Finding a barbershop in the area with actually experienced and detailed barbers has been quite the challenge until I found Mysterieux. I went through probably 4 really poor cuts before finally finding this spot and never looking back. The shop itself is chic and vibey, great atmosphere. and I've had cuts from multiple barbers there, but Brandon is my guy now: Solid detail-oriented cuts every time and a great conversationalist. By the second cut he had my flow completely figured out, and it's been consistent and sharp every time since. I scheduled an appointment with Michael Chen for a maintenance cut for long straight hair. He frequently checked in and happily explained his thought process anytime I asked. I felt comfortable trusting him with my hair since he knew his craft well enough to explain it simply and kept the emphasis of his techniques on keeping my hair length. I was coming up to the area and needed a haircut so just out of curiosity, I looked to see if Rod was available, and he was! Since my flight came in at noon, I booked a 2 pm appointment. Then I discovered that he moved locations and is now in San Pedro Square, which is turning into an amazing hub of businesses, restaurants, and event spaces. He remembered me when I walked up, and went to work. It was great to hear the transformation from the small space to this new larger industrial space with more chairs, and new barbers! A New Barbershop in downtown - my barber recently relocated here and they had just had a grand opening as well. It's a very minimalistic barbershop, love the design of the place. There's a parking garage across from the place and it's free for 1.5 hours! There's roughly 6-8 barber chairs in here, ample space, and 2 hair wash stations in the back. Amazing work done by Michael. This was my first time going to a real barber shop, before I'd just go to where was the cheapest to get my hair cut. Because of this, I did not know what kind of style I should ask for. I left it all up in Michael's hands and he was able to completely transform me. He picked a style which would fit my head shape and executed it amazingly. During the cut, I could feel the amount of detail and work he was putting in. He was not cutting just to cut. Afterwards, he even showed me how to style my hair and recommend products, showing me where to get them.
