food: - ordered the soup of the day + italian cold cut sandwich (around ~$17 in total) to go - soup came out hot and warm and the sandwich tasted delicious as well - plenty of ingredients inside of the bread, worth its price service: - the lady who took my order was friendly and sweet and made sure i had a spoon + crackers for the soup in the bag before handing my order which i appreciated very much ambiance: - although there wasn't too many people at the time that i visited, the place felt comfortable and relaxed - definitely a hidden gem of a small business, would recommend anyone who's in the area in a mood for a good sandwich and some warm soup for breakfast/lunch :)

My Lunch Spot is definitely a hidden gem to the city. I drive around this area often and I've always been curious about this Deli Shop. I have not been able to check them due to the hours, but recently I had time to stop in. They are located in a business park and parking is a bit limited in the front. You don't see much from the outside because of the tinted windows, but inside they are working efficiently. The staff greated me when I entered, by the vibe of the restaurant its a family owned business. The staff was welcoming throughout my entire time. I asked which hot sandwich was their most popular. The gentlemen said the Beef Bulgogi Sandwich. I opted for that one and the 6in option. You can choose your style of bread as well. The inside has plenty of seating and they will bring the sandwich out to you. I would say this sandwich was as advertised! It was tremendous! The sweet and savory flavors of bulgogi in between bread is a recipe for success! Flavor bombs in every bite! The staff even asked if I wanted jalapeños and of course I couldn't say no. It added perfect amount of heat and elevated the tastes of the sandwich. I would say My Lunch Spot definitely delivered for me on my first visit! If I'm in the area again before closing I would happily try more subs/sandwiches. They're a local favorite and I can see why. Thanks for the great lunch! ( ^_^)b

I have been passing by My Lunch Spot many times and was wondering what it was. Then I found out about this place by searching for sandwiches nearby. It's definitely a hidden gem. The place looks clean, and it has many tables inside. The lady was very friendly, and she greeted me when I walked in. I got their Tuna salad cold sandwich (Reg 6 inch $11.50, or Large 10 inch $14.95) with toasted sourdough and Clam Chowder (small size $4.95) with 3 crackers. All the ingredients were very fresh, and the tuna salad sandwich tasted great. My clam chowder was also very delicious.

Before even trying the food, the service was great. The staff was friendly, engaging, and helpful since it was my first time there. The ambiance was also cool, especially with the iconic Lunch Atop a Skyscraper photo from 1932 hanging on the wall as you eat. I tried the egg salad and chicken salad sandwiches, and both were delicious! They have a solid chip selection and even carry Inca Kola! I can't believe I hadn't heard of this place before, but I'll definitely be back--and I'll be bringing my friends!

Wow -- My Lunch Spot did not disappoint. My partner and I travel from LA to Riverside pretty often to visit family, and we're always on the hunt for new food spots along the way. Traffic was brutal as usual, so we decided to stop earlier than planned and came across My Lunch Spot. After checking out their website and seeing the detailed sandwich photos, we were sold immediately. And what better time to write a quick review than when sitting in traffic. We placed a pickup order for two sandwiches: * The Turkey Club with extra provolone * The Bulgogi Beef Sandwich with jalapeños When I walked in, the ladies behind the counter greeted me right away and had my order ready to go. Fast, friendly service -- always appreciated when you're hungry and sitting through SoCal traffic. I also ordered a combo with a large drink and chips, and tried the Lavender Earl Grey iced tea. First thing I noticed: the place was spotless. Seriously clean and well kept, which honestly says a lot about a restaurant. Now the important part -- the sandwiches. As soon as I opened the Bulgogi Beef sandwich and pulled the pre-cut halves apart, the melted cheese stretched perfectly between both sides. At that point I already knew it was going to be good. And it absolutely was. The jalapeños added just the right amount of heat without overpowering the flavor of the beef. The Turkey Club was equally satisfying. Everything tasted fresh, balanced, and made with care. Even the pickles stood out -- crisp, flavorful, and surprisingly the perfect addition to each bite. And one more thing: the Lavender Earl Grey iced tea was really refreshing. Just a heads up, it's unsweetened, but after adding a packet of sugar it was perfect. Safe to say we found a new regular stop on our Riverside drives. Big thanks to the ladies working that afternoon. We'll definitely be back.

What a cute little place I've never tried! They got solid sandwiches, great squaw and just my kind of service and staff. I do wish I could stay here overnight at some point just for fun and not for creeps. The veggie sandwich was bomb, filled with all the right layers of fresh crisp greens and boiled egg with cheese. I can't wait to come back and try other vegetarian options!

My Lunch Spot is delicious and spots like these are always a great reminder to choose local :) ! I thought that the prices were affordable and the ingredients seem fresh and handled with care. I got a breakfast burrito (last call 10:15am for breakfast) and it was stellar. I liked how the potatoes were both crispy, yet soft. Service was extremely sweet and friendly, the woman who helped me seemed so kind and her attitude alone is enough for me to return!

Talk about a one-of-a-kind sandwich shop. This place is amazing. I've had their Italian on a roll and now their veggie delight (minus egg, add turkey), on squaw, and both have been the best sandwiches I have ever had. Their bread is so amazing and soft. They have two different flavors of fresh brewed iced tea which is a plus for me. To top it off, the people who work there are always so sweet and kind. Run to this place. You won't regret it.

