first of all their website needs to be updated because half of their menus items that sounded good werent even on the actual physical menu they gave. the service was not only so slow it was also bad. it took almost an hour to wait on the bill. the food sucked compared to the prices and what really kicked the bucket for me was how they charged 16 dollars for evion water which you can literally buy for like less than three dollars. overall food was overpriced and not delicious at all and service sucked. portions were really small and underwhelming. We came here for Mother's Day. My family ordered sea bass, beef sliders, steaks, short bread, lamb chops, and truffle fries. For how expensive this place is I hoped for better service than we received. We asked for a non-smoking section and were somehow accidentally seated by a hookah smoking table. We were all situated so we didn't want to move once one of the servers apologized about this mistake. Our food came out very late even though we were one of the first families to arrive for the evening. The steaks and lamb chops were all over cooked and charred beyond the level we had asked our food to be prepared. I tried a bite of the sea bass and that was good though. They forgot one of the main dish orders at our table but by that time we were ready for the check. The waiter apologized for all the mistakes and they ended up giving us something like 40% off the total bill and even offered us free desert. One of the managers came over and personally apologized for everything and said that two of the main guys didn't make it to work that night because of accidents and so they were really behind. I've had a great experience at the rooftop at Glenmark, mainly made possible due to the amazing staff. I've had more than a few encounters with the bartenders & they've always been super sweet, honest, and professional. We've laughed a lot over the past 9 days and it's so refreshing to interact with people who genuinely enjoy what they do & don't complain or create drama. I love the energy of the bartenders & the complexities of their personalities. They make the best drinks and always have positive attitudes even when they get busy. A special acknowledgement to Matt, Ivan, and Cristian, who I've gotten to know from day 1 and they just know what I like and how I like it. Additionally, I'd like to acknowledge Nicole, for being friendly and a breath of fresh air; Carlos for being sweet and attentive and he also created the the Delly Hibiscus!! They were accommodating for a late dinner while I was staying at the hotel but service was very disjointed and uneven. They don't even deserve the one star I gave them and this is not based on one visit to this place, I've been to Mila (glenmark rooftop) 4 times, not by choice obviously. The first time we visited this place was almost a year ago during pandemic on a Sunday late night and we were so pleased with everything. I was super disappointed but still wanted to go back with couples to see if the past two times were just a coincidence but i can't even begin to explain how horrible our experience was tonight to a point that our waiter had to apologize and he told us that he understands our frustration. We had a reservation at 9:30 and we were seated immediately, the place was so packed. The first time our waiter greeted us, was 20 minutes after we were seated and we asked for a round of water and placed our order at the same time since we had 20 minutes to decide, waters came out 20 minutes after that which was 40 minutes after we sat down originally and the waiter told us they didn't have cups( how does that even happen) we got our drinks at 10:40. We ordered a bottle of sake and one old fashioned and one coke, we got our food at 11. The sushi was not edible and we had to just leave it on the table. I ordered burrata salad and it was good. We also ordered sliders and fries. After we all finished our food, the fries came out. I have no words but to say this place is not worth the try. The drinks were okay, my husbands old fashion was either to sweet or too strong (he had 3) and lastly the desserts, i had the kadaif with dark coffee and my husband had cream brûlée - all 3 terrible. Third time trying this rooftop restaurant on top of Glenmark hotel. While the hotel itself has offered exquisite service time and time again, the rooftop restaurant has been a disappointment repeatedly. Two close friends and I had dinner there one of the evenings this week. First of all, gratuity is not a tax. It's supposed to be at the guest's discretion based on their experience: food, service etc. Second, if you are slapping an 18% gratuity, then at least give great service and great food (not even average). For example our beat salad was delivered when we almost finished our entrees. And that's after we reminded the waiter who would disappear for a significant amount of time. My water glass was left empty in front of me. Not once did anyone bothered to be attentive and offer to bring water. Even drinks we ordered were delivered 20 minutes later. Mind you, it was a cold evening and we were maybe one of the 5 or 6 tables in the entire place. As for the Mediterranean Seabass: swimming in spicy red sauce. No real chef would destroy the taste of such delicate and mild fish with such amount of overpowering sauce. One of us couldn't take more than 3 bites without taking a gulp of water to quench the heat. Unless the fish isn't that fresh, and you'd want to cover up the taste. So no matter how you cut it, it's a miserable reason. And they charge 18% gratuity! That's it for me. 3 times is a good number of times to give a place a chance. read more

Best thing to happen to Glendale since the Americana. There's something for everyone, a piece of Glendale that feels like you're in DTLA. They have large fire pit areas that make the perfect place for a big party. Reservations required and they book quickly. Keep in mind it's more about the atmosphere and drinks here than the food. 3 stars for the dinner menu, 5 stars for the sushi. Sushi is only available Fri and Sat I believe. A beautiful location on the roof of the Glenmark Hotel in Glendale with lovely views all around. Drinks were strong, food was tasty, the atmosphere was great and the staff were attentive. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Hookah was great too. My one complaint is it is very difficult if not impossible to get in touch with anyone at the rooftop for events. Their website books reservations through OpenTable, but if your party is over 6 guests, OpenTable refers you to the hotel directly. When you call the hotel at 818-900-2701, and select option 3 for Mila Rooftop, nobody answers and it leads you to voice-mail, which is full. No way to leave a message. I've been trying to get in contact for weeks to reserve their lovely lounge areas ($500 minimum), even sending a general email to the hotel asking for a callback and I haven't gotten one. So far I've only been able to reserve a table for 6 people through OpenTable, but I need to let them know I have at least 10 people in my party. Otherwise my girls night out will be a disaster. read more

Just visited here for the first time. Slightly odd location for a mid rise hotel but OK, I'll go with the flow and the locals here. They offer valet but plenty of free street parking up and down Brand in close proximity at night. Take the lift to the Rooftop and you'll find a large area situated with table and couch sectionals. My group had cocktails and hookah - both were fine and as to be expected. The views are eh as it's covered with rain tenting and the service was as to be expected. The ambiance was interesting. I can see why the locals love this location however for me, not sure its worth a drive out unless meeting locals there. read more

I went to Mila with a friend for a girls night out and it was the perfect spot. The rooftop has great vibes no matter whether you're here for date night, family dinner, special occasion, you name it. There's a section for smoking hookah and a section away from that. We got a bunch of items from the sushi menu and they were all GREAT. High quality and generous portions of uni!! When we got there, they saved us two small couches that could only fit about 10 people. When we asked for extra chairs it took them forever, so the other 6 guests had to stand up for quite a while until we just started grabbing chairs ourselves. The server looked upset and inconvenienced by us the minute he saw us. I preferred the spicy tuna roll as I thought the blue crab one tasted a bit too crabby. The sashimi was pretty good, and probably the only fish I would order again. The shishito peppers were good! The garlic aioli was the best part of it, and I think the dish would be better if there was a little more. The edamame was covered in a sweet sauce. I'm not too sure what it was, but it was too sweet for the edamame. It wasn't bad per-say, but it wasn't amazing either. The truffle fries were actually really good. It came with a small jar of ketchup too which was kind of cute! The basil lemonade was probably my favorite part. I like my drinks a little sweeter and this one met the requirement. All I could taste was lemonade. I don't know how many you would need to get drunk, but I just wanted it to taste good and it did. Overall, it's a nice place. Everyone is nice!
