The noodles were overly starchy, incredibly oily, and completely void of any flavor besides salt. The passion fruit lemonade I ordered tasted sickly sweet, basically what you would expect from an artificial sugar syrup. Their soft shell crab salad was also overly oily (how does that even happen?) and soggy. 1 star for the food, but I'm adding a second star because the people there were nice. read more

I was pleasantly surprised. I got takeout and everything was very good. I was a big fan of the Thai iced tea- in my opinion it was the perfect ratio of tea and coconut milk. I tried the garden rolls (good, but I don't prefer iceberg lettuce in mine), the spring rolls (good- I really liked the semi-spice y dipping sauce they came with), and went with pad Thai with tofu to measure against a pretty common standard. I really liked the pad Thai. It had good flavor and there was plenty of it. I probably would have preferred if it came with more (or any really) vegetables. I got the Hubs his usual drunken noodles (extra extra spicy) but he's not home yet to try and see if it's up to his standard. All in all, if I find myself in the area again, I'd definitely stop in. read more

I love this small local Thai restaurant. My all time favorite is the Larb Gai salad. So full of flavor, spicy and delicious. Love the sticky rice too. My server Ashley was so nice and accommodating. I will be visiting here every week while working in the Frederick area. Yummy goodness!!! read more

I had a Restaurant.com certificate for My Thai. They do not expire. According to the owner, it was the previous owner who advertised through Restaurant.com. She refused to honor the certificate (after we spent $60 on food. She did not offer anything at all in order to thank us for our patronage. She also refused to tell me when she purchased the restaurant. I believe that when you purchase a business, you purchase its debts, as well. I felt the certificate should have been honored, and at the very least she should have taken something off of the bill simply for the good will. We will not go back. Update: After a first great experience, we went back there for dinner a few weeks later. It was a disaster. We had a grungy, teenage waitress whose service was so bad (in a nearly empty restaurant) that we didn't tip her. The cook screwed up my order and left out the key ingredient.... Hubby had long finished his meal when mine finally came back from the kitchen. We won't be back. Stopped there for lunch on Sunday. Their Tom Yum soup (spelling?) didn't impress me (kind of bland), but the papaya salad did. Hubby's chicken dish had great, authentic flavors too. When I took a quick peek in the kitchen, I saw two older Asian ladies working the pots and pans = good, home cooked Thai food. This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants and I am a huge fan of Thai food. My family and I come here a lot and we always get the Crispy Chicken, always! Our other favorite dishes are the Pad Woon Sen, Pad Se-Eiew, and Drunken Noodles. For starters we order the Garden Rolls-Shrimp and for dessert; Mango with Sticky Rice. Every time I leave My Thai, I feel like I over did it. I have eaten too much, but it's so hard to stop when the food is good!!! I had really high hopes for this place but unfortunately it didn't pan out. I got the panang curry and it was decent but way too heavy on the peanut. Still, I thought it was pretty good. That is where the good news ends... The other adults did not like their dishes at all. Both said there was absolutely no flavor. I can count on 1 hand how many times my husband has complained about his meal and this was one of them. I actually laughed out loud when I unwrapped the chicken satay; it's texture matched it's sad appearance. To top it all off, the woman I dealt with picking up the food did not say a single word to me. No hello. No have a good day. Nothing. It was just weird. WORST PLACE EVA' What a sad bunch of crap (located in a podunk little strip mall next to a Roy Rogers). It's just as disappointing on the inside as it is on the outside-- perhaps more so. It's single-note, subpar quality Thai cuisine which seems as though it's prepared by amateurs afraid of selling food. I felt bad for our waitress because she was friendly and courteous enough but the entire room of people was frowning like they couldn't wait to leave and it wasn't because of her! Their food is as close as I can find to the super good Thai that I learned to love back in California, where my two favorite dishes were "spicy chicken, extra spicy" and green curry chicken. This restaurant is clean, it has table cloths, quick service, and quite a broad menu. Their green curry chicken is quite good (I don't dig eggplant, so I 86'ed that). Some of the spicy chicken dishes are good too with a variety of vegetables and sauces. I've had a few business lunches here and every time, people rave about how good it is. They even have pad thai for beginners :) theirs is good, I just don't like pad thai myself. Dinner prices are a little steep for carryout vs. lunch, I think green curry chicken was $13 + tax, but for the quality and the fact that there is no substitute for it, the price is worth it. Although this is located in a strip mall, the inside is quaint with a warm atmosphere and very friendly waiters. I would definitely recommend the fish cakes. I tried them on a whim because they were something that sounded very unique and they turned out be taste amazing. Loved the sauce they came with. Another personal favorite of mine is the green curry. The food here has always been just ok, but our 7 yr. old loves the chicken skewers and I take her there occasionally as a treat. I have never been impressed with any other dish but the yellow chicken curry. The last time we went (and it really will be the last time, sorry kiddo) we had absolutely HORRIBLE service by the waitress. We've had different male waiters before that were fine but this waitress was the worst I've seen in years. We walked in and though we were the only people there at the time, she didn't greet us nor respond to my greeting of 'Hello'. She very grumpily asked for here or to go and we had to seat ourselves once we said 'here'. She handed us the menus without saying anything. As we sat there a young couple with a child walked in and she cheerfully greeted them. We ordered our drinks (they have the coconut juice 1 out of 5 times, though I still tried. No luck). I waited for our food to arrive to ask her why she was so discourteous to us but not to the couple. She said, "Because I know them." So I said, "So you don't greet your new customers, only your old ones?" (We go there every few months, but that's besides the point). She didn't have an answer to that. When she came back to refill our water, I said, "You are really quite rude. We haven't been rude to you since we arrived and yet you've been quite rude to us." She said, "Ma'am, all I can do is try." I said, "you haven't tried at all with us." At this point I also told her my mother thought she was quite rude the last time she was in there with our daughter. Which is quite true. I find some people have a pre-conceived notion of what groups of people are better tippers and which aren't and provide service accordingly and so they are tipped less and it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Being married to a Thai/Lao person and eating the food for the past 8 years has got to give me some credibility not to mention we're both Asian. I read the other reviews and obviously the person who gave it a one star is smoking crack or doesn't know what Thai food is supposed to taste like. I've been there several times and each time is a pleasure. The inside is clean and with the regular "Thai" decor. The restaurant is kinda small but kid friendly. Staff was courteous and friendly with kids. The papaya salad is good! If you ask for it to be spicy, be sure you can handle spicy or are used to it. They either do the Thai version (just fish sauce for taste) or Lao version (both fish sauce and shrimp paste for taste). I like the Lao version because it gives it a kick of flavor. The kapow (stir fried chicken - you can choose your meat) was sauteed excellently with a lot of flavor (garlic, thai basil, peppers, chicken, and sauces). This is a good little Thai place. The dining room is simple and clean, and the staff is very courteous. The chicken satay is very tasty, and the peanut sauce that accompanies it is delicious. I am also a big fan of their yellow chicken curry. The sauce is rich, creamy, and aromatic and the chicken and vegetables are never overcooked. My only complaint is that they do not sell real "fresh brewed" iced tea. What is it with this soda fountain stuff. It tastes about as much like tea as soybean tastes like fillet mignon. You may also have to ask them to turn the volume on the huge flat screen television on the wall down if you want to have a conversation. Hidden away in a nondescript brick building, My Thai is worth seeking out for a reasonably priced thai meal. There's nothing fancy about the interior but it's clean and simple. Service is good and the couple of curry dishes I have had were excellent. Prices were fair and there's plenty of parking. Ordered online for pick up. I guess they don't get many online orders because they didn't see my order until I got there. I had more of a problem with the waiter that just had me stand there waiting for him and never asked me what I was there for. He was going about serving people and cleaning tables, it wasn't even busy, I almost walked out. Finally Ms. Lady Chef took notice and asked me what I ordered and was very apologetic, she offered me a seat and some water, and went back to make my food right away. I ordered the Crispy Duck with Basil, and let me tell you, I'm glad I didn't walk out. Perfectly cooked, with a flavor intense sauce. The description on the menu says "Crispy boneless duck breast with fresh chili pepper and garlic sauce, wrapped with crispy basil". I was a bit disappointed that the duck wasn't wrapped with the crispy basil, but being that the order was to-go, I understood that putting hot food in a to-go container would probably make it soggy.
