Had a late breakfast mid-week. Got seated right away, coffee, tea came very quickly. Nice breakfast menu; I tried the Myrtie omelet with my choice of add-ins (Swiss cheese, broccoli, mushrooms) + hash browns + biscuits + gravy; hubs has 2 eggs + bacon + hash browns + toast All came quickly and hot. Went in for lunch and witnessed an elderly (Golden Girl looking) hostess be totally rude to a beautiful family. The hostess made a smart-alic remark and never bothered to aplogize to the wonderful mother whose darling children were with her. Some people have a sense of entitlement and ego they and think can't be touched. This hostess was dispicable! Plain and simple sure as shootin'. What's even more pathetic is that the hostess didn't even care. I hope Management reads this because I know the Manager on duty was aware of what happened. If you permit it you promote it. Don't permit this hostess to act and behave like this or you may have a larger problem. To the young family that had to endure this. Thank you for being mature. The best place to eat in Eureka Springs! We came for breakfast and lunch and it was sooooo good! Sorry didn't get pics but they looked just like the others. Breakfast I ordered Myrtis's omelet and 2 stack pancakes. The cakes are THICK and soak up all the butter and syrup to ultimate yumminess! My honey got the all American with the sausage Pattie's and biscuits and gravy. All great! We took one of their cinnamon rolls to go and heated up for dessert and it was so good with the thick icing on top. Lunch I got the chicken strips w mashed potatoes plus the salad bar ( had the tomato bisque soup) all items were fresh and crispy. Definitely a must! read more

This place save your money and go somewhere else. This is 100% one of those restaurants that needs Robert Irvine from Restaurants Impossible. We started by waiting in the dark, dungy decor from the 70's for an hour for our food, not cool, we were a party of 3 adults and 2 kids. The only positive note is their salad bar was good which held us over for our meals. We finally get our meals and my friends grilled cheese, for $5.99, was the smallest slice of sandwich bread with a piece of fake cheese I've ever seen! Not even on a kids plate at other places, I mean we deserve Texas toast at least! (Haha, but true!) But my sandwich, uh. I took one bite of my grilled ham and cheese and immediately didn't feel my ham tasted right. I looked at the ham and it had that rainbow sheen on it. That doesn't mean it's bad but I just didn't feel good about it after one bite and sent it back. Pretty sure the Mac and Cheese is from a powder mix, luckily the 7 year old of the group doesn't have high standards LOL Ending with my final conclusion, if your into what appears to be completely processed, boxed and frozen foods, this is your place! read more

Misty was our waitress - 2 days in a row. She is AWESOME! She remembered what we had to drink the previous day. On the second day I ordered tea- oh, ok. Not water this time. Wow! We were a table of 5 and I'm sure she had many customers between our visits. Although we were memorable because i ran into my sister-in-law there after 9 years of not seeing her. She lives in Florida, we-in Texas and this was ARkansas and we decided to go to this town less than a week ago and to this cafe only an hour at most before the encounter! We were told this was "the best cafe in town!" Famous for their fried chicken and ever changing muffins. Walking in the overwhelming scent of melted candle wax fragrance that was big in the early 2000's. It's like walking into your aunt Jeans house who hasn't decorated in 50 years and sells Scentsy on the side. Needing to use the restroom first I realized there is a handicap one upstairs while the regular ones are downstairs. Mind you these aren't regular stairs; these are floral designed death traps!! I'm pretty sure the pyramid steps aren't this steep!!! Small steep steps little paths and hand rails to smash your skull in to. If you have a small child, a bit of weight, hip issues or are scared of heights DO NOT USE THESE STEPS!!! Anyway onto Dinner; I got their "world famous chicken." It was as bland as boiled water. My kids mac and cheese was the knock off kind. The only thing decent was the muffin which was some kind of mystery berry I couldn't name and neither could our waitress. Best fried chicken I've ever had in my life. And I was born before you and lived in the south ----Memphis, Atlanta, Birmingham, NWa. Etc. And the pancakes are REALLY good too. There's a mid level grocery store in East Memphis. It's a bit cheaper than the big ones and the only reason folks in the area go to it ---xcept for bargain hunters---- is cause they have some local women cooking the best fried chicken in Memphis. And those ladies know how to cook fried chicken. Myrtie Mays is better, much better. My friend is the Sou chef at one of the two biggest hotels in town. And he's a Dern good cook.
