Phuong has been my stylist for nearly half a decade now. He's professional, consistent, and courteous. I always get a fade and a wash every ten days to stay crisp and clean. For as long as I've been coming to TRND, I've never had a bad haircut by Phuong. As proof, I'm literally the Yelp Duke of this place with over 50 confirmed check-ins at the time of this review. Booking is easy through Vagaro on both the app and website. It takes like 30 seconds max. There's almost always availability with the amount of staff they have -- even by Phuong. I schedule my bookings the day before and sometimes the day-of. If they're fully booked, they'll take you as a walk-in if you're willing to wait. My brother came on a few occasions urgently without an appointment and Phuong still took him in without hesitation. I don't understand how some of y'all don't know how to log on and check for availability. I promise you it's faster than calling in. I recommend TRND to all my friends and family here. I don't care to gatekeep cuz I want them to stay in business forever. People take for granted how hard it is to find a reliable and consistent barber at an affordable price. Parking can be a bit rough sometimes during traffic hours, but I tend to usually find a spot a block or two down. There's also a free parking lot down the road at less than a 3 min walk. I've been a repeat customer with TRND for nearly 3 years now. After my previous barber moved, I still remember trying multiple salons in the area and being unsatisfied until I came across this shop. The staff is consistently professional and exceptionally friendly. It's rare to find a salon where you're greeted so warmly when walking in or calling to make an appointment. Customers are often offered water or coffee while they wait, and the website makes online appointments easy to schedule. The whole shop is always very clean. Andrew is a fantastic barber with very strong attention to detail. He has been cutting my hair for over half a year now and takes his time to ensure each haircut is perfect - doing multiple passes to catch any straggling tall hairs and carefully executing the fades. TRND is the place for the entire family. The stylists are amazing. I've seen huge diversity in their skills. The place is clean and well kept. But the thing that you don't always get in a salon is a family like atmosphere. My 94 year old grandma is treated like a princess. The owner rolled out the red carpet, and they all treat her like she's their own grandma. My 9 year old wanted color. They did a fabulous job with an ombré effect. She was thrilled! I do not recommend this place. My boyfriend has been here a few times and Phuong cuts his hair. He never used to not follow instructions given by client, today my boyfriend went to get a hair cut. He wanted to get a fade on the sides and a SLIGHT trim on the top. Phuong proceeded to ignore that and cut his hair so short on the top that now he is forced to wear it only towards one side. After not being satisfied with doing that he proceeded to cut his beard after he had strictly told him not to. He left my boyfriend's neck which is extremely sensitive all red and swollen. This is the reason that my boyfriend does not get his beard cut anywhere. Beyond that he couldn't even line it properly, if you're going to go against a customers wishes the least you can do is do the service properly. Love this salon! I came here with my friend to wash and straighten our hair and they did AMAZING! The Salon is sooo clean and everyone is so nice! They put so much time and effort into washing our hair. It felt so amazing. They didn't just wash it once and call it a day no they took the time to wash your hair very well they dry your hair very nicely before they put any heat on it. I've had so many issues with other salons that they just do one round of shampoo, barely scrub it off and not even even dry your hair properly and then put a flat iron over it and damage your hair BUT this salon put the time and effort into every single client no matter how busy they are and I love that about them. One of my coworkers got a haircut from this place and I asked for more details to swing by. Booked my appointment yesterday online to come in today and I was pleasantly surprised at how friendly the staff was here. I booked my appointment with Phuong, who was super friendly and super welcoming. I told him what I wanted and he recommended some haircut suggestions and I went with it. He gave me a taper, fade, line up, lined my beard up and even trimmed my eyebrows a little as well. He's very fast and precise with his cuts, and I was very happy with the results. He was also training some new employees while I was there as well, which was no problem to me. Pricing wasn't bad either and I love the fact that they take cards here. I honestly went with the highest tip option when tipping because I've had so many bad experiences in the past with other barbers but man, I think this might be my go-to from now on! