*Hidden Gem Alert in Walnut* This is my second time in a week coming to this lunch spot. During my first visit I was welcomed kindly by the friendly and helpful staff. I wasn't sure what to order, so the staff member walked me through their menu items at a high level and provided some recommendations. I was not disappointed. I tried a small hot and cold sandwich to get some different tastes. The egg salad sandwich is made well, and I think it's good with the sqwah bread. It balances the egg taste well with a slightly sweeter type of bread. Can't go wrong with that option! I also ordered a small pork bulgogi sandwich, and this little thing is chock-full of amazing flavor! You must try it at least once. I think next time I will try the beef bulgogi. Today they ran out of chicken salad by the time I got in, so I'll try to get her sooner as that seems to be a hot item. read more

I have been coming here for a couple of years now.. let me tell you since they have relocated, much much more room, extremely spacious. The owners are sooo sweet and nice, always have a smile on there face. Amazing Chicken Salad sandwich on Squaw !!! Every time I come here that is the only thing i order, I'm sure the other things on the menu are great i just cant get away from this sandwich..lol Please try the sandwich with everything on it ( mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato & pickles)... and don't forget to get the peppers on the side...yummmmmy!! My GF brought me lunch from this place and it was delicious. She got me their Charlie Special which was their Pastrami and Corned beef sandwich. I got the large one and it was more than enough (I had to stuff myself to be able to finish it). The sandwich was big and hearty and it really hit the spot! Eating here was always a great experience with the great tasting food, good amount of options, and great customer service provided by the sweet ladies that worked here. Over the past few years I had the opportunity to try many of their sandwiches with some of my favorite being the following: chicken salad and squaw bread, bulgolgi sandwich, and spicy chicken. The food is always fresh, they aren't skimpy with the portions and amount of meat they use, and overall you get the most out of your money coming here. Besides their sandwiches both their potato salad and macaroni salad are a really good addition to get alongside your sandwich! Both businesses are mom and pop shops and your recommendations make it seem like you are promoting another business on this one's Yelp page. Honestly very surprised people are willing to do this. It's not like you are recommending McDonald's over Jack-in-the-Box. Your reviews can really harm small businesses like this one. I stopped by for lunch and the sandwich did not disappoint. I enjoy all their menu items from salads and soups to rice bowls and sandwiches. The food is high quality and well prepared. The that I receive here is what makes this store stand out. I have always been greeted with a smile and received prompt service. Now, about the other sandwich shop whose loyal customers have been recommending people go to on this business's Yelp page. They also have good sandwiches, but the service is really bad. I used to frequent that business but stopped because owner and her daughter are pretty impatient and condescending. In fact, the other employees are more courteous than the owner and her daughter. I have been coming to this shop since it was called Charlie's Sandwich Shoppe. This place is an incredible find! Its pretty busy during the lunch hour as expected, so I would probably suggest calling ahead of time. The customer service is very genuine and kind. My favorite sandwich is the Mary's Special. It was the perfect sandwich for me! The flavors hit in all the right spots. My mom also really enjoys this restaurant, so it seems appropriate for a variety of age groups! I will definitely be continuing to come back to this business.
