Unfortunately, I returned to mystique on Saturday 4/25 assuming the vibe would have been the same as it was the weekend but it was not. I attempted to request a song from the DJ and he said that I needed to PAY for a song request! I have never been to a bar or lounge where the DJ is requesting money in order to play a particular song he could've politely declined, but instead asking for money. If you want to pay $40 for a single basic hookah and nothing else, when the menu says that hookah is $23 then go here. Either they're playing me personally for some reason or they stay playing everyone. That menu has been a lie for a while. Not the first time. Been going here for years but now I hesitate or would rather not unless I'm feening feening for hookah bc originally the hookah was $20-$25 as expected but then out of nowhere the bill started increasing out of nowhere with no change on the menu always deceiving me. They just out of nowhere started adding mad services fees and say it's at a discount. You expect this, then get that but what are you really supposed to do? Walk out on them or rob for lying? I seen pple walk out on them before, I see why. They don't even let you know that menu is wrong. They just wait to bring ur bill that's $20 more than what it would've and should've been and most pple just gonna pay that like fine, whatever and fold. Theyre gonna act like they don't know what ur talking about if you ask about it or act like you should already know the higher price they actually charge (without service fees and such). If I knew the actual price, I would've went somewhere else tbh. Sure, they have letting u bring outside food going for themselves but that coal changing is also lacking. I would rather go to Scorpion nearby or a lounge on Steinway for better hookah for way less and more reliable service if i knew what the truth was about here rather than the falsehood that's displayed. On a good and generous day, I'd give this mystique of today like 2 stars at best to not deny the fact that it could be even worse than it already sucks and the fact that at least the waitress at least checks up on you like a good lil employee. But club price hookah where it's dry and there's no girls I would want, and you don't even know the real price until I see the bill which is different from the menu most deff ain't it. One of the only ones left on Long Island. But it's still the best one. Has been for years. Service is excellent and they know how to make the hookahs so good. It's beautiful inside. It's good for large parties or small. They even have a more private VIP type section. I need to make it a point to go more offer because everytime I go I love it even more. Had a great night this past Friday at Mystique Hookah Lounge in the Nassau. When we first walked in we were going to sit inside but it had been a beautiful night out and we were asked if we would like to sit outside. Outside happens to be really nice warm nicely late and we got to sit inside one of the little glass houses. Very private but you can also still hear the music you can still see what's going on. We thought it with a drink order which sadly our waitress at the time just completely forgot and never bought our drinks back. My dick then went inside and ordered a new round of drinks which ended up being really good! I wish I remembered the waitresses name but I don't know it was a young female can't remember her name. However another waitress noticed that we had an issue and offered to buy the second round on her which was super sweet and super nice of her. We then ordered a hookah piña colada which happened to be a pineapple and coconut. One of my favorites... we got a regular hookah in a pineapple head. We thought we would be too cold for the ice hookah. But that will be for the next time LOL. Ambience was nice. I do wish that the Decour and fabric that's inside the little glass houses was a little more put together a iamb kind of tall I'm about 5'8 and my date was 6'3 and we both kept hitting the curtain/lights that were hanging inside. There was a heater inside but that night had been nice so we actually turned it off. besides our drink order being delayed, we had a good time we ended up seeing friends from school and closing out the hookah lounge. I came here on a Saturday night around 02:45 for some late night drinks and hookah. This was my first time at this establishment and I honestly was very impressed. First off I was informed upon entering that they were closing at 0330 that night despite the fact that website stated that they closed 04:00. Upon being seated I couldn't help but notice the burn marks/holes on the seats. I know that it's a hookah place and that mistakes may have happened however I do think they should have repaired/covered those items especially seeing that as time progresses it will only have the place looking less and less desirable. I moved to this area two year ago and I've been waiting to visit this place. Finally got a chance to go and I'm so sad and disappointed. We walked in and the place was filled with brown gaudy leather couches. We were seated in the Middle of two couples so we asked to be moved. We ordered one hookah and two drinks. The drinks were small and in plastic cups, the hookah was okay but definitely not worth the money. There was absolutely no food to order, not even appetizers so that stopped us from ordering any more drinks. There was a dj but he only started playing good music right before our 2 hours was up. The crowd is odd and there seems to be a few regulars. The guy that greeted us was friendly and a good help, he's the only positive about this place. We paid 75 bucks for one hookah and two small drinks, not worth it at all. There was also an administration fee on the check for $11, no idea what that was for. He ask for our ID with an attitude but we still complied. While the lounge was completely empty, he still denied our request for a better seating and had us sit right by the door squeezed in. I smoke hookah a lot and so do my friends, we've been to plenty of