I used to like NafNaf, especially the one in Northbrook, IL. This one in Maple Grove, MN is just so so. The falafel is usually overcooked, and the chicken shawarma is also overcooked and dry. I went last night, but they were out of pita. Can you imagine a Middle East restaurant out of pita. Naf Naf is sooooooo tasty! I've been a fan for a long time. This location did a good job. They kept the line moving and the food was really good. The seating isn't the greatest because all they have are a few metal tables bolted to the ground. I wish the portions were bigger because everything is so so flavorful. Nothing much has changed since last time, the menu is same, same people working and same great tasting food. Had their chicken shawarma pita and my wife tried their falafel pita which were both delicious. We normally go for their fries which are very close to Indian Pakodas, love them. The place is clean, very neatly maintained. I was glad this place was open on Easter Sunday, when most of the places around were closed and we were literally roaming on streets with hunger. There is a lot of parking around them, and some nice shopping options like Nordstrom Rack, Best Buy and so on. Unfortunately for us, they were all closed on account of Easter. I rarely write reviews like this but unfortunately I must. The man with the beard who worked at 7:02 pm today had a stick up his ass. My aunt kindly asked for another bag. This worker threw our pita and fries in the other bag out of anger. The customer service is freaking unacceptable. This was the first time I ever came here and I left angrier than ever. I will never come here again. I'm not sure what side of the bed he woke up on, but if his attitude is going to be like that for such a simple task, I will be more than happier to never come again. I like gyros, hummus and all things exotic but was severely disappointed in this restaurant. The pita bread was soggy and tasteless and the yellow rice and three little pieces of shawarma chicken were unsatisfactory. The white sauce had no flavor at all. Had our usual falafel bowls this evening. They were good, falafel obviously just made and nice sides. We are polite- please and thank yous, but did the server have an attitude. Must of had a difficult day. We did leave a tip in the jar. Got home and looked at the receipt- we had been charged a gratuity. So why is there a tip jar out? The first bite was amazing! Every other bite was amazing! I don't think I've ever had Middle Eastern food this good and it was a cafeteria style, fast food-ish place. I chose the veggie plate with falafel baba ghanoush, whatever that chopped cucumber salad is, it also came with a pita and hummus. I think I put a white sauce over it not sure what it was, but very tangy and tasty. The woman who greeted us was very friendly, we were not just another number. The store was clean. This is one of my favorite chains! I won't be all judge-y about it not being local or the only location, so long as they keep that garlic sauce flowing and the pitas baking. I always order pita pockets (rather than a bowl), usually chicken, with everything, extra pickles, garlic sauce and green hot sauce. And for just $3 extra you make it a combo - a fountain drink and naf naf fries or soup. It's terribly difficult to resist their lentil soup. The service here is the best I've received at any of the 3 locations I've frequented. Every visit, I am greeted with a smile and not with "whuddaya want" but with "how are you today?". Also every visit, someone has come around to ask how everything is. And I always reply with a firm thumbs up and vigorous nodding as my face is jam packed o pita. read more

I had the steak shawarma hummus bowl, which came with a hearty layer of hummus, cucumber salad, a dressed shredded cabbage, pickles (if you're into that kind of thing), and a (surprise!) free fresh baked pita! Sauce options were a two spicy salsa-ish sauces, tahini, and garlic-mayo sauce. The salsas, for lack of a better word, were flavorful, both not overly spicy. And all for $9! I passed on the pita and was still full after the bowl, but not like full-of-regret full. Checked the nutrition deets when we got back and I was impressed on that front too! Low(ish) sodium, low(ish) calories, and super high protein. And great news for the beef-bodies, steak was healthier than the chicken. So glad I found this place! Went for lunch with a friend. The service was painfully slow, which overshadowed any redeeming aspects to the restaurant. Although there were only about 10 people in front of us, we waited well over 30 minutes in line. They were obviously understaffed, and struggling to keep up, but ran out of ingredients multiple times during our wait. One person's job was solely to make pitas. They were fresh and warm! When we finally received our food, it was good, but not great. Kind of like chipoltle with different sauces, higher prices and less food. Just finished my dinner from Naf Naf Grill and I'll say it's pretty darn delicious. I order the Chicken Shawarma bowl. It came on a bed of tumeric basmati rice and I added baba ghanoush, hummus, chopped lettuce and veg, included sumac onions and topped it with garlic sauce. Pita bread was super fluffy, not your typical pita bread. I'm a sucker for baklava and got the salted caramel, eh...not worth it, not very tasty, salty, sweet and flaky, but not flavorful. Now here is why I gave