My car was towed to this place by what turned out to be a predatory tow company (Emergency Response Solutions). I had called AAA but this tow truck showed up and the driver "Mike" said he had been called by Toyota through the on board alert system (a lie). Mike insisted the car was "totaled" (also a lie) and he took it to MZ saying that is where totaled cars go. In fact it was not even close to being totaled. However, when i wanted to take it to my own repair shop, MZ demanded $600 for the tow (which they said they had to pay) and $1500 for storage. I said I did not want it towed there and they said that was between me and the tow truck company (which never answered its phone and had a fake address on their truck). Then they demanded I pay with Zelle, which is when I really knew it was a scam. I said I was going to call the District Attorney's office and POOF, all the charges disappeared and AAA was able to remove it and take it to my own shop. Do not trust this place. This place always does great quality work here. I have taken at least 10 of my cars here for the past 5 years and always drive off from the shop a happy customer whether it is through an insurance claim or a non insurance claim. The painter does a fantastic job matching my paint even if it is just painting a bumper or a quarter panel. I have tried other shops before but they do not compare to this place. My car always looks as though it just came off the showroom floor. Outstanding work! I am very meticulous about my cars and was extremely satisfied with their paint job. Some of my cars are older and needed some parts of the car painted due to sun damage but matched them perfectly with the rest of the car. Talk to Brian and your car will be in good hands. read more

My car was a hit and run by a presumably drunk driver while it was parked outside my boyfriends apartment at night and I asked various friends for recommendations. MZ collision center happened to be the closest to my apartment, and offered the best deal. My car was badly scratched and I had assumed that when I got it back, scratches would still be there and a bit of a dent but not at all. When I got my car back today, it looked impeccable. It actually looks cleaner than I left it too and they did me a favor by replacing my side view mirror and taping back a little aesthetic something that had fallen off the car. This place has exceptional service, gave a great price and the staff were all very friendly. I am so impressed with how my car got fixed and I'm especially happy with the price point. They just bondo and lots of over spray... had our cars for a whole month just to Mickey Mouse that shit .... Order wrong parts which made it delay more kept giving me run around !!!! The towing company that they work with first off, towed my car twice and charged me for it without my authorization AND the first tow was actually paid. so i actually paid three times. METRO TOWING on workman. Check them out guys. Second, i asked if they can call the towing company that they work with and let them know there is a mistake. They said thats between me and them, which i dont understand why. You guys work with them lol. But whatever okay thats fine. Third, they charged me over the weekend for my car being there when i never gave the okay to let the car be there in the first place!! And they dont even open on the weekend. So if something on friday happens... your outta luck. Fourth, after i was about to pay to get my car released which was the 1,500 dollars actually 1,800 remember i paid for the first tow already. They said they only accept cash in order to get the car released. Their reason because people have filed claims saying they did not authorize this pay. Which is EXTREMELY INVALID. That is why they should change the policy to copying driver licenses, writing down information and having signatures done after these type transactions. Something so simple you guys cant even think of that. Your welcome just made your business that much better. Your very welcome. I should be the manager of this crappy ass place... anyways so i went on this crazy ass run to get cash so i can get my car out and not be charge another day. And they close at 5. I was brought here by a random towing company that picked me up at the scene of the accident (worst mistake ever) why you ask? Well, FYI tow trucks get paid for every crash car they bring in & if the collision repair shop pays them the most then that's exactly were you're car will end up. They dont care about the type of work being done let alone YOU. 1st day i arrived to mz collision i spoke with several employees at this facility and all promised heaven on earth type of customer service and work on my car. just to name a few Brian, Adrian,Alex. I will start w/ the owner because out of them all this person is the most dishonest human i've ever met & the rest well they just follow by example. I will try to give you a short & brief story. I was hit by a big rig truck and my car was destroyed about 49% according to the appraisal company. I knew the very 1st day i arrived that my car was salvage or damn near salvage due to the hit that it received on the top quarter panel. I made a deal w/ the owner about making my car officially SALVAGE , (i know its shady but the owner agreed to do this for me) red flag #1. Adrien & Brian told me that they have done this before & that fooling the other insurance company's appraisal agent was easy. Alex and Brian both said that all they have to do is damage the suspension a little more and that the car should hit the 70% damaged in order for the car to be considered salvage. The problem started once mz collision saw that the insurance at fault will pay whatever they demanded . The issue was the checks came in w/ my name and