    Yellowtail lover roll
    Caleb H.

Lovely sushi spot in northwest Austin. A lot of great options on the menu, and I went with the yellowtail lover roll. Warning: should be called the jalapeno lover roll! But I enjoyed it and would definitely recommend checking this place out.

Came here on a whim and I can say I've found one of my favorite sushi spots in Austin. We got the $180 4 person meal and it was plenty of food to share. The service was quick and the restaurant interior was really nice. One thing I wish they did was have the nigiri and sashimi come out before the rolls. It may be a personal preference but the rolls got us extremely full in the beginning and we couldn't enjoy the fish as much because of this. The calamari was more on the breaded side and not that much octopus in the inside - I would skip out on this appetizer. (Garlic edamame was delicious) Otherwise ~ everything was great!

Nabe is such a solid sushi spot in Austin! Super fresh fish, creative rolls, and everything comes out looking and tasting great. The vibe is modern but still relaxed, and the staff is always friendly and on point. Perfect place for date night or dinner with friends....definitely one of my go-to sushi spots in town from now on. Excellent platters. Sumika (rice) one and Shobu. Both come with two miso soups.

Hands down the best sushi I've had in the Austin area! The quality is excellent, and the prices are super reasonable. The servers were incredibly friendly and professional, which made the experience even better. The uni, hamachi, and saba were especially fresh and delicious. I also tried the California and unagi rolls--both were very good! Definitely recommend them. The lunch special bento boxes are an amazing deal. I had the tonkatsu bento box, and it was really tasty! Overall: Great sushi, great value, great service. Clean, welcoming, and worth coming back to. Highly recommend!

Came here for weekday lunch and was pleasantly surprised to find a hefty menu for the weekday lunch specials. There were a ton of tables open so it didn't feel crowded. There was plenty of parking and the service was good. I came here specifically for the chirashi bowl and it was delicious and filling. It came with a wide variety of fish, but the rice was a little on the drier side. Nonetheless, it was seasoned well. The salmony 1 came with a good mix of different salmon, all delicious as well.

Great sushi with rolls I haven't had anywhere else. Definitely try the "Yellowtail lover" and "Vanessa" rolls. Thank me later!

I'm so happy to have discovered another great sushi spot in Austin! The quality of the food here definitely lives up to its ratings. For nigiri, I absolutely loved the scallop, miso salmon, and toro. One of my all-time favorite rolls has to be the We Need Protein Wagyu roll--I'm not sure if that was garlic butter on top, but oh my goodness, it melted in my mouth! Whoever invented this roll is god-sent. The smokiness of the Wagyu left a lasting impression. As for the Torotoro roll, it was decent--good, but nothing particularly special or rave-worthy. Good service. Chill ambiance.

I decided to visit this restaurant based on a friend's recommendation. Although it's a bit of a drive from my place, I usually come to this area once every three months. The restaurant is spacious, and they have an outdoor patio. However, I wouldn't recommend sitting there during the summer because it's not covered. The chicken katsu was decent, but not particularly impressive. The fry on it was uneven in color and some of the pieces were quite dry. The scallop was just okay. It lacked flavor even though it was stir-fry with garlic and other ingredients. The service was average. It was their soft opening when I visited, so I can understand that they were still learning.

Nice addition to the Japanese/Sushi scene around the Four Points area. Went there for lunch and found the food to be very good. The lunch specials were varied and covered all the bases with many Bento and Sushi combination options. The food is very good. Sushi was fresh and tasted great. We really enjoyed the Karaage and Tempura Bento boxes. Delicious sampling of many Japanese favorites. Service was friendly and prompt.

Came here on their 3rd day of opening and they did not disappoint. The lunch menu had quite a lot to choose from and prices were fair (between $16-28). The food was delicious! There were still some kinks to be worked out such as the rice was a bit undercooked, miso soup was way too salty and luke warm. But other than that, really can't complain since it was their 3rd day of business. Servers were attentive and owner was nice. Ambiance was on point. This is a much needed restaurant for the River Place area and I'll definitely be back.

First time going to Nabe and I was alone so I sat at the Sushi Bar and received amazing service! Both the server and the Sushi Chef were friendly and attentive. The sushi was fresh, the ambiance is nice and chill so it was a great experience all around. Looking forward to going back.

Fantastic addition to the four points area. They claim to be upscale sushi and they are. The bento box lunch is about $20 but a good value. The salad was fresh, everything was delicious, and it was plenty of food. I will be coming back for dinner!

There are 6 seats. My boyfriend and I had such a fun, personal experience. The staff were incredible--warm, engaging, and genuinely excited to guide us through each course. The food itself was delicious, beautifully crafted, and felt customized in a way that made the night feel unique to us. It's the kind of omakase that doesn't take itself too seriously while still delivering seriously good dishes. I also highly recommend the sake and cocktail pairing. The bartender customizes it based on your preferences. I told her my favorite drink is an espresso martini and she made this really fun espresso, strawberry latte concoction. There is also a special house sake with an homage to the owner's cat. I love those personal details. It's always a great time at Toshokan, and I'll definitely be back again. You get to select the chop stick holder and chop sticks you'd like to use. I asked, they have at least a dozen I believe different chop stick holder options. They also do s personalized wood coaster with your name burnt into it. The selections were amazing with each one having a unique flavor that melted in your mouth. I added the sake and cocktail pairing which Nicole does amazing. I let her know I still kept the origami crane she last time was still on my counter at home. The Edamame - which were charred in a way that I feel like I've never experienced it before and had such great flavor. 2. The scallop roll had a thinly sliced shaved truffle on top that made the roll simple yet out of this world. Shout out to the manager who came by just to check in.