lounges and have never experienced some bullshit like this. It had happened to be one of the coldest days I've ever experienced in NYC history, figured might as well be relaxing instead of getting frostbite outside. From the second I walked in, I was happy to be out of the wind. Little do I know, their heating wasn't working... You would think on the coldest night, that someone on their staff would let you know, but they acted as if nothing was wrong. Mystique Hookah Lounge has a policy that requires you to order more hookah pipes based on how many people you have, two people per hookah pipe. If you have a odd number, they feel that it's right to charge for a "10$ Summer Special" without informing us. On top of that, they would go so far as to charge an automatic gratuity. I'm never one to stiff servers but I would like the option to choose my own tip. Looking over the receipt, I noticed that they also calculated tax on the tip. I had a great time at Mystique. I've only ever done hookah in Astoria, the city, and Israel, so I was skeptical to try a Long Island establishment, but I'd go back. Hookahs are between $15-$20. Their menu is the most eclectic hookah menu I've ever seen. They have everything from simple fruity flavors, to things I have never seen before in my 10 years of smoking hookah, like Skittle flavor - what! Anyway, we got the rose and vanilla mix, which I think was called Sahara. We also got the ice thing, which was different. I'd recommend it. The hookah was really good. It ran out after maybe 45 minutes, and they automatically changed the coal, which made it a bit harsher, but that's the nature of hookah. We also got the green tea, which came in the cutest teapot! I personally loved the atmosphere. They have these gorgeous Middle Eastern paintings, one of which was 3D using peacock feathers. I couldn't stop looking at it. It's really laid-back and chill, yet has an intimate vibe. There are couches and chairs, each of which as a coffee table in front of it. I would recommend it for a friend outing or for a date. One gripe - the mirror in the bathroom was so high on the wall that 5 foot tall me couldn't see myself. Boo. read more

Absolutely horrible service! It took one hour for them to bring out the hookah, not even exaggerating this! There were 4 other tables complaining that they have been waiting as well. The servers did not update us as to why there is a delay with the hookah. When I finally asked, they said that they are making the coals. How does a hookah place not have coal? I went with two friends at 10pm on a Saturday night and it wasn't until around 11pm or so that it started to get pretty crowded. It's decorated nicely with silks and paintings, a laser light on the ceiling and a nice fish tank. There are comfortable couches and chairs to sit in if you're lucky enough to get one- otherwise you'll be sitting on an ottoman. When the place starting filling up with people it got a little claustrophobic and loud. Their hookah menu is large and varied with many flavors to choose from. They also service alcohol and fresh fruit juices. No food served here. Servers at first were pretty attentive and came around to fix the hookah and replace the coals, but as the night wore on they became busier and unable to stop to help us as frequently, which is understandable. It wasn't the best hookah I've had but it was good enough. When the check came I noticed they charged an 18% auto-gratuity. They also charge an extra $5 each to share the hookah. The worst part of the night was when "DJ Ragu" set up and took over the music. He was awful, who wants to hear club music at a hookah lounge? There's no place to dance, so I just don't understand why they brought him there. That tooootally killed the chill hookah vibe for me. I would go here again on a night where there's no DJ. read more

TERRIBLE! Went here with some of my friends while home from college. Thought the night was off to a good start when after paying the $10 cover fee, we were brought a hookah almost immediately after sitting. Thinking it was strange or must be some complementary taste or promotion we got right to it, however after 5 minutes the guy who originally brought the hookah over to us, very rudely, came back and violently ripped the hose out of my hands, cursing, and blaming us for his mistake angrily asking "why the F#*K would we take a hookah we didn't order!?" 15 minutes later our server finally came over to take our drink and smoke orders and after a ridiculous almost 30min wait, we figured our night was finally in motion, however the nightmare only started when we asked for the check. Our original bill totaled over 270$ for my friend and I who decided to split the bill, thinking that was a ludicrous price for the amount of drinks we ordered, a shot and 3 redbull vodkas each, we examined the check further. The first bill charged us for 10 premium mix drinks with extra surcharge for red bull on top, making our well vodka and redbulls cost nearly 13$ which we were charged 4 more times then what we ordered. Calling them "premium drinks" is hilarious because any idiot could tell they were made using cheap well vodka. We had to have our server redo the bill with our correct order and she came back with a bill this time charging us for 4 shots instead of the 2 we ordered. Finally we got the manager involved and his only solution was to charge us 1 less "premium mixed drink" and proceeded beg us to review him on yelp because of his "generous gesture" So here's the yelp review you begged me to do after taking a singular drink off the bill... The service and management is absolutely horrible and I got the feeling overcharging and scamming guests is a normal practice. We could tell the drinks were made using cheap well vodka, however at 13$ a drink they should've been mixing them with goose or kettle one, which they had, and god knows they were charging us for them like they were. Be sure to double and triple check your bill if your have the unfortunate of visiting this venue, which I strongly urge against! read more
