Pretty good and thorough service compared to what I dealt with at Americas Best which should be called Americas Worst. MyEyeDr is well organized , clean professional. A world of difference . I found the Dr who did my eye exam to be extremely thorough and patient. The exam considered lifestyle as well as the technical testing. I also interacted with 4 employees in the store and each was super friendly and thorough and I really enjoyed the assistance from each one. Very very good service. There are a lot of nice frame selections in store. There were a lot of sunglasses options which confused me but apparently clear lens can be put in the frames ( I'm a newbie ). They sell Alain Mikli, Tom Ford, Givenchy, Michael Kors, Vera Bradley , Oliver Peoples to name a few. There are also many lower priced options. They also have really good 30 day policy that allows return of you are not happy with your new glasses. I didn't like the "building" the glasses phase. This is where you customize lenses . Again I'm a newbie but each piece involves a cost and I was not clear on the cost until I got the printout sheet which showed all. There should be a question and verification of each phase and level that you want. Such as what type of coating do you want on lens, transition, Uv protection etc. All in all I really like this business and I will return. Quick update: I actually took advantage of the 30 day return and went back and got another pair of glasses. I didn't like the pair that I originally chose. The new pair came in a week and I love them !!! Quick replacement and I added transition - there were no issues and minimal questions. I had a really disappointing experience with my contact lens order. The initial lenses I received were blurry, so I had to go back for an adjustment--specifically for my right eye. That was over a month ago. Since then, I've called multiple times to follow up, and each time I'm either left on hold for a long time or told that the order is being placed. As of today, I still have not received my contacts. I paid over $300, and at this point I don't have a product I can use. The lack of communication and follow-through has been extremely frustrating. The front-end staff are very friendly and professional. I was immediately greeted upon entering. Usually, my experiences with this location in prior years have been great. However, my recent visit wasn't so pleasing when it came to the optometrist (Dr. Vaxmonsky) who saw me. He was very sarcastic, and when I asked for his opinion concerning certain things, and especially since this is his area of expertise, his responses were beyond appalling to me. I've been coming to this location for years and always had a pleasant experience up until now. The wait for assistance is a headache. The staff needs training. They blame patients for their mistakes. They charge you for things they forgot to charge you for in the past. Arlene needs to be retrained. They're very condescending & sarcastic when talking to patients. The manager Lauren was supposed to call me to discuss my concerns, no call! They called me during my personal time to accuse me of returning glasses with a scratch on them, lecturing me as if I was not a loyal customer. No one seems to fully understand their job there. One of the worst experiences I have ever had. Avoid this place at all costs. Was running late the day of and called the Eye Doctor said it would be fine to come on in. Upon arrival was told you're going to have to reschedule. After pressing a bit they did take my appointment only to complain during the exam about being late. I wish I would have left and not pressed. Because now it has been more than 4 weeks, and I still do not have a prescription for the contacts. I had already had an eye exam just needed contact exam but they would not do one without the other. No one knows where the trial pair are. No one knows what the prescription was and now I am out of both my yearly allowed visit and the money I paid for contact exam out of pocket. Called billing department was promised 3 times a call back with no return call. Finally I said I will wait until the call center supervisor is available...no matter how long. Finally got someone on the phone with some empathy and concern for what is happening. I wish I never walked in to this business. If you are wise you will heed this warning. GO ANYWHERE BUT MY EYE DOCTOR!!!! read more

Dr. Shruti Patel is fantastic and deserves five stars. The office, however, is a nightmare. When I was there, I said I would likely be interested in purchasing glasses at the office depending on the price. Dr. Patel told me the glasses prescription would be different than the contact prescription due to astigmatism and then she let the clerk selling the glasses know that as well. He wrote the prescription she told him down and told me to look around. I asked about cost first. Some quick calculations and I could not afford purchasing glasses that day (no worries, seeing isn't a necessity thanks insurance company!!!) and I asked for my PD to get glasses online. It's not my first time ordering glasses. The attitude and negative judgement I received was absolutely astonishing. I can't afford glasses there! I don't have the money! It's not going to materialize before the end of the appointment. What am I supposed to do, not see? They STILL will not release that "secret" prescription to me. I've been asking and emailing for WEEKS. I don't get what they want me to do? Why won't they give me my prescription? I can't afford their glasses, so I just don't get to see? These guys are great. There was no wait when I went, they handled my eye exam and gave some great recommendations on frames for both myself and my girlfriend. We will definitely be coming back for a second pair, maybe some sunglasses. It helps to have vision insurance. Definitely get on that if you don't. If you are a healthcare provider (and their family) especially caring for COVID-19 patients, don't go there. They will not accept you. My husband and I were scheduled to be seen at this My eye dr branch. We drove for 40 mins for this appt, and when we got there, my husband was asked questions (screening questions), and when they found out that my husbnad is a physician who works directly with COVID patients, we were turned away. Wanted us to reschedule, however what's the point of rescheduling, when nothing is going to change. My husband is still going to work as a hospital physician and i will be working as a physical therapist. So yeah, save yourself a trip, if you are a healthcare worker, find another place to have your eyes checked. read more

