Really enjoyed my meal here. I got the rice bowl and added chicken. Good amount of toppings to choose from and I really enjoyed the addition of the pickles! I got the garlic sauce which was really good. There is a green salsa-like option and I got some on the side. It has a sneaky little spiciness to it so I was glad it was on the side...but it provided the perfect little punch to the bowl. Kudos to them for opening up on what has to be one of those most unfortunate weeks to have an opening week ever. 2. Mobile ordering was easy enough but it wouldn't recognize my free side order. I used to love this place but two falafels with all the toppings should NOT be $30! In cities with widespread falafel and kebab shops this stuff is around $5! I love this place! The food is so healthy and delicious! The pitas are light and fluffy and so good! The one thing I wish they'd improve is the consistency. I Oder the chicken shawarma bowl every time and it has been different almost every time in terms of quantities of ingredients. Sometimes it goes all the way up to the to-go lid, other times it's barely enough for a single serving. Sometimes there's hummus as a base, other times none. Sometimes there's a lot of chicken, sometimes not. If they could be consistent with dishes, this place would be perfect! read more

Naf Naf used to be my favorite restaurant on the north side because their food is delicious, and I would recommend them frequently. I've had their catering for my birthday, as well as have frequented their shop for bowls often. However, their portion sizes and practices have changed and it is no longer worth visiting. The chicken shawarma scoop is now very tiny and not worth the $11 it costs for a bowl. Last visit I had three small pieces of chicken that I actively had to search for in my bowl. Additionally, hummus used to be a topping that came with the bowls and it now costs an additional $1.25. I understand that business practices and prices should change to reflect the economic state of the world, however skip Naf Naf if you're on the north side. read more

My family had to escape the frozen tundra that was our home during the big freeze in December. The hotel had a little info card for the NafNaf Grill. We have found that we like the all in one bowls, so thought this had potential. OMG, did it ever! The pitas: heavenly little cloud puffs, amazing. For the base we had the salad and basmati rice. We added steak, chicken swarma and falafels. We tried ALL of the toppings! The sumac onions and the MIddle Eastern pickles were so tasty. I loved both. We had tahini and marissa sauces. Again, delicous! And, of course baklava. I have been dreaming about eating there since! My mouth is watering right now. The Falafal looked really good, but I chose to hit up the Shwarma. Their fries are more like softer chips. I have to say, I was bummed when I saw the chips, but they were great. Honestly, everything was bland, including the tahini, which tasted like watered down mayo. The lentil soup was good, but again bland. Staff making jokes when I asked if the soup was vegetarian was a bit off putting. I was super excited for a fresh pita, it was fresh, but the worst pita ever. The consistency and thickness was nothing like an authentic Med restaurant. Reminded me more of a dried out pita a day from expiring from the grocery. Portions were very generous, probably should get 3 meals out of a bowl. If you prefer food that's not highly seasoned, this place would be a good choice. Ordered a pita falafel to go. The toppings they offered are just ok, the cucumber-tomato topping tasted musty ... the disappointing part is that the falafels are pre-made and room temperature. Had bad customer service here about a year ago and decided to see if they improved at all- bit was I wrong. The "manager" Gina (sp?) was SO very unprofessional, she shouldn't be working in the public AT ALL! My husband picked-up an order for me that I placed online. He didn't know what he was picking up, all he knew was that it was ready. As soon as he walked in to the restaurant, the "manager pointed to a shelf that had to-go orders on them. Not sure how she knew he was there to pick an order up, but she just pointed at him. He asked where my order was, stating our last name and she said it was the top bag on top. He brought it home and guess what, it wasn't MY order, but someone else's. I called to let the "manager" know and she was RUDE as ever on the phone, wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise and hung up on me. I went in to retrieve my order and again, she was completely unprofessional. Even the other employee at the register was rude. I will NEVER EVER spend my hard-earned money at this restaurant. Have not been disappointed. You choose if you want hour good in a bowl or pita. Trying to reduce bread so I've been going with bowls. If you choose hummus, they spread it on the inside of the bowl then put toppings on it rather than putting a glob on top. It actually works better! Then you choose a protein--the chicken shawarma is great. Next comes a big variety of veggie toppings. Sumac onions, cucumber salad, red cabbage salad, sour pickles, tabbouleh. Try them all. They're great together and you might get a new favorite. Finally, the sauce. The green one has a punch but has a really lively flavor. Mix it with the creamy garlic and it will be awesome!! The red one is very spicy. And the bowl comes with a store-made fluffy pita. A little bit of chew. A whole lot of flavor. You won't leave hungry! A little pricy for every day (about $10-11) but not bad. You could make it into two lunches, but you're not going to want to! Definitely recommend giving it a try for lunch or dinner!! read more

