Tools are not sanitized! I never get a pedicure in fear of tools not being cleaned and sanitized properly. I should have stuck with my gut feeling but I went here for a girls day and got a mani/pedi. Friendly, warm! Mystic Nails has the nicest staff. My students recommended I come here, and I'm glad I took them up on their recommendation. For my nails, I got the acrylic dip for the first time. It has lasted three weeks and could have gone another. My pedicure, too, was adorable with the little flower designs. Now I'm back for the second time and everyone remembers me. :-) Also, I brought my daughter in and they were really sweet with her and even painted her nails -- first time! At first everything was great. My pedicure was great but they did dip on my nails and they just don't look finished with a bunch of build up underneath. She also added a fake nail without me asking for one because one was short and then made it fatter and lol her than the rest. She kept arguing with me that it's my fault cause my nail was so short. I came back after being notified that they were under new management. I really, really wanted to like this place. Jennifer did my nails after requesting for white tips and gel. She was really nice and took her time. However, within 4 days, while I was on vacation, the nails started to lift (see attached photos). I haven't done anything strenuous to them or even went swimming yet for that matter. By the following week I was buying nail glue to keep my tips intact. I was really disappointed. I was referred to this salon by a stranger who's nails I admired. This place wasn't too busy and I I didn't have to wait very long for my service (I did make an appointment beforehand, but I think doing so was pretty pointless). I received a gel pedicure and to be honest, this was probably the neatest any nail tech has ever done my nails. EVER. The one pitfall of the experience was the massage chair I sat in has no cushioning whatsoever; my butt hurt the entire time and my legs kept falling asleep. I was so happy to return to Mystic Nails after a long three month hiatus! They have instituted safety precautions and I felt very comfortable. This place was great! I took my mom there for her birthday last weekend and we both got deluxe pedicures ($35/each). We set appointments but they were completely packed when we got there so they really took their time on our nails and massages as soon as they were able. The pedicures + massages took about an hour for the deluxe package. They were nice and did a great job. The place was clean, the techs themselves were clean and used new tools. I don't recommend this salon!! The older woman who always answers the phone is always rude and gets upset if you don't pay in cash. A man by the name of Danny gave me a pedicure and now I've been dealing with ingrown toe nails from the way he cut my nails. Mystic Nails is my mom and my go-to for pedicures. Try to call before walking in, since they're usually pretty busy, but they usually make an effort to accommodate! As an example, we came in tonight at 6:30, they close at 7 pm but they said they could squeeze us in and we were not rushed or given lower quality treatment :) Good nail color selection, comfortable chairs and very detailed technicians! I was unhappy with a full set I received somewhere else yesterday. From the manner in which my nails were done I opted to just go somewhere else to have them fixed. I called Mystic Nails, explained my situation and was told to come in. Upon arrival they had me sit at table one to wait on the nail tech. Two or three minutes later the nail tech returned from lunch, sat down in front of me and asked if I wanted a new full set. The assistant said "She want skinny square.". I told her if she could reshape them I'd pay the cost of a new set but if not a new set would be fine and asked that they'd be removed by acetone soak since they were still sensitive from my old set being removed yesterday. She said ok and went to cut my nails down as is standard. The problem is my nail bed grows high to the very tips of my fingers. When she went to cut I felt her hit my nail bed so I pulled back and explained. She shook her head and said "You need to go somewhere else.". I asked "Because you almost cut me and I pulled away? I don't understand.". She said "You want to soak and it's going to take too long, you leave, you go somewhere else.". I politely got up and left. I was mortified, embarrassed and humiliated. I paid $80 yesterday & was willing to pay whatever to simply be happy with my nails and I was shunned. The assistant looked horrified by the nail tech's reaction and response. The first time I went in to get gel Kami (sorry if spelled wrong) suggested dip gel. I wasn't sure but the second time I went in I decided to try it. LET ME TELL YOU, gel dip is the best. I am so happy with the recommendation. I have had it done at other places and there is just something about Mystic Nails. My nails last for 3-4 weeks. Everyone is so nice, and the customers rave about the place while getting their nails done. I recommend this place to everyone. The only issue I have is that they are so popular, and I have waited over 30 minutes before getting my nails done, even when I made an appointment. The place was clean and not a long wait. Problem was when I sat down the guy asked me something and pointed to the lady sitting next to me. I couldn't understand him but sign on wall said deluxe pedicure 25 I think. I said ya sure I guess. I wanted gel polish on my toes. I got a pedicure that had very little foot and leg massage and less services than other salons offer. Then the gal starts doing my nails. I show her a picture of what I had seen on their Yelp reviews and said that was what I wanted. While she was doing my nails she said it would be something ridiculous like 50 for a fill due to type of polish I wanted then she asked if I knew my pedicure was also 50? I said it wasn't explained to me ahead of time and that it didn't help that I couldn't understand what the man who did my pedicure was saying. She told me for a pedi and a fill it was ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS. What the f&$#!! I looked at her shocked and said WOW. That is ridiculous and not worth the price at all. I used to go to this salon because of its convenient location. My manicures here were always just ok ($10 for a manicure and $3 for french tips). The manicurists seem overbooked and often rush. The place itself is dingy. Although I have never had a spa pedicure here, the chairs look gross. Oh and the nail polish they use is cheap. I suggest you go to Good Nails on the corner of Columbus and Rose. They do a fantastic job there. Thanks to them, I will never return to Mystic Nails! read more

After a couple sour experiences at nail salons in Benicia, I chose to give this place a try. Both experiences were with walk in/ no appointment. Visit 1 - quick to be seated, glitter tip gel set. Absolutely perfect, extremely friendly staff, a little pricy ( $55 ), but worth it. No beaks or lifts in the nails. Visit 2 - a little wait, gel set fill, top color change, and pedi, with add on calus remover. ($50). Great service, still very friendly staff. Will I come back? You betcha. read more

Went here kind of on a whim for my very first pedicure. They took us right away without an appointment. The whole experience was so relaxing - the guy I had took great care of me and joked around with me because I had "virgin toes." Good value for the money! The only thing I'll say is that luckily I had an experienced person with me because I would have had no clue what the routine was otherwise. I am pleasantly surprised! I have tried every single nail salon in Vallejo and Benicia in my lifetime and this one is not as bad as the reviews stated. This, of course, was just MY experience. After paying $45 for pedicures that were nothing special, for $20 this place did just as good of a job. Now, we are not talking luxury and sparkles here but they have brand new pedi chairs, carry Zoya brand nail polish (awesome) and the place is squeaky clean. The staff are also very professional and aren't clucking away loudly as with other places so you aren't second guessing if you waxed the stache or contemplating reconstructive foot surgery because YOU know they're talking about your crooked toe. I have ONLY tried their pedis here so I cannot rate their full sets or manis but from what I've heard, they do a great job. This is a very small place with 5 pedicure chairs and 2 nail stations so definitely do call in advance to inquire on availability. OVERALL: Great staff, clean, no rushed jobs and a great value. This is my new spot. =) read more