it 3 stars. AND take note if you plan on ordering curbside (which I did). I placed my order online and when I arrived it looked very busy, but the girl was hustling bringing out order after order. After 10 mins past my pick up time I started to get a bit frustrated, thinking wow, they're busy! Waited 5 more mins and hit my curbside waiting time threshold and decided to check in. Turns out my order was ready I just parked in the wrong area. Mind you, when I arrived, there was limited parking. In placing my order I gave description of my vehicle including color, make and model, as well as, pressed the "I'm here" indicator button on my confirmation email. Apparently, only one side of the building is for curbside. How was I to know you ask? Not sure...there was no info about that in the ordering process or email and I didn't see signage as well...being busy, blocked by cars. As I pulled out I thought, maybe there was a sign, but like I said, I could not see over all the cars. All in all, what is the point in letting them know "I'm here" if they don't bother to turn the corner and see I'm two spots away from the "designated curbside parking area". Which is only 5 spots BTW. I would order again, but would definitely not do curbside...too annoyed by that experience. The falafel is to die for, the pitas are made fresh, and the skhug sauce is delicious. You simply can't go wrong with a falafel bowl that's loaded with rice, hummus, tabouleh, and cabbage. Love Mediterranean food, not always affordable at your typical sit down (if you like variety like I do, at least). Great place to eat! It's like a Chipotle but with Hummus, Falafel, and Steak/Chicken Shawarma. You choose what you want either in a pita, in a couscous rice or salad bowl, or a Hummus bowl. You then can choose to add Basmati Rice, Hummus, Falafel, Purple Cabbage salad, chop chop salad, Sumac Onions and Baba Ghanoush. Plus all the normal sides for sauces and dipping. To top it off- with the bowls you also get a pita on the side. :) Once you create your pita/bowl, you can also get Naf fries. Ordered delivery on 1/4/24. We've been to NafNaf before and were always happy with the portions, but the delivery was significantly different in a bad way. The bowls were barely half full, even the sauces were about 1/3 in the tiny deli cups. They sent a note 'sorry no baklava' but didn't refund us for it or give us a coupon for free desert next time or anything to make it right. The chicken shawarma tasted like tuna fish and was dry, nothing like it was the last time we were in the restaurant. My side order of baba ghanoush came in the same size condiment container the rest did, not the side cups they used to have - I don't know if this is now the standard size but I sure wouldn't have paid what I paid for this tiny amount. The only thing good was the pita. I am extremely disappointed in this restaurant and how different delivery was from going in, if this is how they treat people by giving them much less food than they paid for, than they would have gotten in the store, then we'll take our business somewhere else. read more

Just discovered this place not too long ago. By far one of the best falafels I've ever tasted. This is located across Nordstrom Rack in Maple Grove. The set up is similar to a chipotle or subway where you go down the line and tell then what you would like. The employees there are extremely friendly and happy which makes the experience better. They have a very modern simple look inside and play music which sets the tone for the restaurant. I order the bowls and have the pita breads separate. My favorite is the Chicken Shawarma bowl, with the rice and the couscous, and their chopped salad, and purple cabbage, with teziki sauce and the red sauce. It's so flavorful! Don't forget your falafels! It's definitely on my top choices for a healthy alternative food. I managed to get totally full without any bread. I had the hummus bowl with falafel. I love all the cool tasty, crunchy stuff you can add. For me it's pickles and red cabbage. The hummus is so smooth with a nice lemon balance. I had to share a lentil soup. A generous portion and really delicious. Strangely they had background raeggae music. The staff are very helpful. I looove Middle Eastern food. I was intrigued by the description of this place so we went and check it out one night after a Costco shopping sesh. First of all, yes, very Chipotle-esque. But I love Chipotle so no complaints here. I went with a hummus bowl, and holy shit did he give me a lot of hummus. Followed with steak, the cabbage, pickles, tahini sauce, and a warm, fluffy pita! I didn't get any of the spicy salsas, but did sample some of my husband's as he got it on the side - the less spicy one had pretty good flavor, so I would get that next time for sure. Anyway, I tucked in. The pita turned out to be great, I broke it in half and loaded some of my bowl into it and made my own makeshift pita sandwich. I reeeeally like the flavor of the pita! The bowl was all around awesome, you get a shit ton of food for $8-9 bucks. The reviewer who said the bowls were skimpy is either giant or got a one off, my bowl was easily as much or more in volume than a Chipotle burrito bowl. I was stuffed! Neither of us got combos so can't comment on the fries. I couldn't imagine having room in my stomach for both bowl and fries O.o 10/10 for price, convenience, friendly staff, taste!