Ok, this is ridiculous, let's just call. NOPE. They don't take orders over the phone. Try computer again. Hmm. Ok, call and talk to manager... give them my order... finally. Show up to pick up food.... Wait for it... "my manager said we had to call you back to verify you were coming before making your order" (?!). I guess that is because they get so few online orders... wonder why? But somehow no missed calls in my call log. I've had plenty of middle eastern food in my life and I haven't found an establishment that has been able to recreate quality and consistency in the way that Naf Naf has. I've been to Naf Naf more than a dozen times; I have never walked away unsatisfied. The falafel and rice are divine, and the pita has great texture. Just as important, the staff are incredibly professional and nice. Naf Naf is the middle-eastern equivalent of Chipotle. From my perspective, that is a high compliment. read more

Had heard about this place and wanted to try something different. It's a part of a strip to the west of Meijer in Carmel. I had read reviews online saw that several pushed ordering online for carry-out, which a number of folks seemed to be doing. However because it was my family's first time visiting, we wanted to see things in person before placing our order. They do offer some tables for eating on a patio just outside of the front door, but we chose to dine inside to get a better feel for things and refer back to the menu as we ate. First thing I will note is that it isn't obvious where to go when you enter, but eventually we saw a sign that was sort of hidden on the wall to the right indicating to start on that side. It does have the Subway approach to ordering as several places have started doing. The menu behind the lineup of employees is electronic and displays the steps for ordering as well as items that are a part of each step. I had seen reviews knocking an employee as being rude, but our experience was pleasant and efficient. My wife ordered the Veggie Plate [10.95] to get an assortment of options in that category. My son went with a Pick 2 Plate [11.95] with steak and chicken that seemed to be a pretty large portion of food. They both enjoyed their food, but said they would try other options on future visits to further explore the menu. I chose the Falafel Baba Ghanoush (a spread made from eggplant, tahini, and garlic) Bowl [9.15] and added onions, tabouli, hummus, and garlic sauce. Because of some reviews I had read, I chose to try their 2 spicy sauce options (S'Khug - green hot sauce; Harissa - red hot sauce) on the side. I am glad I did. I generally like spicy, but they aren't messing around with either of these, and the red seemed to kick it up a notch from the green. In retrospect, my dish was a bit over the top on the garlic, which I will chalk up to my ignorance in selection as opposed to their preparation. The highlights of the order were the Falafel, which I thought tasted great and are hard to come by around here, and the complimentary pita they offer and I believe make from scratch daily. We also shared a side of Naf Fries [$3.15], which my son loved but my wife and I probably would have preferred to toss in the air fryer at home to let them cook a bit longer. Overall, it's something different from the usual that we all enjoyed. Don't know that it's something I would crave, but I do hope they do a good business because I like having them around as an option for a future visit. read more

The food is really good, and the pita bread is made fresh continually all day. I had a bowl with gyro meat and Fattoush, and I very much enjoyed it. My husband had the falafel in a pita, and he really enjoyed it, too. I like being able to choose exactly what I want in my dish, so I am a fan of the Chipotle/Subway style of ordering.
