Old fashioned cakes, pies, cookies, cupcakes, brownies and more! When I say "and more", I mean it! They had all kinds of goodies behind that glass case! Walking inside this place brought back memories of days when my grandmother would bake cakes and pies. Their 1960's decor also reminded me of her kitchen. Their products are baked on site. It smells so good in there! It took me a while to decide what to get and the lady behind the counter said, "Take your time baby!" lol I've ordered cakes from here for birthdays, holidays, and various celebrations at work. I was very eager to try this place due to the wonderful reviews. After stopping by on 3 separate occasions to get 3 different types of baked goods, I have to say that my experience was just OK. Admittedly, on each occasion I selected baked goods that were already prepared in their bakery case... and in each case I found the items I purchased (cupcakes, cookies, German chocolate cake and a large 2 layer yellow cake with butter-cream frosting) both a little old and a bit odd tasting. Based on my personal baking experiences, I do believe that their cakes are made from scratch so that is a plus. What will ensure me not coming back, though, is the lack of fresh goods on every occasion I've come in to purchase something... not to mention whatever they are flavoring their cookies and frostings with tastes very strange (to me, anyway) - lol. Everything I purchased was edible, but doesn't warrant 5 star reviews... sorry. lol read more

The lady at the counter was friendly and had no problem answering my questions, and everything is very reasonably priced. Had to grab some Apple fritters, though judging by their size I could've easily been ok with just one. They're absolutely delicious and HUGE!! Simply put this place is great! I think the ladies who work there have been there a while too....there is a slight....slight crankiness that I actually love as well. I am never disappointed with Naa's!!! The pastries are always good and the donuts put Krispy Kreme and Dunkin Donuts to shame! I also tried their individually wrapped cake slices and it made me want to go order a whole cake.... fresh, moist and the frosting was good! I've lived in the area my whole life, but it was my first time to visit Naa's. I was surprised to see the variety of goods at Naa's - wall to wall sweets. They definitely have a little something for every sweet tooth. I went for two turnovers, peach and apple, and a slice of pineapple cake. The turnovers were delicious. I suspect, however, that Naa's uses purchased puff pastry and canned filling. That's OK, but it's hard to give full credit for that. The cake , too, was good. I did feel that it was way too sweet, though. I had a bit of my friends cake slice and his, too, was too sweet. The cake in addition to the icing must be overly sugared. That's where my three stars came from. Bakeries have all but disappeared in HR. I'm glad Naa's is still alive and kicking. read more

I've never been here before and was really looking forward to it. My son and I walked in, we're trying to figure out which doughnuts to get and I asked for a box of 10. Literally, after every choice of doughnut came, "what else, what else, what else?" As if there was a line behind me?! It's our first time, we have no clue what we want and with limited choices we needed a FEW seconds. This woman had ZERO tolerance and it showed. We drove 30 min to get there, it was a waste of time and doughnuts were as great as the service. This was our first experience at Naa's bakery and it was mediocre to say the least . One of the crew members, particularly the one who serviced us was very short, unfriendly and unwelcoming. Not just with us, but I watched her huff-puff and eyeroll while taking care of the gentleman in front of us . I seriously considered going somewhere else due to the lack of customer service . Their assortment of donuts wasn't very large this day, and nothing was labeled so I couldn't make my order any quicker because we had to go through and ask which item was what individually . We got a dozen donuts, and though the custard filled donuts were pretty bland overall, it is pretty good bang for your buck if you simply like big a** donuts without much flavor . I really did enjoy the apple pie (?) donut though . Though they weren't very friendly or welcoming Im definitely willing to give them at least another shot ; I did see another pastry I would like to try - though I have no idea what it is (again no labels). Hopefully on our next trip their baked goods won't be as dry as their attitudes and we catch them on a better day read more

I drove by Naa's bakery about a hundred times before I finally stopped in, desperate for Christmas goodies that I never got around to baking. I got a huge amount of delicious cookies for a very cheap price, and picked up a donut shaped like a pretzel for myself. Delicious. They have a huge selection of pastries, breads, cookies, etc. as well as a large sugar-free section. They also do custom cake orders, as I've seen a couple customers picking up very beautiful cakes. I've been in a couple times now and the staff has always been really helpful, and one guy even regaled me with the story of how he made his own tattoo gun out of an electric toothbrush and a sewing needle, then preceded to show me his "Ocean View" tattoo. This place might have good tasting pastries but I wouldn't know. It is absolutely filthy! Every surface from the floor to the table tops is covered with dirt. The walls are even dirty. If the selling area is dirty I can't help but wonder what the kitchen area looks like. I'm no cleanliness fanatic. I ate breakfast in Rosarito Beach, Mexico in a restaurant with a dirt floor every Sunday for 3 years in addition to eating from street vendors and in many, many places in Mexico that most Americans wouldn't go, but this bakery absolutely turned me off. read more

A few of my former coworkers favored this bakery so much that I decided to visit it recently. Apparently, this business has a contract with the City of Norfolk, I've heard. When I walked into the place, I recall noticing that the store looked old and dirty. I can tell that the place is favored by frequent visitors, because they took comfort in ordering their "usual" and seemed to know the workers on a first name basis. I've purchased a blueberry pie there and thought it was delicious; especially with Breyer's French vanilla ice cream. Also, I liked how Naas's peach turnover tasted: light, flaky, and buttery on the outside. On the other hand, I was not fond of their chocolate-covered products. The chocolate tasted cheap; unlike Sugar Plum's. On a lighter note, my daughter really enjoyed her pink fondant piggy cake. read more

I really like this place...I'd came here over 10 years ago and forgotten all about it....I've been coming once a week since I rediscovered it, Naa's keeps its display stocked with all of the donuts, turnover,s cookies, cupcakes, and pastries you often don't find in local grocery stores, and their prices are a reason to come here and skip the grocery stores all together, you could easily get a whole box of assorted pastries for under $10 I've yet to see other bakeries compete in that aspect. The friendly kindness of the owners/employees made this a beautiful experience. I arrived late in the day on a Saturday. I was served as if I were the first customer of the day, even though I had arrived 20 min before closing. The cannoli has a crisp, fresh crust with real cheese inside. A line began forming behind me as evidence that this bakery has repeat business. My cherry turnover is fresh and bursting with cherries. I might have come at the wrong time. Was coming home from the hospital with my son and they were listed in Yelp under "ice cream". Well they don't sell ice cream which is NOT their fault. What is there fault however is a Neapolitan consisting of yellow cake in the middle( whaaat?) and pastry in the outside. Um...no. Neapolitan is pastry filled with cream and that signature white and chocolate frosting in the outside. We tried a "honey bun" ew greasy fried dough. Could not finish it. The cannolis were OK. Maybe in the morning they have better bakery goods , but not in the afternoon. read more

The lady that helped me was rude. I watched the other (shorter) lady lick her fingers before she picked up a tray full of pastries and put her hands on them. Then she helped a customer- still not washing her hands. I can't tell you whether my cupcake was good because Rude Lady coughed over it and I threw it out right after I left the store. Naa's Bakery really helped out my mom last week. My brother got married last weekend and the groom's cake had been inadvertently forgotten.