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! pt.1 If I could give this salon negative reviews I would. This will be a long post so I'm sorry in advance ! On June 13, 2025, I contacted TRND Salon to inquire about getting my hair dyed in a specific style -- blonde with smokey black tips. I spoke with Phuong over the phone and, after clarifying what I wanted, he confirmed he could achieve the look. He invited me in for a consultation at 2 PM, where he would assess my hair and provide a quote. When I arrived at the salon, I showed Phuong two reference photos of the style I wanted -- one in blonde, one in red -- and told him I preferred the blonde version but would be okay with red if necessary. After examining my hair and learning that it had only been professionally dyed once nine months ago, Phuong assured me he could do the blonde smokey tip style that same day. He quoted $300 for the full service, but said payment had to be made upfront. I paid via Zelle. In hindsight, being asked to pay in full before any work had begun should have been a red flag. After the payment was processed, I waited while Phuong worked with other clients. Eventually, he started the bleaching process but quickly passed me off to a staff member with minimal guidance. From that point forward, I watched him rotate between multiple clients, with his staff left to handle mine without much supervision -- a second red flag. After my hair was bleached, I was left unattended for over 30 minutes. No one checked on me until I flagged down a staff member. Once the foils were removed, I could see that my hair had processed unevenly: it was a patchy yellow with black spots and visible roots. I immediately voiced my concern, but was told it would be reassessed after washing. After the wash, it was clear the bleach hadn't taken well. Phuong proposed bleaching only the dark spots again and toning the hair afterward. I asked if that would be safe, and he said yes. Minutes into the second bleaching session, my scalp began to burn. I reported this immediately, but was told it was "normal itching." I clarified that it was burning, not itching, and was finally taken to rinse out the bleach. At this point, my hair looked dry, brittle, and uneven in tone. I expressed my concern again, but was told "the process isn't done yet." Phuong then recommended switching to the red smokey tip style instead, saying it would work better now that the hair had been lightened. I asked to see the red he had in mind -- it was more orange than red. I pointed to a deeper red tone I preferred, and he agreed to use it. He applied the color, and at first it seemed okay. I hoped the result might still work. But after another rinse and return to the chair, I saw that the red was far too light -- and the style still wasn't done. The team proceeded to dye the tips black, then washed my hair a third time. After drying and styling, the final result was deeply disappointing. The color was uneven, the tips were not blended or "smokey" at all, and the overall look was nothing like the reference photos I had provided. My hair was visibly damaged, and although Phuong originally said he wouldn't cut it to preserve length, it was clear he had trimmed it to remove some of the damage. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, Phuong told me it was "not nice" to say negative things because it could hurt his staff's feelings -- an inappropriate response considering I had paid $300 and spent six hours in the chair for a result I didn't ask for. He insisted the color was beautiful and claimed the photos I had shown were "photoshopped," which is why the outcome didn't match. He told me the color would fade over time and "look better" after a few washes -- which felt like a dismissal rather than a solution. I left the salon feeling defeated, frustrated, and honestly heartbroken. I had trusted a professional with my hair and paid in full for a style that was not delivered. He dismissed my concerns, saying that's how they do business. I left within five minutes because I didn't feel comfortable staying in that environment. Original Review: I had a very disappointing experience at this salon. I went in specifically for a steps and layers haircut, but Phuong himself admitted that he only did a "very basic layers" cut. The entire appointment felt rushed and chaotic. I was shuffled between four different chairs and two stylists, with most of the time spent just blow-drying my hair for no clear reason (only 2-3 minutes of actual haircut), which left a burning sensation in my scalp. At one point, I was literally standing in the middle of the salon while Phuong tried to fix uneven sections, and I still left unsure if my hair was even. Overall, the experience was disorganized, the result didn't match what I requested, and it wasn't worth the price ($70 when the display board on the wall clearly stated $60 for women haircut + wash + styling). When I went to my appointment, the shop's owner, Phuong, cut my hair. About 30 minutes after, the police showed up. I went in for a cut, wash, and blowout with curls, but the entire experience was extremely disappointing. Phuong rushed through the appointment and was very rough, yanking my hair throughout. While blow-drying, he wasn't paying attention and burned my scalp, and despite me asking him to be gentler, he repeatedly brushed against my face. During the haircut, he initially showed me that he would only trim about half an inch, which I agreed to, but then proceeded to cut off about an inch and a half. By the end, I told my friend how dissatisfied I was with the service. When she brought this up to him, he became aggressive. I asked for balayage and this is what I got. No blending of any kind. I basically got cheap highlights. You talk to Phuong, but his other assistant does all the bleaching and then he does the color. I am not sure if there was any communication between him and his assistant about what I wanted. Very poor job. On top of that they use very poor quality things and color seeped through my shirt and ruined my shirt. The towel they wrapped my neck with looked like a rag with a bunch of holes.
