A little on the pricey side, but considering it's in Glendale, it's expected. Thanks to the open kitchen, I saw the "cooks" use their bare hands to touch food after touching the counter and utensils. I stopped eating after seeing that. Here is where they lose 2 stars. Regardless of your party size, you will be charged 18% gratuity PLUS a 3% "kitchen appreciation" charge. This is ABSURD!! You are forcing a customer to "gift" staff extra money for doing their job??? What? Make that make sense!! A tip/gratuity should ALWAYS be a the discretion of the Patron NOT the establishment. We are being forced to tip a service not rendered when we order. This new trend is the most ridiculous thing ever and a server is not "entitled" To this. And lastly, the bill was $168. My friend and I go to split the bill. She gives her card, and I give a $100 bill. The "claim" was they didn't have change!! Ummm you don't have $16???? This is nonsense! Overall good. When we first arrived it was not crowded so service was prompt and the food was good. We had the snapper Carpaccio, yellowtail tostadas and Chilean sea bass. All delicious. Cocktails were good. We had the paper plane, diamondback and Glenmark Rose. We then decided we wanted the filet mignon. It took a while to come out and when it did, it was cold. Went here for DineLA with a friend. She's pescatarian so it was great to see a lot of vegetarian and fish options. We sat at the rooftop which is beautiful during sunset-- 5* for the views and the vibes. On to the food. I ordered beet salad, MYA roll, tempura shrimp, filet mignon, wild mushroom, and espresso brûlée. My friend ordered beet salad, eggplant crisps, chef's roll, sea bass, asparagus, and espresso brûlée. What we loved: beet salad, MYA roll, tempura shrimp, eggplant crisps, and chef's roll. We were both disappointed with our mains (filet mignon and sea bass). My filet mignon came with some kind of gravy over it and uncooked cippolinis (like what is the point of that?). Her sea bass STILL HAD BONES. My wild mushrooms were too wild for me lol meaning it tasted like they just picked it from a forest and didn't wash before serving. First time experience and last. I was excited, and disappointed. Fourth of July and thinking rooftop. When we got there I was seated to a table away from the scenery, we chose non smoking. We then changed that and was kindly sat in another area more open and scenery was lovely. Out of my purpose of booking here it wasn't until after we were sat down that I was informed there wasn't going to be fire works. It wasn't a hidden agenda. So I had to seriously laugh at this. Glendale apparently has a fire work law. Then our server came, we thought of leaving but ended up staying at I booked very close to the time fire works would had started. Our server did not listen. He heard some of it and didn't hear other parts which left an issue when a plate came and it wasn't ordered. As food rushed out , we were trying to stay organized but it did not go well. Drinks were in smaller glasses than what an American is use to. This is more a Lebanon Armenian Resturant. For a Hooka lounge that's never a bad thing. However I watched as our server became less and less available and 49 mins in for drinks to be exchanged. Maybe on purpose due to a mishap on the ordering. By an hour however it got old. One of my guest finally got up and got our waiter to ask for boxed Togo. He gave her attitude, told her he was just at our table. ( he was near it? Taking others order but he seemed to had missed the women flagging him down. Or ignored it) She tried for 20 mins. She got one box and bag and he helped himself on his tip. He didn't really ask and applied 18%. He didn't earn that. There is also a kitchen fee of $5. This place wasn't what I would say earning of that. Their food wasn't memorable. More like a sushi restaurant that dishes should be around $10. Instead he had them at $25 and up, honestly even their Wagyu steak wasn't delicious but rather steak with a spice towards it. I've had better. I normally enjoy bad service and am use the flux of restaurants being okayish. But this was laughable. Not a solid effort on their part of Fourth of July and defending not for the food. Glendale spot on the rooftop can be enjoy more for palates of senior citizens who like a quiet embeyonce of hooka and bland food, cost more in fees than the actual dish. Lebenonies be making it rich here with very little effort. Two stars for ambiance. read more

I want to start off by saying Faith made us feel welcomed and was attentive to our parties needs. The ambiance of this rooftop is breathtaking. It is such a nice piece of heaven in Glendale! Everything thereafter was completely downhill... The sushi - it consumes most of their menu and they even have the sushi chef situated in front of you with the refrigerated fish. But my goodness, the taste of the fish seemed like it was at least a few days old. The tuna toast, served on flatbread, looked nothing like the pictures, rather tuna that seemed to have been puréed with spices. Hard pass. My family ordered a handful of rolls, including the truffle salmon and salmon avocado roll. The latter was inedible due to the aftertaste and I think they went in with a heavy hand with the truffle because it completely masked the fish taste. The shishito peppers were charred, like no juicy, flavor, or much texture left there. The burrata was overloaded with balsamic and honestly not good. The best part of the meal was the three cheese flat bread that we took a second round off because we were starving. Our waiter seemed to have too many tables on his hand. It was just very inconsistent. Although I relate to working in a high pressure environment, they need to get their staff better coordinated. I wish they would play more music all night long, I caught a hint of it closer to 9/10 pm. Overall, the ambiance alone is a