not the repair-shops. I received a 9k check . Brian and Alex saw that it was more beneficial to fix my car instead of falsifying it salvage to the insurance bcuz at the end if they would of done what WE agreed upon the only $$ they keep is only storage unit fees which would of end up being 5k for the 30 days it was in shop. Instead what they wanted to do is make the car a bit damage at about 65% instead of the 70% that way the insurance doesn't declare it SALVAGE but ends up paying more to the body shop for them to fix my car IF I AGREE W/ THAT. MZ Collision wanted my 9k check plus what ever else they can suck out of the insurance company. When Brian and Adrian told me that the deal we made was not going to happen i ask them why and straight up lied and said that they never promised me that. Complete BS bcuz upon arrival that was the only thing i wanted done to this car. Soo, at this point i ask Brian(owner) if i did want the car fix at this shop will he atleast put OEM parts and not aftermarket at 1st he said yes& then a few weeks later after no update from them he says No. Finally i was fed up w/ the BS lies that everyone at this shop fed me and ended up taking my $ and car the hell out of there. The most awkward moment was asking them for my money because they were hurting letting go of a 15+k job they all would of commission on. A few months later i was billed for a rental car company that ALEX had claimed it was completely free & on top of that paid for storage units fees that the owner himself said that i was not liable for. You see., these people all profit from all these little schemes they got up in there sleeves . Everyone one from the tow trucks, lawyers, staff members that get commissions for referring jobs to them .. shit even the receptionist ALEX made money off of me by sending me to a fkn rental car company knowing her boss was not going to pay for it. At 1st of course they said they were willing to pay bcuz the relationship wasn't sour but once i knew what was going & confronted them all on there BS lies they turned around figure to charge me w/ what ever possible to composite for the lost job . Its unbelievable that things that this auto shop will say to convince you to leave your car here. They all work on commissions and they bigger the job the more they can pocket from you. They love the younger victims because more than likely you have a newer car and have no experience with these types of situations. They take full advantage of this trust me. My suggestion will be if you ever get in a accident and the car cannot drive any more , get your self a AAA towing company and take the car back to your house or family member ,shh even a friend house and then once you are not hot headed or disoriented look for a reputable auto shop. Do you'r research and dont sign anything till you verify everything they are telling you is exactly what on the contract. Despite having my car in the shop for 3months, I am pleased with their work. They left my car looking like new. When I first crashed I immediately thought my car wouldn't be repairable but they made it happen and I couldn't be any happier to finally have my car back. They have done a pretty good job. I definitely recommend this place. As far as length of repairs, they are a very very busy shop but I'm sure everyone's situation is and will be different and some will have a faster repair time than I did. I'm just glad to finally have my car back and looking and working great!! I want to give a big thanks and shout out to Alex and Daisy. They are the best. I was in an accident about a year ago and I brought the car in (a classic which I did not want totaled) and told it was more than likely a total loss. They were able to work with my insurance and get the repairs under where I needed them to be and the car looks so beautiful and runs even better. They were professional and reliable and I felt like Alex and Brian couldn't have been more supportive. More recently, TWO DAYS before my lease was up I was side swiped while parked on my street and the car was badly dented with several thousand dollars worth in damage. I was becoming extremely frustrated because I was the victim of someone's careless driving and I felt that I had no control of my car repairs. Alex at MZ was handling most of the claim and then Brian, the owner, told me to file it through my own insurance. At that point, things finally started to get moving. My car was repaired in excellent quality. I was treated with kindness and respect by Alex and Brian. I am extremely satisfied with their service and diligence towards my car. And they are both really awesome people. My advice any time you are rear ended- immediately contact an attorney. *If you don't feel like reading this whole review just skip to the last paragraph. I brought my car to MZ Collision on my tow truck driver's recommendation after it was badly damaged while parked overnight in front of my apartment. I should have never taken his recommendation... The shop inspected my vehicle and informed me that the suspension was severely damaged. In addition, the driver side mirror was destroyed and the front left tire was punctured. They gave me an estimate of two to three weeks, which I thought was reasonable and they seemed to know what they were doing so I decided to leave my car with them. Three weeks go by and I hear nothing from the shop. I call in and they tell me the car didn't pass the first alignment and more parts have to be ordered. Another week goes by, I call the shop and get the same answer. Two more weeks go by and the shop again informs me that the car did not pass alignment and more parts must be ordered. On the 6th week, I call in and get the same answer. I ask to speak to the manager who gets frustrated