It seemed a bit disorganized and the staff were flustered over a patient record being misplaced, causing someone to be there an extra hour... Never have I had an exam take this long from start to finish; I spent a lot of time sitting waiting to see the DR. This is all after my appt was rescheduled two days prior - they say they called me and left a message, but I have no missed calls or messages from them. I would make sure that if you come here, make sure you plan a little extra time.

He is truly trying to make things right but I did not change my review immediately. I wanted to make sure that they were actually making these changes at the employee level, not just talking about them. I've seen some better courtesy from their employees and I think some of my concerns have been addressed. Not sure I'd say they are four or five starts yet, but they are better and maybe will get there if they continue to work to change their culture a bit. Worth a look if you need eyeglasses and can afford a higher price for better service than the big box stores, or if you have insurance they take here.

He asked me to surrender my glasses back to him that I am physically wearing because, shocker, I'm not able to see clearly without corrective lenses. I refused, why would I refund the glasses off my face with no other way to see? Joe proceeds to tell me to leave or he will call the cops. I am no thief. I had another set of glasses I paid for that he refused to give me as well and told me to wait for someone else as he got other customers and talked about me to them. I stayed to resolve the issue. He refused, but the two other wonderful employees helped me and made sure I was okay. So thank you to those two other employees, and Joe... move out of your moms basement already.

Yesterday I had a bit of an eye emergency. I've been dealing with a stye since last week and it got…read moreworse over the weekend (it grossed me out). My eye was swollen, my vision started to become blurry, and it was uncomfortable. I called Atlantic Eye Institute to see if they could fit me in for a same day appointment. I was NOT holding out hope, but when I called I was pleasantly surprised they had something open that afternoon. When I arrived I filled out virtual paperwork, and then waited in the lobby until my name was called. I can't remember the nurse I had, but she was pleasant, asked a bunch of questions regarding the state of my eye, did some observations, and then walked me to an open room. Dr. Diaz came in happy as a clam. Greeted me with a nurse. I told her I was sorry that my eye looked disgusting and she smiled and said these are interesting to us. So that made me feel somewhat better. After looking at my eye, she decided to drain the stye, due to the size, the discomfort I was having. It didn't hurt, she prescribed me a steroid antibiotic cream, and made me a follow up appointment and I was on my way. I was happy and grateful they could fit me in on the same day, because I was miserable before I came in.

From the staff person who took the call, to Sarah, the nurse, to Dr. Carly Hannah was a wonderful experience!! Everyone was so caring, welcoming, efficient and professional!! He told me what I needed, and how I'd be able to see much better to drive. of course, insurance didn't pay for it, so I was out well over $200. The new glasses order took almost 5 weeks to come in! I've worn glasses for 50 years and it never took more than 2 weeks for a new pair, until now! so now with the second pair the young man sold me on, I can't even see the lines on the road! I was sure it must have been the wrong prescription, but went back today to have them checked, and the optician had them made with just distance vision! absolutely NOT what I wanted! so, today's optician Nico said the only solution was to remake the glasses with entire prescription for progressives. so, now I'm out another $171.00!
