My Eye Dr in Holly Springs. Bought two pair of glasses in '22-'23. I've had nothing but problems with the lens falling out and now the arm of the glass that fits in the ear, a spring inside attachment breaking off and the arm that goes around your ear falling apart. Manager Brittany at HS wants to charge me 80 plus tax for replacement/repair and argues on the phone with me that's the best she can do. If you're thinking about going here I'd think twice. She claimed the year warranty was over. But if a merchant sells a defective frame - and I've had quite few glasses in my lifetime with never a problem- if it sellls a defective frame it should make good. My wife had a visit and was examined fir bifocal glasses. She needed progressive bi-focals. .Cost of designer frames and glasses $740. Very similar designer frames and same script filled at Costco. Cost $239 This "My eye Dr"is priced in another world. Comp shop before buying there. I would expect MyEyeDr ti be maybe 20 per higher but not more than 3 times the cost. read more

First of all my son has been going to the office in Cary for years and they have been absolutely amazing. I scheduled an appt on line and they asked me to sign a form for release of records (I admit I forgot to do this). I explained to the lady that I could not see out of my glasses that I had from previous exam and that I had diabetes so I needed an exam for retinopathy. She said yes they could do a complete diabetic exam. The next morning I went in for my exam they said they wouldn't see me without my records. I asked what if I had never had an eye exam. She said they had tried to call me back and repeated they would not see me without my records. I showed her there were no missed calls or messages on my phone, these days you can't lie about that. Do they need my old exam because they can't really do their own? Apparently yes, she said they don't have the machines to do the exam for retinopathy! They can only dilate my eyes! I HAD EXPLAINED THAT I NEEDED A THOROUGH EXAM FOR DIABETES THE DAY BEFORE! I paid someone to come take care of my handicapped child, drove 40 minutes to this office and they didn't have my old exams to copy so they couldn't "perform" my exam. I am a nurse and I just don't understand, are they not able to do exams of their own? What if I had never had an exam before? If you have diabetes or want the health of your eyes tested, don't go here. As the girl said "they can only dilate your eyes, they don't have the machines to do the tests". I have NEVER complained about lack of service before or written a bad review. If I had forgotten to ask if they could do testing for retinopathy I would have said my bad and rescheduled my exam somewhere they could actually do the appropriate testing but don't mislead people into thinking you can provide a service when you can't. So I got glasses....I've worn them since I was 10 so this is not an uncommon occurance for me...in fact, its fair to say I've purchased hundreds in my lifetime. I like competent doctors, friendy staff, and durable glasses. My EyeDr hit the mark on all three. It was nice to not get the "hard sell" and they left me to explore their rather impressive inventory. It was a pleasant and efficient transaction.... Now I am going to to give them 6 stars for customer service. Why?? Well, my brand new glasses got a hairline crack...a very unusual occurance given scratch resistant polycarbonate lenses....but it happened....and this was not the result of trauma. They completely remade my glasses...including frame...at no charge. NO CHARGE, NO QUESTIONS, NO PROBLEM....and they did it with a smile. Customer service done right! read more

Had a nice experience at this My Eye Dr. location. I had made my appointment for the 16th but the day before they called to let me know they checked my insurance and I actually was not eligible for an exam until the 30th of the month. It was nice they let me know so I didn't get a surprise bill for the whole amount!! Upon arriving at my appointment, I was pleased with the aesthetics of the waiting area. Very fresh and modern! A Keurig coffee maker was a nice touch! And LOVED the huge print of the tree on the wall. The lady who took some initial tests was very friendly. I apologize I don't recall her name. Dr. Patel was nice as well. I ordered new contacts and replacement lenses for my glasses (I kept the same frames). It's kind of a shame that you don't get to leave WITH your items. The contacts are being shipped to my home and I have to come back to pick up my glasses. I'm used to same day service. The one... UNUSUAL... aspect was when filling out the medical form. I found it odd that HAY FEVER was listed in the same category as CANCER, HIV and AIDS. One is sneezing, the others- a little more. read more

I will never use MyEyeDr for purchase of lenses or frames. Paid over $400 and Had an issue with a defect in the lenses after 6 months. They would do nothing about it! The frames had a problem with the nose piece coming off and they told me I would have to contact the manufacturer myself. The minufacturer will replace the frames but I need to remove the prescription lenses first! I have no idea how to do that! What a waste of my money! My Opthamologist optical shop said they would have replaced both at no charge! I learned my lesson! read more

My wife and I made back to back appointments for eye exams to get new glasses. Took the time off work, both of us went in 10 minutes early to look at frames and we were told Dr Patel left early. I had previously spent over a grand on one pair of glasses at this location. Will never got to any MyEyeDr again. I have called up and tried to get info on my lens shape and they refuse to give that out. They expect me to purchase only from them even tho they can't make their own appointments. Wish you could opt out of giving stars as a rating, they don't deserve 1 star. read more

Not a huge fan of these guys. They added a retinal evaluation that's not covered by insurance without asking me. I would have likely said yes if the doctor had asked. In addition when I went to pay for glasses they had added lens options that I hadn't asked for and that they had never gone over with me. I had to ask for them to be removed. Lastly they didn't have a pair of sunglasses frames that I liked so I asked to have the prescription printed out so I could get them elsewhere, this while I was purchasing the regular glasses. I had to ask 3 times for the prescription as the lady clearly didn't want me using it to get the sunglasses somewhere else. read more

I've been to both the Raleigh (as Triangle Eye Institute) and Apex (as My Eye Dr.) locations, and I really like Dr. Patel and Dr. Said. The staff at both locations were friendly and helpful, too. I had gone to M.E.D. for 5-6 years in VA, too. My main complaint is that after selling the practice to My Eye Doctor, life for a contact lens wearer got more expensive. Contacts were at least twice as much out of pocket as they were last year when it was just TEI. They have program where you can get replacement lenses for tears or loss, which has been helpful in the past, but basically I paid as much for 12 pairs as I would have for 24 the year before - so there's clearly room to give an extra pair or two. Also, My Eye Dr is big on retinal photos, which I'm OK from time to time, but they couldn't access my photos form 2 years earlier at another M.E.D. location. If I'm paying for something that's not covered by insurance, I'd prefer that it really be a premium service (i.e., go above and beyond to have my photos from 2 yrs ago up and ready for comparison, then explain any differences to me). TLDR - The Doctors and staff are awesome (would give them 4-5 stars), I'm just not crazy about the new management. read more

My family and I have been going here for over 10 years and have really enjoyed Dr. Patel. I've always noticed that their front desk staff can be a bit rude but overlooked it because we like Dr. Patel. Today I called to get my daughter in asap for an eye exam which was past due and she was out of contacts. Yes I know that it is our fault for waiting until the last minute. I asked if we could get a spare set of contacts to get us by until they can see her a week from today. They put me on hold and connected me to a guy that said they could not. I said please she is out and is a student and needs to see. He said no again. I said if you can't fit me in within 24 hours I will need to go elsewhere. He said ok and that was it. He did not even try to squeeze us in. They just lost the business of my family. Horrible customer service! read more

Dr. Sanjay Patel and his team were awesome! He was very efficient compared to other Optometrists in the area. In the past, I've spent over an hour for a routine eye exam. The only thing I have to say about this business is "don't go there". We were funneled there from the "group-on" experience, the very worst service is what we received. The nightmare continues as the glasses are still not right,no return phone calls , fast to take our money and extremely slow in service.The longest I have ever waited for glasses. Run don't walk to any other eye care center . The only person to be any help was Nick, but the company had nothing to back up his service .