My family and I have been looking for a good deli shop on Yelp when we stumbled upon this place . When we walked in we were immediately greeted with a nice uplifting attitude. Hands down one of the places that I truly miss since turning vegan. My Lunch Spot really knew how to turn a basic sandwich (some not as basic) into something incredible!! Eating here was always a great experience with the great tasting food, good amount of options, and great customer service provided by the sweet ladies that worked here. Over the past few years I had the opportunity to try many of their sandwiches with some of my favorite being the following: chicken salad and squaw bread, bulgolgi sandwich, and spicy chicken. The food is always fresh, they aren't skimpy with the portions and amount of meat they use, and overall you get the most out of your money coming here. Besides their sandwiches both their potato salad and macaroni salad are a really good addition to get alongside your sandwich! Out of all of the sandwich places around Walnut I would highly recommend stopping by here and giving them a shot. You will not be let down and I know once you try My Lunch Spot once you will be back for more! read more

To the reviewers naming another sandwich shop up the street and telling people to go there. THAT IS JUST PLAIN RUDE. Both businesses are mom and pop shops and your recommendations make it seem like you are promoting another business on this one's Yelp page. Honestly very surprised people are willing to do this. It's not like you are recommending McDonald's over Jack-in-the-Box. Your reviews can really harm small businesses like this one. I stopped by for lunch and the sandwich did not disappoint. I enjoy all their menu items from salads and soups to rice bowls and sandwiches. The food is high quality and well prepared. The that I receive here is what makes this store stand out. I have always been greeted with a smile and received prompt service. Now, about the other sandwich shop whose loyal customers have been recommending people go to on this business's Yelp page. They also have good sandwiches, but the service is really bad. I used to frequent that business but stopped because owner and her daughter are pretty impatient and condescending. In fact, the other employees are more courteous than the owner and her daughter. I have been coming to this shop since it was called Charlie's Sandwich Shoppe. I believe they used to be located on Golden Springs and Lemon many years ago. I highly recommend you stop by if you are looking for a quick and quality lunch and staff who provide great service. read more

Something so simple can taste so good. It's just a sandwich shop, but hey.. I don't know how to make a sandwich well! I like the turkey club with sourdough bread. Just picked up Steak & Cheese hot sandwich with added avocado total for $9.50. I drove 15 min and its worth it. My first time. Looks and tastes amazing. Will come back! This place is an incredible find! Its pretty busy during the lunch hour as expected, so I would probably suggest calling ahead of time. The customer service is very genuine and kind. My favorite sandwich is the Mary's Special. It was the perfect sandwich for me! The flavors hit in all the right spots. My mom also really enjoys this restaurant, so it seems appropriate for a variety of age groups! I will definitely be continuing to come back to this business. Also, during the covid times, the cleanliness is great. They wipe down chip bags and bottled drinks for you. The inside of the store is also kept very sanitary. read more

Found this place while looking for a place to eat on my lunch hour. It was about a 10 minute freeway drive, but well worth it. The food came a couple minutes after we ordered and everything was super fresh (especially the bread) and tasted great. I had the steak sandwich and tomato soup. Family owned and operated by from what I could see as three generations of Korean ladies. My lunch spot is a little gem inside a commercial strip mall. First off the sandwiches are always fresh,delicious and made with love by the Grandma of this family. Everything is great and the place is clean and friendly. You can't go wrong with the lunch spot. I have been going to them since day one. I love they kept the menu from Charlies and add on. I used to come here ALL the time. Hands down - BEST turkey avocado on squaw I came here recently because I was in the area and I gotta say, they definitely don't pack your sandwich as much as they used to. I remember barely being able to bite it because it was so thick. Still good though and the service is great. They're so nice here. Even the old owners were extremely nice too! We also got a california roll and it was pretty good. Not going to lie though, I wasn't sure about ordering a california roll from a sandwich spot but it was pretty damn good read more

Definitely prefer Mom and Pop Sandwich shops over Subway. So this is definitely my choice. The two owners are very nice. The price is really reasonable. They give you a good amount of meat on the sandwiches as well. Its located smack in the middle of some commercial offices. So during the week i can imagine parking can be a little jam packed. It takes a little longer also to get your food but thats because its fresh and they just don't slap a sandwich together. Im not the biggest guy 6'1" 205 but a regular sized sandwich is good enough for me. The only downside is the Tv is in a corner by the entrance but lets face it you came in here to eat not to watch TV. Other downside is the hours. I believe they close at 2pm. If they stayed open until 9pm. Man I would be coming here a whole lot more. Great Place! read more

The place itself is small, bright and clean, but I don't know what it is about all the Boiling Points I've been to, but service is their weakpoint. While they're all friendly and helpful when they get to you, it's getting their attention in the first place that seems to be an issue. All the locations also just seem slow in cleaning tables or getting a good turnaround for guests. It's the same issues we've noticed at other BP locations like the Gardena one that it seems intentional. Food wise, it's a good amount of food and like anywhere else, prices continue to go up. With each dish, you get a choice of spiciness levels and rice or noodles to go with your dish. There's also an assortment of dipping sauces for you to use, I like to combine all three to make a nice dip. Take your time to eat, they can add more broth to your pot if you're running low or even replenish your flame if it dies out during your meal. Or if it's too hot, you can always ask them to turn off the flame for you. It depends what you like or are craving, my personal favorites are the beef, lamb, milk cream curry, and Japanese miso. It's an okay location, not my favorite, but we were craving hot pot that night.

This review is long overdue! This place is the perfect quick work lunch spot. I either get the soup of the day (Clam Chowdah, Minestrone and Chicken Soupy are all yummy) or a hot sandwich.