nice reason to check it out. Not sure if I'd come here with an appetite. Not good), beet salads and express brûlée. I like the chef sushi. I have to say the taste does lack a bit of flavor to me. The seabass was average and the potatoes was not seasoned at All. Not sure why they had a big size very char inedible cauliflower on my fish plate -because it wasn't pleasant to look at. My boo has the filet, beet salad, mushrooms, avocado sushi, pistachio cake, and fried eggplants...he was ok with them But he thought it was kinda bland. Service was good. We live locally and don't really care for restaurants in Glendale but we do like coming to Mya Rooftop. It's away from the busy Downtown Glendale chaos and is freeway friendly right off of Brand Blvd. Parking is by valet for 20.00 or street parking for free. The lobby is welcoming and the elevators are quick to the rooftop. Restrooms are located on the 8th floor and in the lobby, a little inconvenient but what can you do?! We really enjoy the couches with the fire pit, but be careful it can make your glasses and dishes hot. We definitely suggest a reservation as the fire pits are not available at every couch. There are multiple heaters throughout and we never felt cold, there is also a rain tent in place for the winter months. The menu could definitely use more appetizers, a variety of salads and a bit more creative entree's. We have ordered the filet mignon, sushi rolls and a beet salad a few times and they were great. We also always love a good glass of wine and we have definitely found that here. Other guests around were enjoying the hookah , but it didn't bother us. Staff were friendly at check in and our service was quick. We will continue to come here to enjoy the calm late evenings on the rooftop with city views. Enjoy! read more

The location has potential but the service is not sufficient! The food was okay, it took over an hour to have our appetizers brought out. We asked several times for our food. Well first of all what a hidden gem! I had a unexpected night off and truly just wanted to grab an drink and a enjoy a sunset. Googled a few places and stumbled upon the Mya rooftop. Took a few glances at the pictures here on yelp and knew I had to try it! Got there right at opening at 6pm and it was absolutely stunning outside that night . Went and sat at the bar top and was greeted promptly, I took a look at the speciality cocktails and knew I needed to start with a espresso martini ( that is off menu) I asked the bartender if it was possible and to my delight it was ! My friend has been convincing me to go back here , saying that their service has improved. Well, we went here last night. It wasn't as busy due to rain. They had nice music playing and our service was amazing. Our server was kind, attentive and very accommodating. We got everything quickly and they kept checking on us frequently. I have no complaints about anything. The only thing I am not very happy about is their menu. Their sushi is not good. We tried it in the past and don't think it's good quality. The rolls are also super small and basic. We were hungry so we looked for more filling items. We could only find the flatbread and fries . I used to love their tuna stack and the ceviche , both of which are no longer in the menu . I loved the snapper sashimi with pear. Omg that was so tasty. We asked our server how many pieces, and she said 8. But it was 7 pieces. However, we loved it . Their wine selection is good too . Maybe next time we will try their entrees. Came here on a Thursday evening at five and it was the perfect time to arrive since that's when they open. If you come in earlier you should wait downstairs. They don't let anyone sit even if it's 10 minutes before they open. Once we ordered and got our food which came pretty quickly, the food was just OK. The truffle fries did not taste like truffles and had some weird fake looking and tasting rubber mushroom thing. The shrimp appetizer tasted just like better hardly any shrimp. The sushi was subpar but at least I could taste the truffle oil in the salmon truffle sushi thing. Beef sliders were made in but the sashimi plate was pretty refreshing. The service was great and the food and drinks came out quickly. I was there on New Years Eve with my family and had the best time ever! The food and drinks were amazing, the music was on fire and we danced the entire night. Everyone there was having an incredible time while dancing the night away. The DJ played the best selection of music! This restaurant charges an 18% service fee and a 3% "kitchen appreciation fee" which I'm not against... BUT, I feel it's incumbent upon the waitstaff to tell diners that is the case. I dine out a lot and I've never NOT been informed of it verbally. It's on the check at the very bottom but I believe they count on you not noticing. Jon & Vinny's, for example, tells you about the service fee and, additionally, there is an explanation on the bill saying that the service fee is not a tip. No such explanation here. And why an additional 3% for the kitchen? Are they not sharing in the service charges? I sincerely hope that all the employees are being provided with health insurance. Great parking on the street, our server was attentive, the rooftop was lovely (I guess you can smoke a hookah in one part?) but the food was subpar. A beet salad with four beets, branzino that had a lot of skin (I'm dubious as to whether it actually was branzino vs. another cut of fish) with bland tasteless couscous underneath it. And four "roasted" broccoli spears that were undercooked. My friend had sushi and said it was just okay. Fries were tasty but soggy. The food came out way too fast and we felt rushed. Need to work on pacing. The prices weren't bad but once the service fee was added plus my tip, it turned out to be overpriced. Too bad. I really wanted to like it. Won't be back. read more