with me and says that suspensions are tricky. I ask him why weren't all of these problems noticed during the first alignment to which he gives me no concrete answer. Finally he tells me that the insurance company of the first person who hit me is always slow and stingy with funding the repairs. So was it the insurance companies fault or the mechanics??? Finally, I decided to call the insurance company who tells me they haven't even received the last supplement from the shop, which the shop told me was sent out the day before WHICH WAS A LIE!!! Three days later the shop calls to inform me my car is ready for pick up. The day of pick up the call me to ask if I want them to order a part to fix my interior door handle WHICH I TOLD THEM TO DO WHEN I DROPPED OFF THE CAR TWO MONTHS AGO!!! At this point I tell them I'll fix it somewhere else because I've had it with this shop. They tell me to pick it up at said time and it will be detailed, washed and ready to go. On the pick up date, I walk in the shop to get my car (which isn't ready. Surprise surprise.) I wait ten minutes for them to pull it around and then upon inspection I see that the mirror wasn't fully repaired (they just replaced the glass) and that the car was not was a detailed like they said it would be. Bottom line, this shop missed deadline after deadline, was too lazy to put pressure on the insurance company to speed things along, lied to me about said communication between the shop and the insurance company and made shoddy repairs on my vehicle. And to top it all off when I picked up my paperwork, my name was misspelled on every single page. In short, if you want an intelligent and honest shop that will do quality work on your car, I suggest you DON'T USE MZ COLLISION!!! read more

I wrote an awesome review for these guys two years ago but posted it on the wrong business page. I brought my VW to MZ after I was TBoned. Alex was so thorough and kind and patient as this was the first time I had ever brought in a far for bodywork! She arranged for me to get a couple other things fixed on my car as well and gave me a super generous price. I also met the owner. I forget his name, but he was really tall. He ALSO was very patient, explaining the process and what my would need, how long it would take to fix, etc. I knew without Out a doubt that this would be my LA body shop as it has proved to bbe! THEN... a couple months after I had gotten my car back some body got to close to my bumper and took of some of the paint that MZ had just put on!!! ALEX offered to fix it at no additional cost. Seriously. These guys know how to make their customers HAPPY. I'm about to turn in my leased car and have list of things I need to fix. I don't plan on going anywhere else!!! My car was dropped off here after an accident, and the MZ Collision Center employees were the nicest people and most comforting people, ever. They waived my deductible and offered me a discounted rental. Amazing. They told me they would take care of the car and that I would have nothing to worry about. Thanks guys. The breakdown in communication happened about a month and a half later, when I still had not been called to pick up my vehicle. I began calling for updates, and almost every time the pickup date would be delayed. It's important to me that my car is fixed as best as possible, so it's not as much of a concern to me when it is delayed. My biggest issue and pet peeve is when the employee promises to call me back and fails to do so every time. I began calling almost everyday for a confirmation status because they never bother to reach out to me as promised. I tried working with them and being patient, but it got to the point where I felt I was being taken advantage of because I was so nice to them. It's been two months now, I have picked up my car, only to bring it back because of another uncovered issue. Brian was so nice and the rental is on the house. My pick up date continues to be delayed, again and again. When I call to get an update, the employee is unable to even describe what the issue is. If I don't call, I don't get any news. Also, if I do call, they say they need to check back with me, and will call me back. But they never call me back. I had to go to the shop in person and speak to Brian, who was able to tell me why my car was being delayed (understandably so). But please deliver the vehicle as promised, or else make sure to communicate what the issues are in a timely manner. Will writing a quick note that you owe someone a callback help? read more

I came by this place sideways. After a hit and run in Korea Town the tow driver asked me if I already knew where I was taking my car. Well funnily enough the shop that I'd used a few times in the past had started to leave a sour taste in my mouth. So, going off of not much more than this guys word and some yelp reviews, I decided to take his recommendation and go with MZ Collisions. Friends, sometimes you have to take that leap of faith. I can tell you that switching shops paid off in spades. Without a doubt MZ has earned my business for years to come. Knock on wood I'm not in any more accidents, but let's be real, shit happens. I brought my car to MZ Collision Center 09/04/13 and went back to reclaim it 09/17/13. Two weeks and my car looks as handsome as ever and as good as new. No trace of the unfortunate history. Samira & Brian helped me go through my very first ever fender bender. They were with me every step of the way, guiding me with questions and answers as I spoke with different parties involved in the accident. I felt very welcome in this body shop. Every one was pleasant, ready to help and always with a smile - from Samira and Brian to the mechanics. Their office is air-conditioned which makes for pleasant negotiations.