Today was my first time at this particular location, and the staff was extremely helpful. My GF and I swung by the shop last night to try some frames on and see what I wanted to get. The gentleman working then, was very helpful in getting me set up with an appointment today (Saturday) to see the doctor and leaving a note for the staff to try and rush my glasses. Today, everybody knew what was going on and that I need the glasses as soon as possible. Altogether a great experience for a very mundane and unexciting event! read more

Scheduled an online appointment, and was not advised until arrival that the insurance wasn't accepted. The office had ample time to provide this information but did not make any attempt to do so. Won't buy from here anymore even though I love my frames. The quality of professionalism is poor. I went here because of my insurance and it just wasn't worth it. My glasses were so expensive even with my insurance. I think they must hike everything up so insurance doesn't affect them. This is the first and last time I will use this company. The frames I purchased were fragile and I have never been completely happy with the fit. I never felt that the staff employed were experienced or knowledgeable about fit or product. I am used to Optical Center where the staff actually works with you and knows how to fit a pair of glasses. read more

After visiting My Eye Dr. in Columbia, MD for many years I had to switch to another location. It is an understatement to say that I was beyond pleased with the service. One of, if not, the best Doctor's (of any kind) visit I have ever experienced. The staff is very friendly, kind, and helpful. Dr. Patel performed the eye check-up very smoothly and explained everything she was doing or looking at. Aleksandra was very helpful in selecting a frame for glasses and was kind enough to give a discount as well. To top it all off I was offered my pick of sunglasses off the rack free of charge. The staff was very professional--from the from the front desk to the optometrist. Dr. Patel explained everything to me and answered all of my questions. The selection of frames are vast. The staff is very patient and offered many options that proved to work best for my eyewear preference. My employer's vision care plan absorbed the much of the cost of the lenses and covered my prescription sunglasses. I used the Living Social voucher for my eyeglasses (my vision plan absorbed some of the cost of the lenses). The voucher only covers the frames, there are so many other charges that are applied to the purchase that you will likely pay at least the value of the voucher (my balance was $400). While the total cost of glasses are a bit pricey, I got exactly what I wanted and the service was great. Don't forget to ask about discount of frames and sunglasses (they have in-house discounts). A fantastic place to get your eyes checked and my first pleasant experience EVER!!! I got an AMAZING deal with my contacts and the staff and doctor were absolutely fabulous! They all were so helpful made me so comfortable. They really seemed like they cared about the customer an not many eye places do. The prices were fair for glasses as well! This is not walmart or SAMs club... The prices are actually lower than quite a few other places across numerous sates. The glasses were out in the open with plenty of mirrors for viewing. While picking up my contacts my husband started looking and found a few pair and was able to schedule and appt right then for the day he wanted. Right as I walked in the store, I was greeted right away and told that someone would be with me momentarily. I had my preliminary testing done and then I was seen by the Optometrist, Dr. Patel. She was absolutely wonderful, very thorough with my exam and took the time going over my history and answering all my questions. The staff was extremely helpful in selecting my frames. They spent time with me looking through all the glasses to make sure I got the exact style which fit my face. Neil was the wonderful gentleman who assisted me and he was exceptional; very knowledgeable, professional and offered great advice. This store has the most expensive frames I have ever seen out of all of the optical shops I have visited. They are not even very nice. The cheapest frames I found were $130. The most expensive were over $1,100. The majority were in the $250-$550 range. They lock up the frames so it is not easy to browse and try on options. You have to get a sales associate to trail you around the store to be able to try anything on, which is very inconvenient. Lenses are also expensive, the cheapest, no-frills plastic being $99. The polycarbonates with anti glare ran up to $224. They also are a bit pushy about getting retinal photos done with the exam, and guess what?... more money. I left with the feeling that I was being bled for cash, despite the fact that I went in with a pretty hefty coupon. Next time I will visit a more customer and budget-friendly store or just buy online. read more

These people have no clue what they are doing in scheduling. The doctor is terrific, but my wife made an appointment at 10:15 on a Saturday and we figured it would take about an hour for the appointment so I took my 2 year old daughter to shop at Trader Joe's. After 45 minutes of shopping, my wife was still not seen by the doctor at 11:00. When I asked how much longer I was told, "the doctor is busy". This was from the GM. When I asked how long appointments are scheduled for he said every 15 minutes, and that early in the morning they were already an hour behind. My wife arrived at 10:00 for her appointment and we finally were released for our internal hell around 12:15pm. This is not the first time we have had to wait an absurd amount of time here. I would recommend going ANYWHERE ELSE. We will not be going here any longer and I wish more than a stupid smile with a half-baked apology is what I could get for our trouble. For the record our 2 year old acted pretty good, but I wanted her to go ape to show them of the inconvenience. THEY NEED TO OVERHAUL THE SCHEDULING SYSTEM CLEARLY. read more
