The coffee they serve here is spot on. Love all the plants and open concept feel. Great place for bike gear and any bike related questions. Outdoor seating and great location in Cap hill.

Definitely an interesting spot. Was in here on a coworking sesh and had never even heard of it prior to that day. Looks cool on the outside and definitely fits in with the rest of the Cap Hill businesses. This place is literally a bike shop/bike classes/coffee shop/small bite joint? Oh, and you can get beer here, too. So I mean, there's a lot of stuff goin' on in here and you could have a myriad of reasons why you'd wanna come in. For me, it was because of the cafe side of things, but hey, I'd come back for a beer post-baby. I ended up getting a decaf vanilla latte. Latte art was pretty and the taste was dynamic - super good lattes served up here! I think my only gripe is how long it took to get said latte. The cashier was super apathetic from the get-go with me AND my coworker. Almost borderline rude, but I think it was true apathy. After ordering it was like 10-15 minutes til we got our drinks delivered to us at the bar and only a few people came in after us. They have a food menu that has a lot of healthier bites on it. Had I got food here, it would've been the Beecher's Grilled Cheese. Not sure I'll be back because I'm not the biggest biker/class taker, but... Who knows.

Very happy and pleased with the service and final result, I took a frame to build it and the whole process was smooth, very informative and I am sure they will have me as a client for many years, Thanks Andrew, you are the best

An outstanding array of brews for IPA lovers Ned other beer drinkers as well. Never disappointed by the flavors in these beers as well as the warm, welcoming community and ambiance of the brewery. Personal faves include the Ramble On and Coconut Porter.

Great location to grab coffee or meet a friend for coffee! It's a super cute bike shop/coffee shop with excellent service and a lovely ambiance.

This place is so unique and cool--it knocked my socks off. (Wait--was I wearing socks? Whatever.) Bear with me as this was my first visit. And although I love cycling, I'm not in the serious bike-scene in Seattle. But from what I could tell, Metier is like a health cafe-coffee shop-bike boutique-repair shop-gym mash-up. Phew... that was a mouth-full. Normally when I pop into hybrid spots like this, it throws me off. Like, pick a damn direction and stick with it. But all these aspects of Metier tie together like it's wrapped with a perfect bow. Fuel up, fix yo shit, get your gear, train, connect with other cyclists... and do it all here! That's a pretty dope setup, you know? Now, from the perspective of someone who came to Metier to work and drink caffeinated bevs with my colleagues, it wasn't super ideal. The barista was so nice when she took my order. But it took about 20+ minutes to get my chai tea with almond milk. Wowza. I mean, I was working from there, and they were backed up. But still... We also chose to sit to at the counter, which I wouldn't do again if I came to work. There is no bar to rest your feet on, so the benches just dug into my legs, putting them to sleep. But there are PLENTY of tables around to sit at, so this isn't a complaint. Just a heads up for those looking to work from here. Outlets seemed plentiful and besides a few random beeps towards the end of our visit, it's a pleasant, chill work environment. As far as food and drink go, the food looked amazing. But I didn't get any... so I can't say much there. And the chai I got wasn't really amazing. But that's more of a judgment of the tea blend itself, vs something I would actually dock Metier stars for. But I can't wait to come back and try some food!

Bike shop, cafe and training space. Where in Seattle can you find a place that has all of that under one roof? Why at Metier Racing & Coffee, of course! The shop itself is spacious with good natural lighting. Upon entering, you'll notice a cafe area on your left and on the right, an area to shop for bike and fitness related gear. In addition to getting your grub on and shopping for that much needed foam roller, Metier also offers fitness classes. The group sessions are held in the back for the upper level, while the training area and locker rooms are right down the stairs. I have had the opportunity to try a few classes at Metier: GO Circuit Training: This is a small circuit training class where you will go over about 8 stations for 3 rounds. Such stations include redcore work (similar to TRX suspension training), medicine ball toss, battle ropes, jump ropes and weights. I got got a good workout out of that class. Vinyasa Yoga I feel like you can't go wrong with many vinyasa classes but I love that the instructor took the time to ask the class if there was anything they wanted to focus on for the session. I have been prone to being tight around the shoulders and upper back so this was much appreciated. I can see myself hanging out here often and will have to try their offerings at the cafe during my next visit.

    Speaks for itself.

UPDATE: After posting this review, it somehow got worse. On a later visit, an employee -- who I…read moreunderstand may be a part-owner -- confronted me about the review, followed me out of the store, and called me a "chicken shit" on my way out, blaming me yet again for the entire situation. I'll let that speak for itself. A business that responds to honest, factual feedback by chasing a paying customer out the door and throwing insults has told you everything you need to know about how it treats people. This update wasn't something I went looking for -- it just confirms the exact pattern I described above. REVIEW: I'll stick to the facts. I spent over $6,000 at this shop -- and apparently that doesn't buy you even baseline customer service. I bought my bike here, and after a front wheel/tire failure caused a crash, I went through a Giant warranty claim with Montlake. The product side eventually got resolved, but dealing with them was frustrating from start to finish -- and the real problem wasn't the logistics, it was the attitude. From the beginning, I got the clear sense the shop saw me as an inconvenience rather than a customer. Communication was poor across essentially everyone I dealt with: no timely updates, no callbacks, no straight answers, and I was the one chasing them at every step. More than the delays, it was the tone -- dismissive, condescending, and openly impatient any time I asked a reasonable question about my own bike. One phone call summed up the whole experience. A staff member told me to "chill out dude, you got a new bike even though it was your fault you crashed it," and to stop "beating a dead horse." Talked down to, blamed, and brushed off in a single call. It's also just wrong -- it reflects a basic misunderstanding of how Giant's warranty and crash-replacement programs actually work. I don't expect a shop to agree with me on everything, but I do expect basic respect -- especially as a customer who put thousands of dollars into this place. The product issue got sorted out eventually; the attitude is why I won't be back, and why I'd point other riders elsewhere.

If, however, you have a questionably overpowered long-tail cargo bike running a custom Bafang BBSHD mid-drive setup that may or may not have been engineered during a caffeine-fueled "more capability and power is always a good idea" phase... these are your people. I rolled in with what can only be described as a mechanical riddle wrapped in an enigma of wiring harnesses and torque sensors. My Bafang BBSHD setup had become inhabited by a small tribe of mean spirited electrical gremlins. I'm capable with bike mechanics, but this had gotten over my head - I was bracing for a massive bill (maybe significant part replacements). Instead, the team at Alki Bike & Board just... handled it. Calmly. Confidently. No drama. No upsell. Just pure competence. The bill was less than 1/10 what I had expected. This crew is overseen by a guy called Dayton - I'm not sure if he is more Thor or Hercules. On one hand, he seems like he could summon lightning directly into a mid-drive motor. On the other hand, he has the calm, slightly amused strength of someone who has already defeated twelve labors involving stripped bolts and cross-threaded bottom brackets. Either way, the man is operating on a different plane. He diagnosed the issues quickly, explained everything in plain English (instead of "mystical bike wizard dialect"), and fixed the whole situation for a small fraction of what I was mentally preparing to pay. I didn't believe him when he told me. Bottom line: Extremely knowledgeable Honest pricing No ego, no attitude Dayton = certified bike demi-god If you are near West Seattle and your bike needs anything beyond a gentle pat on the saddle, this is the spot. 10/10.
