet in my bathroom.He connected the gas vent and then gave me an estimate of 1100.00 to install the new toilet.I said Ok.lets do it.He then gave me a bill for 149.00 for a service call and said they would be back later to install the toilet.I said forget it.I thought the service call to correct something they had previously screwed up was excessive.I contacted anouther plumber and had the new toilet installed for 400.00.These people are total rip-offs......I can not understand how they are still in business.... read more

Last year we had an insurance claim which required us to get our own plumber on an expedited basis. My Georgia plumber timely came out and did a relatively minor project for us. They wouldn't take a credit card, so we paid with a debit card. At the end of the service call, they suggested an annual monitoring program that they had. We declined. I am glad now that we did not take the time to give them the 5 star review that they earned for that service call. This year we were sent a statement indicating that they were going to bill us for their an "Original Home Club care renewal". We contacted them several times telling them that we were never knowingly enrolled in such a program and that we definitely had no interest in any continuing enrollment. The receptionist refused to confirm our cancellation, stating that she would have to 'check' with someone first. After our second call we received an email indicating that they were still going to bill us, thereby 'forcing' their service program on us. We again called, told them that our credit card had changed (forgetting that we had used a debit card) and again asked them not to bill us for a service that we did not want. The next morning, the debit hit our bank account. It took us a week and several calls to get the money provisionally credited back to us. Buyer beware of giving them your financial information; because they WILL bill you for this annual service that you don't want or need. Even if you repeatedly tell them not to. read more

I asked them for a service visit in August 2022. They came out, said I needed a new water line outside (which I did) and quoted me over $6000. I called two other plumbers and both were about $3000. But that is not the end. A year later they charge me $149 randomly saying I joined their membership program. I asked for proof, of course there is none. They nicely agree to refund in 7-10 days. No refund in 12 days. I call back, they say it could be 30. I said that is not acceptable, 30 days for your shady practices is unacceptable. Now accounting does not pick up, I am not allowed to speak with the office manager, and the operator says she has at least one of these same calls every day. So I am disputing the charge with my bank, and would never do business with a shady company like this. Running around a customer over $149 that you took without authorization isn't worth the bad reviews. Not to mention the quote was over double what I paid for my repair. Do better. read more

Trevor came out nice guy but couldn't find my sewage clean out which caused my home warranty claim to be denied by American Home Shield. I called Pipe Medic same day they came out found my sewage clean out and had everything working in less than 30 minutes. I just spoke to Katrina, service manager, at My Georgia Plumber. She was argumentative, rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. Funny thing is, I asked to speak to her boss before beginning this second conversation with her. I did not want to speak to her after she blatantly lied to me and told me the complete opposite of what the technician told me on April 18th. She dismissed the conversation after arguing with me about my service requests, instead of calling the service manager and the technician that was familiar with my property. Through the frustration of our conversation, she used me stating my consideration of filing suit to AHS as a reason to end the conversation and instruct her staff to no longer speak with me, because of a mistake My Georgia Plumber made. She stated they did not make mistake, although the technician apologized to me after admitting what he didn't catch on April 18th. She said, " Since you're filing a lawsuit against my client American Home Shied, I can no longer speak to you. I responded, " I said that is the direction I am considering as you are not assisting in providing a solution, which is what I told the service manager was doing last week." She proceeded by stating that I did state I was filing a law suit, so that ends the conversation. She dismissed my opposing statement and ended the conversation by being ingenious and with a mockery of customer service. I requested to schedule a meeting with the service manager, the technician, but she did not want to move forward with that. She instead asked me, "what do you want out of this?" I don't typically write reviews, but this was necessary. As someone who servers the Cherokee County community and is a part of the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce, I will ensure to share the unprofessional conduct of My Georgia Plumber is known within the community. I would also like to state that my technician, Preston, was upstanding and provided good customer service despite his back office team. It is NOT American Home Shield fault. Biggest ripoff ever! I needed an emergency service call for a clogged toilet and they charged me $275 for that. Then the guys came in, literally spent 5 minutes (maybe less) plunging it and then it flushed (this was after I tried plunging several times earlier that day). They charged me an additional $226 for that!!! They didn't even need to use the snake! How ridiculous! My regular plumber is Alliance Plumbing and unfortunately they were not available this evening, or I would have had them do it. Never again! read more

This company is a nightmare , Do NOT use them if you can avoid it and do NOT allow them to demand you pay their outrageous rates!!!! The fill valve they originally installed was damaged and they charged me $330 to install it .... after waiting a few days for the technician to return , I called a reputable plumber to fix their total mess.
