We stopped into this Chinese restaurant in Boerne, TX when in the area and wanting to try something new. The food was good. I liked that it came out hot and for some reason stayed warm while we ate the whole meal. Our server and the service was excellent. No complaints there. It is a quaint and seems older restaurant. I believe that management should take a closer look at the aging look and feel of the restaurant as it might project a negative feeling to some. It does need updating. Hopefully, they can find the means to do so as the food was good, in my opinion. read more

Don't let the name put you off because Lung Fung is a decent place to get a decent Chinese meal. The food is good and not too pricey but that's really it. It is good but does not soar higher nor does the food attempt to even dream of greatness. Still the place is usually hosting a hand full of people and the service remains at appropriate levels with an appropriate ambience, level of chatter but that's really it. Lung Fung is a mediocre strip mall, Chinese restaurant with average Chinese food at a decent price, and does not aspire to be anything beyond the level of three stars. So I'm not saying you'll be disappointed, but I'm not saying you'll be overly impressed either. Either way I would go back if I was in the mood for average. read more

I've been a few times to eat here, but this last trip may be my last visit. I went for the evening buffet, it ended up being underwhelming. The food wasn't hot, even when freshly filled. The chicken served was tough, and also a bit chewy. I was hoping for some iconic options like orange chicken and sesame chicken but they had neither. I would probably not have done the buffet if I had known what was on it before. Also, on drinks, they charge individually so no refills. I wouldn't have been bothered if they told me when I ordered, but instead I was surprised when my drink ran out. This info is probably on the menu, but I didn't get one since I was there for the buffet. None of the food items were my favorites. They were okay, but not good enough to make me want to come back. I love this place. I've been eating here for many years and it always feels like home. The lunch buffet is excellent - they only have a few items, but they put small portions out so they're constantly making fresh stuff to replenish it. Menu portions are great and fresh too. The place looks good and has a fresher feel to it after the fire that happened several doors down back a few years ago. Nothing can match the service that Alan provided and we all certainly miss him, but the service is still great. Support local, y'all! read more

I'm normally not this critical of restaurant establishments but this place needs to take some constructive advice to revamp the food and venue. The Chicken with cashew nuts was watered down with no flavor, looked unappealing like slop, and the chicken tasted raw. The sweet and sour chicken was mostly dark meat and super dry. The fried rice was shockingly not Chinese style, it was white rice with some achiote type coloring to make it semi yellow. It had no flavor at all. We asked for spicy and they really came through. The place is clean and quiet. The owner or manager was our waiter and he took great care of us. Didn't even look like they killed or removed the roach. Lost our appetite and couldn't finish the meal. Still paid full price and tried to add an additional tea to the bill when I had water. Was on my way out of town and decided to stop in for lunch before leaving. The ambiance is not any more than an aging cafe, but the FOOD was so good! I ordered lunch portion of orange chicken, and probably left half of it untouched because the portion was so large. The food came out piping hot and freshly made, and it was obvious they take pride in their cuisine. The service was great, it appears to be a family run restaurant. Went during lunch hour on a Tuesday, it was not too busy. I ordered the lemon chicken and my mom ordered the almond chicken lunch portion. The waitress got my order wrong and brought me sesame chicken. When I told her I ordered lemon chicken she told me you said you wanted sesame chicken. I was shocked she told me that I was wrong, however she just took away the food with no apology. The food came out hot which was a good thing. The rice and egg roll was very good. But after living in Texas for several months we finally got a craving for it and decided to try Lung Fung. We ordered takeout on a Saturday night which consisted of crab rangoons, fried rice, and some general tso chicken. The food wasn't very good. The rice was dry and was lacking flavor, the texture didn't feel fresh as well. The crab Rangoon filling was very bland, and there was minimal filling inside. The general tso chicken was spicy, and just super red in color and didn't appear very appealing ....too much artificial coloring added. Probably won't be back. read more

We went last night right when they opened and "everything" was hot, very very fresh and delicious. The soup, the house made Crab Rangoon (crispy outside and creamy inside), and the homemade egg rolls. We had the personal dinner ( limited choices), but a steal at $11. You get soup, 2 Crab Rangoon's, rice and a meal. I had the beef and broccoli. The meat was tender and the veggie crisp and fresh. Also on the menu was the Magnolia Beef. Again, extremely fresh.
