We came a little late to eat but the hostess was so kind and let us dine in. We are vegetarian and tried the fresh roll with tofu, fried tofu, edamame as appetizers and parang curry with tofu and green curry with tofu. They both were so delicious and the spice level was perfect. I liked the green curry the most. The portions are huge. We took the rest of our food home. The vegetables were cooked to perfection in the curries. The restaurant is decorated beautifully and peaceful music playing. There's lots of parking since it's in a strip mall. It's in the corner. We are visiting Sarasota for a few days, and are Whole Food Plant Based No-Oil vegan only eaters. We were desperate to find a restaurant that would customize some of their menu to be vegan no oil, and we happened to call My Thai Restaurant. We spoke to Emi, and she told us to come by and she would definitely customize some delicious items for us. She did not disappoint! We had huge, delicious fresh roll with homemade peanut sauce, tofu and steamed veggies in an oil free soy and fresh ginger sauce, and tofu and steamed veggies with a cashew soy sauce. All entrees came with delicious brown/black large grain rice. FABULOUS! We'd give it 6 stars if we could. This place is a hidden gem with some of the best Thai food we've ever had. My 5 stars are based on what a Thai restaurant in America should be. Let's talk spice--if you want your food spiced on a level of true authentic thai spice, you need to tell your waitstaff "I want my meal Thai hot, or Thai medium, etc" " I want it spice like you would have it" . If they authentically spiced every meal alot of Americans would never come back. If you want your meal to be not so spicy, tell them. They are wonderful to the groups I have brought into their restaurant. The food and ingredients are fresh, you'll taste so many layers of flavor. The decor is delightful. The kitchen is clean, my friend took a peek to see for herself.
