As someone who moved to Arizona from Connecticut last year, I've been on a serious hunt for Northeast-style Chinese takeout -- the kind you get near New York. I've tried so many places across the East Valley and kept leaving disappointed. I cannot believe the spot I've been looking for was less than a mile from my house the whole time. This is the real deal. The fried chicken had that classic orange tint and was fried hard and crispy -- exactly how it's done back home. The boneless BBQ pork spare ribs were perfectly charred and flavorful. The pork fried rice actually tasted right (if you're from the Northeast, you know what I mean). The egg rolls were crispy and bubbly, not soggy. The egg foo young came with that savory brown gravy that makes the dish. Crab rangoons were on point, and even the wonton egg drop soup hit the mark. And let's talk about the combo platters -- full plates like we're used to. Not the à la carte situation I keep seeing out here. The pricing felt just like back in CT, which was such a pleasant surprise. The restaurant itself was clean and well kept. Service was excellent -- friendly and efficient. The host was especially kind. When I told him I had been searching all over the East Valley for this style of Chinese food, he just smiled and nodded like he knew exactly what I meant. That alone made me feel understood. The only thing missing? Sweet tea or Kool-Aid and those little pineapple chunks in a plastic container -- then I really would've felt like I was back in the Northeast. Arizona has truly become home for us for so many reasons, but being able to find the foods we grew up loving -- while also enjoying all the new options here -- makes it even better. If you're from the Northeast and have been searching for that authentic takeout flavor, this is your spot.

Great find here on Yelp. The counter service was smooth and helpful, which made ordering easy. I had the chow mein with chicken and shrimp, and it was a big plate for lunch -- definitely something you could share. The noodles were good, the shrimp was cooked well, and everything had solid flavor. And the fountain Coke was perfect -- always a bonus when you find a place that gets that right.

I live a few blocks away from My House and it's a great place for quick higher quality Chinese food. The food is almost always ready in under 10 minutes and they pack everything to go in a nice large carriable bag. The interior is very clean but only has a few tables for dining in. The few times I've dined in I didn't really like the larger chairs as they sat low and didn't quite fit the tables for a taller person. The food is usually quite good and plentiful. The lunch specials come with an entree, soup/side and pork fried rice. The one minor complaint I have is some pieces of chicken are very large and could be cut up into more pieces to make it crispier and easier to eat. Overall, it's one place I come back to every few months for a good consistent meal. Definitely worth a visit if you've never tried it.

I ordered my food through DoorDash since I was sick and I couldn't believe what I saw in my food. I noticed a rotten egg in my egg drop soup and a bug in my rice. I felt so grossed eating this food afterwards.

I had great service from the young man at the counter. I wanted to have my mu shu pork dine in, and take veg tofu home. He waited on tofu order so it would go home hot and delicious. My mu shu was great and against portion . Love this place!

This is my go to place for Chinese takeout. Good portions and good prices. It is also prepared quick and ready when you arrive.

This is hands down the BEST New York style Chinese food in Arizona. The egg rolls are crispy on the outside with crunchy cabbage inside . Sweet and sour chicken is spot on delicious. Lo Mein is super good with lots of flavor. I highly recommend this place if you are from the East coast and are searching for delicious food.

Quality of chicken has gone downhill in a recent visit, but ths egg roll was crunchy and very good as well. Chef needs to wear chef clothes.

The best place man. I love this place so much. Get the beef sticks as an appetizer. Literally every option is good, the chefs are killer

The legendary…read moreAnthony Bourdain, who had a disdain for chain restaurants, said Jollibee was the exception. This Filipino fried chicken fast food joint has definitely earned my affection too. I visited their only location in the Phoenix metropolitan area for dinner on a weekday. Located in Chandler, parking won't be tough in the large complimentary lot surrounding the restaurant. Ambiance (3.5/5): I mean it's a fast food joint so you don't really go there for ambiance. It's similar in this way to other fast food restaurants we've all been to. When it comes to a fast casual restaurant, I mostly care about cleanliness. This is done at a high level there. I snagged a booth that was a bit dirty. A worker cleaned off my table without me asking soon after I started hovering around the table. Well done. Service (4.5/5): You can either place your order at the counter if you're paying cash or use your card at one of the self-service kiosks. I used the latter option. What's nice about it is that it's easy to customize your order. The kiosk was easy to use and I got my food within a reasonable amount of time (even with the restaurant close to capacity while we were there). Drinks (4/5): At fast food joints, you're expecting your typical soft drinks. Jollibee has that, but they also offer more. Which is a nice touch. I had a pineapple refresher. Pineapple is my favorite fruit so I couldn't say no. While a bit pricey, it was good. Food (4.5/5): Now, for the good stuff. Jollibee is known for a couple of things. First and foremost, their fried chicken. I've had my fair share and the chicken here is quality. When you think of fried chicken, you want a flavorful crispy exterior with a juicy interior. Mission accomplished. The crispiness is at a high level. We shared a six piece chicken joy bucket so you get all the different parts e.g. drumstick, breast, etc. and they all delivered. Another thing Jollibee is know for is their spaghetti. Yep, you read that right. Spaghet' at a fast food restaurant. And this isn't your mom's spaghetti. Instead of marinara sauce, as is popular in The Philippines, they use banana ketchup. Throw in some cheese and some sausage and there's your side dish. It's going to shock you at first as it's sweeter than what you're used to but it's pretty good. A better side than rice (even the adobo rice) or fries in my opinion. O and I forgot to mention, you're given gravy with your fried chicken. Dunk that thing in there. It makes it even better. You're probably already full by reading this but finish things off with a peach mango pie. They look like McDonald's apple pies but they are significantly better. Trust me. While the menu has a lot more than what I just covered, these are the dishes Jollibee is known for. It's a good starting point, especially if it's your first time. Pretty much anything Anthony Bourdain said was accurate. His thoughts on Jollibee included.

Love their crispy, juicy chicken. It's truly the only thing we typically get because we are not fans of the spaghetti, their slaw isn't to our liking and we don't do gravy, although it does come with the chicken. Used the drive thru this time around and we had to wait for a few minutes while the chicken finished cooking; asked us to pull up front while we waited. Good fried chicken!

The kids meal included milk, lemonade, juice or a soft drink. The meal would have normally costs $6.99. The adult meal (3 finger combo is $10.39 and if you forgo the drink it's $0.80 less. When comparing the two meals, for $4.60 you're only getting one more chicken piece and a piece of toast. The fries amount looked the same in both the 3 piece finger and kids meal. My kiddos chicken pieces even looked larger, so the difference isn't huge. The chicken flavor was good but the Bare Chicken or Kirkland chicken at Costco is just as good if not very similar taste. One thing to note is that the nachos are potato chips and not tortilla chips so it might not be something you prefer. The toppings were plenty and tasty. The guys ate it so fast while we were chatting. We ordered multiple different style and flavor old fashions and the menu will indicate if the it comes with an add on like cookie or bacon with a little icon. The cookies were all fantastic! The bacon was tasty but a little bit soggy and not crispy for my taste. But the fat and savor of the bacon really works well with the sweet old fashioned choices. The sweet cookie works well with the less sweet and more tart options. It's pretty smart. Our server, Hanna was very attentive with food, drinks and waters and also very upbeat. Definitely not a dull place to get a drink at all. People seemed to be having a good time and enjoying the cozy feel of the bar.
