I went to Mynt a few years ago and I had a wonderful time. Last night a group of us decided to go out. Mynt is honestly one of the best clubs in Miami. My cousin got a deep cut on her knee, she approached the bathroom attendant and immediately a few of the staff came to help. They brought her to a private room and took really good care of her cut. We were concerned she was going to need stitches but it seemed as if one of the managers or staff was a nurse! The way the situation was handled was very professional. It was a cool seat, considering I didn't have to leave the area much or fight the crowd for a drink at the bar- so I can't elaborate on that as a part of my experience. My friends and I really enjoyed our time at Mynt we went two nights in a row! We actually went to Mynt on Friday and then Liv on Saturday and we were so bored at Liv we all agreed to go back to Mynt. Once we were there at times it felt a bit difficult to dance since most of the space is dedicated to bottle service and we were just getting drinks at the bar. But we spent most of the time moving around the club and finding different places to dance. My girl friends had a blast and I will be sure to go back next time I have friends visiting. I am NOT one of those people that likes to bash places. I am also not one of those people that likes to give bad reviews because "the bouncer didn't let me in". But this was an unusual circumstance of epic proportions, and I have never been treated so disrespectfully (or made to feel so UNSAFE) in my life. This particular instance, however-was my boyfriend's 30th birthday to boot. A group of 3 guys and 3 girls were all together. At one point I realized I left my wallet in the hotel room and Ubered back to get it (stupidly) by myself, telling everyone I would meet them there, never anticipating a problem as I was essentially sober. Given the fact that I was supposed to be the babysitter of the group, I didn't see any issues. I got back to the door of the club around 12:15, text my friends to have them poke their heads out to come get me. I get screamed at by the doorman for standing near the rope, even though I'm waiting patiently and he continues to let people in ahead of me. I politely ask him to let me in since my 6 friends have been here for 30 minutes-and they will come out to prove it. NOPE, he tells me to back up. I'm being completely reasonable, seeing as I'm standing outside ALONE of a place I don't know and I am supposed to be spending the night with my friends and BF. Fast forward 2 hours-and still nothing. I gave up at this point. After a while my polite demeanor turned to frustration and then fury as I tried everything because there is NO reason in the world to keep a single woman outside of somewhere ALONE. This is unsafe and inexcusable. I understand some of the reasons for keeping people out of clubs. I do. But that one is something I won't be okay with. I ended up going home, again, by myself-and that's not something any girl should have to endure. To me the sparkly floor and black lights reminded me of going to Laser tag as a kid...just a big mess, like a new year's party that didn't get cleaned up. Service is great at the bar though. Our bartender made us a good strong drink and friendly too (add 2 Stars here) So I came here for the Batucada Carnaval Event....Brazilian Dancers showed up for about 5 minutes. In the VIP tables were the typical d-bags trying hard to look "cool" and the desperate chicks doing whatever they could to snag a drink from them. I found this amusing and that pretty much allowed for time to pass. This place is re-tarded and made me feel like I was at some nightclub made up completely of the cast of the "Jersey Shore" show. I didn't see all the hot girls people are talking about, and all the guys were incredibly greasy (not that I'm looking since I'm taken, but one notices these things...). The music was also sub-par. Even if it had been good and I had wanted to dance, I couldn't have because the setup was so ridiculous - tables in the middle and on the sides, not really anywhere to let loose. Not when I was in my 20s and certainly not today at almost 40. I came here with a group of friends because we wanted to dance and she knew somebody who knew somebody. The drinks weren't that great and overpriced, but that price is standard for the area. The staff was ok for the most part. The bouncers are bouncers and not your friends.
